Hello, this is my first post but I'm a long time lurker (I got a Touch Diamond 18 months ago but gave up on it in the end cos i couldn't be bothered having to use the stylus to type texts, so sold it and bought a 2nd hand N95 from Fleabay)
So anyway, I'm sat here with my wallet out and the siren call of the 'BUY' button calling to me from the mobiles.co.uk HD2 page.
I hope I'm making the right choice - I think I am.
The four potential problems I am - or have been concerned about:
The size - I was worried that it'd be just too big to go into my jeans pocket. I put my lad's iPhone in and it was ok but wasn't convinced so went to a shop and tried the dummy phone for size (I must've looked like a particularly stupid thief! )
The keyboard problems seem to be overcome with the tweaks or swype keyboard (I'm looking forward to trying that!)
The SMS problems 'seems' to be worked around with hotfix, disabling of the Sense UI or just sending a text to yourself.
I'm still a bit concerned with the screen wake up on sms - on the recent thread I'm reading it appears unresolved for some. But I'm optimistic that it'll be solved by contributors to this forum.
I've read this forum exhaustively to try to decide whether to get an iPhone which I know does everything it's supposed to very very well, or go for the HD2 with far more potential but with some quirks.
In the end I realise that by reading these threads for hours on end mean that I am willing to spend the time to get the HD2 working how I want it. But I do hope that there are no 'major' issues that will make the problems outweigh the gains, but I don't think they will.
So as the subject line says: Wish me luck!
Will do! Good luck matey
(You won't regret it)
Just do it
I am an ex-N95 user and I found it a great phone but the HD2 is fantastic. I have not loaded to much onto it apart from apps I have researched on here and have had absolutely no problems. My SMS works fine but is sensitive to a good signal so I check to make sure a message has gone if it is important. Fits pocket fine by the way and keyboard is fine.
I agree,
I was a little tentative after reading about various issues with the HD2 but being the gadget whore that I am I could not resist and took the plunge.
I am glad I did too. The HD2 is without a doubt the best phone I have ever had straight out of the box. I definitely did not get a Friday afternoon unit!
Absolutely love this phone.
EDIT: About the size - It's actually very usable and I dont have big hands (very small hands for an adult male tbh!). I tried using my old Touch Pro the other day I it just felt soooooooooooooooooooo dinky and the screen now seems unusable to me having used a 4.3" 800x480 display!!!
Go for it and good luck.
I took delivery of mine yesterday after deliberating exactly the same as you!
I've just come to the end of a contract on a HTC Touch Pro which I liked but the biggest issue for me was the screen size for internet access. Hence my decision on the HD2.
Still trying it. Not sure what I think at the moment. No screen protectors or case bundled in with the box which is a pain.
Stop right there!
Phew that was close!
I was about to sign up to a 12 month £40/m, 600 mins, unltd texts and internet, handset £89 (Total £570), but decided to have one last look at the price comparison sites.
I'm glad I did!
Virgin mobile are stocking the HD2 http://bit.ly/6tBFFr
18 month contract £25/m, 500 min, unltd texts, unltd internet, handset £79.99 (Total £530)
So it looks like I'm gonna be a Virgin
Good Luck. You are gonna feel like a king thats for sure...
You will love it, especially when iPhone users look at it with awe XD

After much huffing and puffing i have finally put the nail in my ATHENA experience for the past 7 months.
I have really enjoyed using it but it just falls short in a few major areas for me to continue.
1.Its just TOO BIG as a phone, its ok when im sat down but at weekends and evenings its just too annoying to carry about, removing the sim is like surgery so i dont want to do that too often
2. Its just TOO SMALL to be a half decent laptop, The browser sucks and how ever much you dress up WM6 its just Not XP!
3. I dont drive a car so GPS means nothing to me
So my missus has kindly given me her LG viewty upgrade as a early xmas pressie and today i finally won a bid on ebay for a black EEE pc so thats that.
The viewty is a cracking phone and it feels really weird to hold something so small again as a phone.
It can teach the athena a few lessons as well.
1. It plays back DIVX PERFECTLY full screen no jumping out of the BOX! why the athena is so crap at this is beyond me.
2.It streams movies and TV much better via ORB .. NO BUFERING!
3.Its compatable with Mobile TV .. SKY FOOTY for £5 here i come. You can even connect it to a TV like the Athena.
Obviously theres loads it cant do but too be honest i feel like i have dropped a burden carrying that thing about
with me.
If i was a regular driver and would use the GPS i would keep it, i dont really use any of the Office apps either.
So up on EBAY it goes , superlight weight LAP top and almost feather like phone here i come

