Nike Unlocking Problems

Hi,
Need a bit of help!
Have attempted to unlock my phone using this guide... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=395945
But I get to the radio update stage, and the phone wont complete the upgrage.
So I took the phone to a phone shop locally and they had the same problem. They said the best option was to get an unlock code from HTC direct and that should unlock it.
Picked the phone up the other day and was told that HTC couldnt provide a code for my phone.
Phoned T-Mobile who were able to provide an unlocking code, went to turn the phone on with another sim inside and get a message saying that the incorrect code has been entered 6 times and I have to wait for timeout. How long does it take to time out?!
Thanks in advance for any advice!

[Q] Exchange integration without PIN entry on unlock

Hi all,
I have a HD2 which I've linked to my work exchange server. Email, contacts sync etc works great. What's not so good is the need to enter a 8 digit pin code each time I unlock the screen. I can't change the exchange policy because I work for a very large company.
What I would like to happen is to be able to lock and unlock the screen without entering a PIN code. I don't mind if it's been locked for 20 minutes entering a passcode. But at the monent it's everytime I unlock the screen.
The PIN code is required after either 20 minutes OR each time I unlock the screen. Annoying!!
Is there an app to help? PIN code after 20 mins is ok, just not each time I unlock the screen.
HELP!!!!!
Anyone on this??? It's annoying!!
I know there are tools that can break the policies. Just try google searching for exchange/corporate policies and you'll find it.
I've got a question for you as you're also having a pin code on your device. If I receive a call when the device has been locked I only get the windows mobile phone canvas after accepting the call and not the nice htc screen with the slider. If I get the call when the device has been unlocked before everything is alright. Is that the same with your device?
Yes the behaviour you describe is the same on my phone. The phone gives you limited functionality when you answer a call- but only when the phone was locked before you took the call. This is to prevent someone calling your phone and bypassing the PIN security check. You can unlock the phone during a call by entering the PIN code- but it's not easy entering a 8 digit PIN while on an important call :-|
Do you have a link you can post which will help me to break the exchange security policy on the HD2.
Regards

[Solved] Unlocking an HTC HD2 Leo

I am recording my experience here for others to see.
I had an HTC HD2 Leo with WM6.5 locked to Orange. I had updated it to Pure Gingerbread gpc and then to BoyPPC. I then purchased (see * below) a code to unlock the phone so that I could use a 'three' 3GB SIM.
The code was accepted as "Network unlock successful", but I got no service, no networks, no APNs - nothing - and the phone reported "Error while searching for networks". Furthermore I had to enter the unlock code each time I booted from cold and when I switched airplane mode off.
Chris10230 suggested something was not being saved properly and I should restore the phone to its original state and try again.
However, I tried WP7 with similar results ie "PIN accepted" when entering the unlock code, when using the connection set up app I got "Warning There is no SIM card or PIN code has not been input". Again I had to repeat entering the code.
Eventually I put WM6.5 back on the phone entered the unlock code and everything appeared to work properly ie I had a service from 'three' and did not need to re-enter the code.
In summary with an Orange HTC HD2 there is a problem unlocking under Android and WP7 while WM6.5 works fine.
I hope these notes are useful to someone. Don't expect more from me on this as I have just strated learning about Android and SmartPhones.
* HTCimeiUnlock.com provided the unlock code for $25 through PayPal. When I contacted them about the problems I had above they responded promptly and provided an immediate refund even though the unlock code they provided eventually proved good and the problem lay in my phone.
Well I have never unlocked my phome but from what I have been told by others here on XDA you have to use Windows Mobile to SIM unlock your HD2 as it is the native OS and is the only OS that can properly SIM unlock the HD2. I do not know this for 100% truth but my assumption on this is to properly SIM unlock your HD2 the OS has to be able to interface with the boot partition of the NAND memory or more spacificaly the IPL of bootloader. Seeing that Android or WP7 really do not have a interface capobilities with the boot partition or IPL of the HD2 it can not reset the values in the IPL to make the unlock permanent. I could be totally wrong though I am just going on what I do know about how the HD2 works, if I am please chime in and straightin me out as I would like to know. For one to see if I am right and two to find out what the real reason is.
Cheers
Would like reiterate what Fuzz99 said here.
I have a Tmobile HD2 and when I tried entering the unlock code via Windows Phone 7 7720, it came pin accepted but the phone was *STILL* SIM locked. However, when I flashed the stock WM6.5 Tmobile rom (got from the Tmobile site) back into it, the moment I entered the unlock code it immediately unlocked with everything working
Heads up to any Tmobile user facing the same problem
hey guys.
After you unlocked it using the stock ROM, did you then re-flash to another ROM?
IF yes, did it still remain unlocked?
Thanks,
yes it will forever remain unlocked, no matter what you do to it.
It needs to be on WinMo to unlock it? But I was able to put in the unlock code from T-mobile on NAND Android and use a FarEasTone SIM card just fine though.
yea i saw you post that the other day and thought it was strange. could it already be unlocked?

I don't think it was. I bought it on Craiglist here in the US and it was locked to T-mobile, so I asked the original owner to get the unlock code for me. I knew it was locked because when I put my FarEasTone SIM in, it prompted me for the unlock code. I put the code in [ I was on a Runnymede Sense ROM if that makes any difference], and I've tried it with my friend's AT&T SIM as well, and it works [ on 2G only of course, but still]. It's remained fine as well when changing from NAND Android to WM 6.5 to Mango.

Hey guys, I have had this problem and just found this thread after the fact. I may have spammed the code a little bit in frustration...22 times...
Now that I have reflashed stock WM it says i have to wait until timeout. Any idea if it is permanently locked or if I just have to bunker down and wait it out? Thanks so much.
Patience

Never encountered this personally, but as I heard, you should maintain it powered on and just have some patience...
Thinking it twice, you should be lucky to work after (just) 22 times!
Depends on the phone, some lock for a few hours after 5 attempts then accept another 5 then lock for longer, some take 10 then another ten a few hours later, but in most cases (never seen it, just what I've read) after so many tries they can only be unlocked by hardware cable.
No idea what the numbers and times are for the hd2 though.
You have tried 18 times, please wait until timeout..
I have an Htc Hd2..am i'm triyng to unlocked it..and i could'nt because my phone turn this screen with .."you have tried 18 times....."..i waited 24 hr..and for nothing..it's still the same..please help me..wait can i do?

please tell me if you find something...i have the same problem like you with my HTc hd2..18 times..thank you..
I have done an HD2 on 8 failed code attempts but not experienced beyond this.
If you can wait, give it 2 or 3 days, if in hurry or code input does not come available find a local cable & software unlock specialist.

[Q] Htc HD2 blocked on lock screen

hello all
a big problem ,my htc hd2 is blocked on lock screen with this message : sim card is locked ..no way to unlock this screen....i can't manage to unlock this ...i have tried many roms and hard reset no way ...it's impossible to unlock the locker screen to enter pin code...
need your help please
That sounds more like the sim not the phone. If you forgot the sim pin, ask your operator for a new sim
no it's not rhe sim ...i tried this sim on another phone and no prob ...it works fine
Maybe it's the Digitalizer..

Call your provider. It sounds like you need a different kind of sim card for this phone.
