Flash Back to Original ROM - Nexus One General

I didn't do a nandroid back up until after I rooted. My phone is crashing all the time during calls. I want to flash back to the original ROM just to eliminate that as a variable. Anyone know if there is a "factory" ROM out there that I can use to flash back to?

About 3 lines down from this thread, in fact.

Going Back to Tmobile Rom?

I am wanting to try a few things on my G1 before I get the mytouch 3g in a couple of days, but I have a friend that wants to buy it from me, but he isnt that tech savvy so I was going to put it back to the normal Tmobile rom, but I want to know if that is at all possible, since it is already rooted or is it once rooted always rooted? I try to stick to lurking but this is just something I am worried about because when I got my G1 it was already rooted so I know nothing about whats what on it, I knew everything about all the other phones that I had because I had done all the modifying myself. I am just cautious thats all. Thanks this is an excellent forum.

go back to RC29 then wait to see if it updates

Like I said I searched for everything I could think of and didnt find any information about going back to the original rom, about unrooting yes but not about the original rom.

No big deal...but I don't see anything in the OP about searching...but the short answer is yes, you can...just (as the above post states) reapply the RC29 image. I just did this on my wifes G1 to send it back as a warranty exchange.

Look at the stickied post with the label "***Informative Threads***" There is a link in there called "UNROOT, get phone to STOCK firmware"
After you follow the directions in the UNROOT thread and reload the original bootloader and RC29, flash to Cupcake. It will pick up the CRC1 update much faster that way, IIRC. I've uploaded Cupcake to my mediafire account.

Anybody have a link to the original HTC Sprint Hero rom that comes stock with it?

Its just in case i cannot find any good roms that i like.
Look in the sticky about roms above. They will be the RUU's.
VV check the signature VV
flashing a RUU will reflash the stock SPL/recovery/system/etc images right, is there a update.zip that would be the equivalent? this would be ideal for people flashing "mods" that are in the update.zip format since it wouldnt require re-rooting everytime to go back to "stock".
Flashing the RUU will return the phone back to moment you got the phone. Stock ROM. No custom recovery. No root.

Guys, the OP is clearly requesting an update.zip to stock, not an RUU. though i find it arbitrary to make an update.zip since the RUU would do the same exact thing
The RUU comes with a ROM.zip
Seems like it would just need to be repackaged as an update.zip

You can do the same thing yourself, if you make a nandroid backup right after you root, then wipe data, then backup. Then you can restore your first backup with your setting ect...
Does that make sense?

Well, technically after you root it, you can make a nandroid backup. If you do the backup right after rooting it, you'll have a backup of the Sprint ROM, although with root. But that should be fine seeing as you never mentioned returning it etc.

You really don't need to do that, people really need to open their eyes & actually look. I even already started the OP in the right direction.

Actually, I do need to do that. He asked for a link to the ROM. I have the RUU, which is the ROM, and I provided him with a link.
Sorry for trying to help the OP.

I would recommend reading everything in this thread. yes you can revert back to stock after flashing new ROMs. I highly recommend doing research before you start...that means searching. All the answers you will need are contained within existing threads.
Yes, you can restore the original ROM. In the guides to root it tell you to make a nandroid backup. That'll let you restore the original ROM.

Thanks to all and that is exactly what I was looking for. I have done some mods with a Tilt in the past but nothing with my Hero. Now to choose a ROM that still lets the Sprint Navigation work - don't care about most of the other apps that came with it.

What is PRI?

Hi all, I just unrooted using the stock RUU from flipz, and I noticed that although everything is back to stock, the PRI on the phone still reads "flipz_01." I have to take my phone in for service tomorrow, so what does this mean and will this affect my warranty in any way? I prefer to put it back to stock if possible. Thanks.

I got it directly from geekfor.me =/ So unless I did something wrong, it should have wiped it, right? I'm gonna try to do another wipe, hopefully that works.

I didnt have any battery problems at all lately today from 01.00 am till 08.am I have lost 30% battery.
Phone was in airplain mode and wifi off.
I check the battery historie for "wake locks" using that app few pages back.
"Android System" was on top of the list and was runnig all time...
Any advice how I can find out what caused this? If it would have shown an app that would have been simple....just remove....
Thanks!