Your contributions on these forums will be missed despite the idiot who posted the previous wasteful and utterly pointless previous comment.. i am considering a move away too and i have a choice of phones to keep and the sale of my Athena will fund my next purchase just waiting for reviews of the shift to see if i want one or not!!! Enjoy the eee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm thinking of trading in my Athena for a Viewty or N95 8gb, but they don't seem to be going for very much. I'd have to supplement my Athena (or rather, Ameo) about 90quid at Cex to get a Viewty.
How much did you get for your Ameo Spacecat?
I am still using the Ameo for mobile internet at which it is great, as a phone it is useless to be honest so I still use the Artemis for voice related stuff.
What I want next is the Touch Cruse as this has everything to die for as far as I am concerned, I have just got the wife a Touch (elf) and its a great bit of kit, add the extras the Touch Cruse has on board and this has to be the best combo unit going.
I very nearly got the Viewty yesterday, but I found the attraction of the Touch better - all I need to do is teach HID to use it! (this could take some time) - Mike

Sold my Ameo tonight.
Traded in a DS Lite and some games to get myself a new handset at Cex. This shop is not my ideal choice, but they offer a warranty that lasts a year and covers the phone being blocked (something that Ebay can't do). This turned out to be fortuitous.
I decided I quite like LG Viewtys (after initially deciding I don't). It was either the Viewty or the N95 8GB. Nothing else really holds a candle - sorry Sony Ericsson but you SUCK for web browsing and you DOUBLE SUCK for video recording quality.
I bought one Viewty, tried to make a phone call: blocked. Manager tested device; definitely blocked.
Second device: blocked
Third: blocked.
Unfortunately a man who turned up after me and immediately before I found out MY phone was blocked managed to obtain the ONLY ONE that WASN'T blocked. I cursed under my breath.
I now have £270 worth of CEX vouchers, valid for a year on any product. I wondered if perhaps someone could offer a suggestion of another handset besides the N95 8GB and Viewty which has....
A good browser
HSDPA
Decent camera with VGA movie recording
Those are my only requirements.
Please don't say the standard N95 - I gave the last one away to my fiance so don't wish to buy another.
Thank you

yes ive looked at that but it will be a long time before Cex have one of those for me to exchange my vouchers for.
Just out of interest, what is it that prevents the possibilty of hacking Vga 30fps capability into some of the newer windows mobile devices?
Is this capability entirely hardware driven?
Cheers Pawel

I went for the N95. I know I had one and I know I gave it away to my fiance, but I kind of missed it....
I've just installed the very latest firmware and I'm super impressed. The camera shutter and processing speed is IMPRESSIVELY improved and therefore much more useful than it once was. There's updated maps software, 30% higher battery life and everything just seems great. To be honest I prefer the reassuring tactility of a keypad to touchscreen impact, and for £100 less than the Viewty I don't think I'm missing out on it.
I will say that on second impression I did really like the Viewty, and if it wasn't for a gang of insurance phone blocking scammers operating in derby I would be using one right now, but maybe it does pay to go back to your old club.
I bought a Nokia N800 yesterday on Ebay for no less than 100 quid. Now with the official upgrade release of OS2008 on this device and the fact that the N95 supports SAP, as does the N800 I'm hoping the two will work together and give me a multimedia combination to rock the Athena's socks off.
someone else had the same idea....

Hi all,
Thinking about buying the HTC touch diamond 2. The thing is I like the look of samsung omnia 2, which has better specs than the diamond, however I prefer touchflo 3D and the form factor of the diamond and it seems a safer bet, plus it has the custom roms and excellent support of these forums
Now the diamond 2 has been out a while so would you still buy one now, or would you wait? Also are they usually reliable or are they prone to bad ones?
Cheers
I'd wait, Leo just got announced
that is, if you can wait
You should definately wait some months, don't buy a D2 then get dissapointed when HTC announce yet another phone. HD2 will definately be a phone you want to buy.
The Diamond 2 came out in April. Well that was 6 months ago. In 6 months the D3 will be out and so will other phones. You will be disappointed if you buy it now and learner that in 4 months a better phone will be out. I'd say upgrade to the HD2 or get the Omnia if you want it. I'm sure there will be a cook that will get TouchFlo3D onto it. Many people have it running on their Xperias. It's all WinMo so it all works the same.
TD2 is a fine phone and if it's in your budget and like the form factor then it's definately worth considering. You could wait for the next version but then you are playing the waiting game and you could end up without.
I have had the TD2 since it came out in the UK which is only some 6 months or so ago and I will be upgrading to the HD2 which is a phone with everything I need.
Although HD2 has almost everything I want in a phone I would never buy it just because of its enormous size. All of you guys are so excited about this device but none of you have had anything that big before. It would be very uncomfortable to carry it around. HTC Pure/Diamond 2 just came out here in the US on AT&T for a very affordable price. I don't know where you're located but if you're in US I highly recomend checking this phone out.
Cheers for the comments, I agree that the touch HD2 looks like an awesome bit of kit it just seems a bit on the huge size, and where at work I need to carry a blackberry around pocket space is hard to come by!
As a side note if I would get the touch diamond 2 I would get it on a 12 month contract so it would not be a huge amount of time to wait if say a snapdragon diamond 3 came out
Please keep the comments coming
I'd wait a few weeks and see what the n900 is like in the flesh. I wstched a couple of video's of it yesterday and I was taken.
Having had nseries phones up till I got my Diamond, O just wsn't immpressed with their touchscreen efforts, I went for the Topaz. Granted, ot is the best looking, both in terms of form factor, and the gui, my homescreem looks ****ing awesome for what is essentially a phone, and i'm on stock!
Having went onto maemos site snd had a hands on look at some of the developers using it, this thing looks amazing, the browser and desktop are totally stunning. The specs for it something else too.
Although the Topaz is highly moddable, most of them are to do with the look and user funtuality, not like the things you could do with a symbian device. Look for thing on here called phonejacker or something, I could do this on my n95, over bluetooth 2years ago, by simply running a python commamd, look at kerfuffle to get working on winmo. I could also use my phone as a wii remote. It's those type of things that I don't like about my Topaz, the potential to do things woth winmo, but after appearance, the nokia was better device.
If this kind of functionality can be brought to the maemo5 platform, then it's hasty goodbye this wonderful piece of eyecandy.
Why I don't doubt what your saying I have personally never been a fan of the symbian OS. Hence why I am stickign with WinMo its not the best but it does everything you want it just sometimes takes a long while to get there!
The n900 doesn't run symnian, it's on linux based maemo5.
The Diamond 2 is a great phone, and with the WinMo 6.5 upgrade will be as good as anything on the market.
The HD2 is way too big for my taste.
You can wait, but that is a perpetual cycle because there will always be a new phone coming out in a couple of months, so when do you stop waiting and actually get a phone?

Thanks Phil,
That kinda summs up where I am, the HD2 is an awesome speced phone but too big for me really, plus I have just got a 4.3" screen Archos 605 which will do a better job with video playback due to the higher colour pallet.
I think I just need to pay the money and get something, if something new comes out then a upgrade is a year away or just have to sell the TD2 and buy it sim-free worst comes worst. I know the TD2 has been out 6 month, but with the version just released in the USA I think it will most likely be sticking about for a while.

It's about 2/3 the thickness of the Topaz (about as thin as a pencil)
I see they've just added it to their products list I think it looks awesome!
I'm glad that some people realize how uncomfortably big HD2 is, and people who are waiting for this device will surely realize that once they get a hold of it.
Thank you everyone for you help,
Just ordered my Diamond 2 ! Very excited it will be replacing my old W850i

Yeah but the Pure is on AT&T. Most people wouldn't want to switch over for many reasons. Like they are under contract, They Have a better plan than they can get on AT&T, Their network coverage is better.
And for people like me we love unlocked phones. We travel internationally and it's great to just swap sim cards without having to call the SP to unlock the phone. It's just worth it to pay the moey. Especially when your the only one to have it an people ask what phone it is and if they can get it. And I say In 6-12 months mebe. ok I don't say that but I would.
And for me I have a $40 my faves plan with 1500 txt messages and $5.99 unlimited data plan on T-Mo. I pay about $56 after taxes and all a month. I can use every feature of the phone and it works great on edge an T-mo has nothing to say about it.
The HD2 seems big. The HD seemed big but over the summer I got to actually see one in person while in Greece and I regreted not buying it over the TD2. It was smaller and thinner than I thought and it fit comfortably in my hand. The extra money it would have cost over the TD2 though is what initially changed my mind If I new how it looked in person I woulda paid the extra money.
If the HD2 isn't much bigger I may opt for it. But I hate txting on capacitive screens. Txting is so much faster, easier, and accurate on resistive screens.