Its been a while since I even thought about ruuing but I think there is an official ruu on the HTC website on the hero page, correct me if I'm wrong. You could try it instead. Or find the thread in the development forum by Impaler with the latest one. And did you say you were going to wipe again? To wipe you need root access which if you used the right ruu, you shouldn't have

Recommended way/ROM to revert to a stock Sense build?

Hi
I recently switched my rate plan and yesterday the new billing cycle started but now the data won't work. I've been on the phone with about 7 T-Mobile reps and none have been able to fix it. So I'd like to just go to the T-Mobile store, hand them my phone, and just let them fix it.
However, I'm running CM7 Stable and if they see that, of course they'll say that's the cause and blame it on that. So I'd like to flash a Sense build. What's the easiest route I can take to get back to a Sense build without losing root or S=OFF? (ie ROM recommendation -- there are just so many!)
I see all the ROMs here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=866175
Which one would be the best option for a quick flash (using CWR 3.0.0.0) so that I can take it to the T-Mobile store? (And then restore CM7 afterwards)
Thank you

You can just restore from your stock Nandroid, provided you have one (which you should).

Ya I will answer it for you but the guy above me already answered it for the most part. You can just restore a stock nandroid. Tiger13 has a post of a nandroid you can use in the dev section. It is also in the Resource bible. You can also pick one of the stock type of roms in the dev section such as Orange Glacier or Royal Glacier (Allthough it looks slightly different than stock)
Oh, and not sure why you would ask what one is easier to flash. They are all the same when it comes to that. You need to download and flash it. None are easier or harder than the other. My suggestion is to restore a nandroid and see if you data comes back. Me thinks it might.
And BTW you have severel guides in your sig I noticed. Maybe you should think about making one on following directions and smart practices like making a stock nandroid after you root your device.

Ah, thanks. I clicked on Tiger's thread for the stock nandroid in that huge list of links and read through it. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=845756 Looks good, I'll try that one. That's exactly the type of help I was looking for, just a pointer in the right direction, thanks. The guy above just worded it poorly.
Yeah, it was hard trying to write a title that captured what I actually wanted to say. But I didn't mean "Which is the easiest to flash?" but rather "Which ROM should I use to get back to a rooted sense build (so I can reflash CM7 after T-Mobile fixes it)?"
(In other words, what is the easiest method of CM7 -> Stock Sense but keep Root while at the T-Mobile store -> back to CM7 afterwards.)
I was thinking of making some guides but to be honest, this isn't my phone; it's my GF's I wouldn't feel right making guides for a phone that I don't have access to 24/7.

No prob and please dont think I am busting your balls or anything. I am not sure why 2.5.1.2 recovery is needed to flash the nandroid in tigers thread, but a nandroid like that will give you the stock look for sure. Most all the other roms have at least a few small visual tweaks.

Ah crap, ok, didn't realize 2.5.1.2 was required. Which ROM is the closest to stock then that still preserves root? The reason I ask is because there are 50 ROMs, but all have tweaks. I don't want to be at the T-Mobile store and have some tweak pop-up and then they say "hey wait a minute, did you hack your phone, get outta here!" etc.
Also, as we've found out, not all of them are compatible with CWR 3.0.0.0. So that's why I was asking. If someone knows a quick ROM that I can flash, that would be really helpful
couldnt i just take the [ROM]Glacier_TMOUS_1.17.531.2_Radio_12.28b.60.140e_26.0 3.02.26_M_release, posted by football, and throw it in the kitchen and add root permissions and super user and then he have everything he wants? if so i can do it as i have it already downloaded and in the kitchen so any devs, just let me know if my theory is correct and i will get it out there for him...
Easiest way is to make sure you got the latest clockwork(try Rom Manager and see if you got the latest clockwork), then boot into recovery, make a nandroid backup of your current setup. get the PD15IMG file from the Dev forum thread, boot into hboot and flash the stock image from there. that will make the phone stock except S-off will stick. Once done with t-mo, re-root with visionary(temp, then permanent), reboot a couple times and make sure root sticks and s-off is still there, go into recovery, wipe everything except the SDCARD and restore the nandroid backup, everything will be there from before. I've rooted/unrooted so many times lately that the process is not even hard anymore.