Actually read my first response above. 3rd paragraph. If people see it in person they may change their minds as I did with the HD. I would love to see it in person first before I buy it but many people may be surprised.
Make a paper/cardboard cut out of the size and try to imagine it.
Getting the phone unlocked is super easy...don't make a big deal out of it. I would love to pay less and get tmobile but I find tmobile's reception inferrior to att. HD2 may be thinner than D2 but why are you bringing up just the thinnes? What about the height 120.5 vs 107.9? What about width 67 vs 53.1? Now that's some difference.

comparing it to the TD2 there would be a differnce. but after holding a Touch HD the hight and wiidth didnt matter much because the thinness made up for it. especially when in the pocket.
What i was saying that if the HD2 wasnt much bigger than the HD than its worth it. The original HD was iphone sized with a larger screen. The HD 2 is a little taller and wider but thinner. a few mm aint that big a difference. But before i make final judgnent like i did with the HD I'd like to see it in person.
Hd is at the maximum tolerable size I think, and I quite like the design. Looks much more modern than HD2. Few mm on a phone is very noticable.
Personally, i was gonna get a diamond 2 but... yesterday the hd2 got anounced.... so i think im gonna wait a little while longer because the specs on the hd2 are amazing
I'm an owner of a T-Mobile Touch Pro2, and I'm looking to get an HD2. Before I purchase it, I wanted some opinions on this phone.
Does it run smooth? (doesn't have to-I did own a T-Mobile Wing )
Is it worth the $400?
Is there anything I should be warned about?
I'm thinking of having is as a second phone so I can toy around with my TP2
Does it run smooth? (doesn't have to-I did own a T-Mobile Wing )
Answer: Yes! It runs smoother then any phone I've ever had. It keeps amazing me every day and, if that sort of thing gets you off: it also amazes your friends I can't even begin to count the number of times ppl have said to me they though it was awesome and the screen was so big.. (also a great phone if you have to make up for something in the mid regional department )
Is it worth the $400?
Answer: I got it with my 2 year contract for (almost) free. I'd say this is a question which depends on the amount of cash you bring in each month. If it's a multitude of 400, then yes. If you're having trouble to purchase even the basic stuff, like an internetconnection and pr0n, then no, this is not a device for you.
Is there anything I should be warned about?
Answer: prepare to be amazed
There's a great community here to help you out and to provide with custom ROM's if the phone starts to bore you a bit or you just want more from it. Other then that, nope, nothing to be warned about (except maybe for the massive amounts of time you'll be playing with it...)

You should get the phone - I had MDA before before going to Nokia for couple of years - now I am proud to have HD2 as EVERYONE who sees it is amazed by it...
I just got my HD2 and I was upgrading from the TP2. I was concernen that I wouldn't like not having a keyboard but so far I love this phone. I mean, all I do is text, but the responsiveness and giant screen makes up for the slower typing.
i say its worth it i havent had real problems with it and it runs well.
i have one for sale that has a cracked digitizer it just needs to be replaced and it will be like new. It still operates fine it fell from a coffee table face down on tile and i do not have the time to fix it myself let me know in a private message if you are interested
So, I am not sure this belongs here, but...
Prior to my purchasing the HD2 I had a V3 Motorola Razr...yeah, big leap.
I carried a Dell Axim with me for everything else and was waiting on just the right phone. Pounced when I saw press for the HD2 months before US release.
I had never been a texter, twitterer, etc. I only ever used a phone for telephonic communication.
So, Monday we had plans to go to the Children's Discovery Museum with my six-year old son and my 4.5 month old son (yea-we are very sleep deprived these days).
We get there and it is closed. In our state of barely awake these days we kind of forgot that a lot of things are closed on Mondays. So my wife gets the idea to go to another Children's museum farther out, but realizes that we left the Garmin at home and gets pissed off. She also cannot remember the name of it.
Out comes my knight in shining armor...my HD2.
So I pull up Bing and say, "Children's Museum CT." Up pops the name and phone number. I call and they are closed. Then we think of the Maritime Aquarium. I say, "Norwalk Aquarium." Up comes the number and address. I call and they are open. Then I have Bing direct us to the place (as the wife whines that we do not have directions). We get there no problem.
Once there I am snapping off great photos left and right of my babes and zapping them up to Facebook at 3G speeds. I take a phone call and handle a work email as I am now synched with exchange (I know...shouldn't have on a family outing, but I am wired that way). I also emailed Netgear from one of my personal accounts about a problem with an RMA I am having with my ReadyNAS duo. I even played a rousing game of "Yacht II" in the museum bathroom...private stall.
I pull up Bing again after our trip and find a restaurant on the way home and look at their online menu to make sure they have food my son likes.
On the way home I text my Father regarding our plans on July 4th.
Clean it all up with my Task Manager and CleanRAM.
I sat back at this point fully satisfied with my techno purchase that has taken so much heat (and even a little flack from my wife) and I turn to her and say:
"Honey, if this thing could blow me, I swear I would divorce you and marry it."
I love my HD2
Thanks, Cam, for giving me a chuckle this morning. I'm so sick of reading how bad the phone is from those people that don't know how to use it. Great read!

I carried a Dell Axim with me for everything else and was waiting on just the right phone. Pounced when I saw press for the HD2 months before US release.
I had never been a texter, twitterer, etc. I only ever used a phone for communication.
So, Monday we had plans to go to the Children's Discovery Museum with my six-year old son and my 4.5 month old son (yea-we are very sleep deprived hese days).
We get there and it is closed. In our state of barely awake these days we kind of forgot that a lot of things are closed on Mondays. So my wife gets the idea to go to another Children's museum farther out, but realizes that we left the Garmin at home and gets pissed off. She also cannot remember the name of it.
Out comes my knightin shining armor...my HD2.
So I pull up Bing and say, "Children's Museum CT." Up pops the name and phone number. I call and thy are closed.
I take a phone call and handle a work email as I am now synched with exchange (I know...shouldn't have on a family outing). I also emailed Netgear from one of my personal accounts about a problem with an RMA I am having with my ReadyNAS duo. I even played a rousing game of "Yacht II" in the museum bathroom.
I pull up Bing again after our trip and find a restaurant on the way home and look at their online menu to make sure they have food my son likes.
On the way home I text my Father regarding our plans on July 4th.
I sat back at this point fully satisfied with my techno purchase that has taken so much heat and even a little flack from my wife and I turn to her and say:
"Honey, if this thing could blow me, I swear I would divorce you and marry it."
I love my HD2

Now, I'm sure we can find ways to make that happen, be it aided visualization or .....
Glad I could bring a little joy
All true too!
I even omitted some stuff like a multiplayer game of UNO and reading an eBook later in the evening.
I swear I love this thing.
Think HTC might use my tag line as a slogo? (HAH!)
Aw man...Classic! That has been the story of my life almost everytime we go on a trip!
Awesome story. My bro in law is still trying to flaunt his IP4G and I laugh as I destroy him doing everything. Nothing like the HD2 as my Wife has one also and has her head stuck in it leaving me plenty of me time! This phone is fabulous and I am so happy you use it properly!
yeah, coming from sprint's 3g, this thing is flying. On sprint I would get 500-700kbps. on t-mobile I am getting 2000-4000 kbps. Before, I would download podcasts at 50-70 kbps, now I get 300+kbps. Just downloaded the new eminem album in 4min.
Sorry Sprint, you were reliable, and I even have 4g in my area, but I wasn't jumping ship from Winmo to Android. And San Antonio is next on the list for the HSPA+ so it can only get better.
Only problem I have had with my HD2 so far is freezeups when I try to close file explorer and it is on the memory card. Lesson learned.
The Dell X51v was a bad ass lil machine. Saw they were selling now for $50 on ebay. I was actually thinking of picking one up just to play with and try a lil cookin.

Heres some iphone fun you can do at work. Launch your Youtube app and show everyone a badd ass HD video on youtube. Then have all your ATT 3g friends watch the same video on the iCrap. It will come out all crappy and low resolution. Then in front of everyone say damn your 3G is slow. Then turn on your wifi router and tell them to connect to your phone and watch the youtube video again. Then all the sudden theirs is in HD too. It makes ATT and iphone look like complete crap. I had 3 iphones watchign hd youtube on my inferior HD2 one night. The reason why this happens is iphone and att made thier app to only show low resolution video while on 3G, but full resolution on wifi. So when they connecto to your wifi it fools the iphone into thinking its local and runs in HD.
That was some story man. You know I have the exact same feeling that you so eloquently or should I say uniquely described to your wife. Just today I was looking at the HD2 lying on my microfiber cloth (I never leave it on a bare suface) and was thinking about how darn thin it is and just how much it can do. So many people complain about the HD2's size... I just don't get it. I am completely dumbfounded by the number of people giving away their HD2s for reasons people like us can't even being to comprehend. Sometime's I hate it when I think that this phone doesn't get all the appreciation that it deserves, but then I also realise that in a weird way it's good that this isn't as wide spread as the iPhone. It makes it more special to know that we belong to a select group that is more technologically evolved.
We've all come such a long way with our phones and PDA's. I was thinking about the long journey i've had with tech gizmos and how much things have changed and just how awesome they are now.
My HD2 does everything! This is what I used to dream of 10 years ago, hoping and wishing that some day i'd be able to do all this stuff on one device.
Wish came true. Just can't wait to see what HTC will bring us going ahead.
I honestly wouldn't mind an even bigger screen and hope to god that they include a trackball with the next one. A good replacement for the D-Pad that we all miss while continuing to look great.

+1...my exact thoughts on all of that. Well put, man
So I'm sitting in traffic the other day and fire up the Bing app. Lo and behold I discover they've eliminated my ability to lookup traffic on this device. WTF? And it won't reliably kick me over to the browser either.
Sure, it's a free app, but one that's kept me using a WM phone.
No longer. I'm off to go buy a Droid2. I've been waiting for a better phone and would've stuck with WM. But not when they take a perfectly good app and phone and destroy functionality on it. Who the hell thought this was a good idea? Couldn't they at least have handled the transition better? Yeah, yeah, I know they want to promote using more features and those require faster phones. But instead of giving me an upgrade path they've just alienated me as a customer.
WM7 just doesn't hold out enough hope at this point. I've got a Zune (gathering dust in a drawer), so I know the pain of failed expectations. MS has just totally dropped the ball in the portable market.
Truth be told I don't really need to use than many things on a phone. And it'll be a cold day in Hell before I purchase an iPhone. That company's policies are just despicable. Not that Google's any lily-white virgin either, but at least they don't censor applications and developers.
Goodbye WinMo, it's been nice while it lasted.
Brand new Droid 2 in my hands. Local store in Rockville had 80 of them. Talk to Daren there if you want decent help, nice guy.
First impression is it's almost the same size as the XV6800. A bit thinner and heavier and maybe a slight bit taller. But it's got a nice feel to it. Even fits in my XV6800's fabric sleeve. Oddly enough with all the cradle and holster options out there I prefer just using the sleeve and keeping it in my pocket. Even got a desk cradle for it. Out the door for $253 total, and that's before the $100 rebate. Gotta love NE2 promotions.
Android is a bit different. But like WinMo it's got plenty of ways "you can't get there from here". Editing contacts and such is different, but nearly as annoying as WM6.
Best impression so far? That the phone itself rings the first time, the same as what the caller hears. Annoyed the hell out of me on the XV6800, it wouldn't ring until at least one, usually two, rings had been heard by the caller. I had to change my voicemail ring delay because of it.
It's the little things, and that's what has pretty much killed the WinMo devices. There's just too many little things that suck. I wanted to believe in it but I've since given up. Ah well.
And now I've upgraded to a Droid4. Kinda miss the smaller form factor. And the old XV6800 sleeve doesn't fit it.
MS drove me away by abandoning my phone in the maps app, now they're driving away the winmo7 users by having no upgrade path to 8. Still not grasping the value of keeping customers. No chance I'll go back to an MS phone given this clear track record.
Meanwhile the D4 is nice, but the big win was rooting it and running wifi tether on it for use as a hotspot. Beats having to be limited to my 5gb/month on the USB modem (now a 10gb shared plan with the wife's ipad3-4g).
The old mogul was a good phone, we had lots of fun times and custom roms, winmo was glorious in its day, Microsoft just let it all slip away to android and ios.

Yes, it is sad that they quit supporting Bing for Windows Mobile. Have fun on your journey with Android!
I too finally ran out of spare 6800's and had to buy another phone. I went to Touch Pro for awhile and started cooking for it until I got a Droid X2.
It was a pleasure serving everyone and meeting people. The Mogul was a great phone and I learned a lot from it. Its funny how it just seems like yesterday.
Take care
Yes, it is sad to see this section of XDA closed... but, we must move on. The future awaits! =] For those still needing help with this device, check out PPCGeeks.com
