Today I was testing several builds and for convenience left all of them renamed in the RUU folder. After flashing the newest build multiple times (all were successful) and doing several HRs I began to worry as nothing changed from the previous build and it seemed like the flasher or the device was ignoring the flashed firmware. Then it turned out RUU was using the wrong nbh for flashing.
Seems like it chooses the first .NBH it finds in the folder:
ruu_signed-0.92.nbh
ruu_signed-llllllll.nbh
ruu_signed.nbh
Never put multiple NBHs in one folder! Don't let the flasher make an idiot of you.
yea your not alone ive done it before, flashed my blackstone 7 times no change, then relised i left the BLACIMG.nbh in the release folder...
I've never had such problems! Even now I have two different nbh files and only the correct name is flashed!
Correction: Do you mean in windows or in the device? I keep my nbh files in the mSD Card

I meant using RUU (ROM Update Utility), the Windows flasher.

Oh my bad!
But with HSPL avaliable why do you need to use the RUU?

HSPL doesn't abandon using RUU. I find it more convenient than flashing from SD. Choice is a matter of taste.

because when you flash multiple times in an hour with different roms, its an extra step that slows down the process i think

Can't seem to change my rom. I hard spl'd my phone, it reads on the bootloader SPL-2.08.HSPL 8G XE. Im running OS version 5.2.21892 Manila version 2.5.2012 Rom version 2.13.531.1 and Radio 2.11.50.20. I have no problem when flashing the radio, works every time but when I flash a new rom it doesnt change after it shows installation was successfully done. And I've tried flashing roms from all sources, energy, kumars, omega, etc...Any ideas why this is happening and what can I do to successfully integrate a new rom to my hd2?
Odd one, not hearsd this before, not something silly like you have an image of the stock rom on your sd card? or you are running customruu.exe in a folder with more than one nbh file in the same folder?

explain this a bit more if you can. I do have a set folder for all my rom downloads. And im not sure about the stock image thing in my sd card?
well lets say you have rom1.nbh and rom2.nbh in the same folder, with customruu.exe, you can run customruu over and over again, and it will always install rom1.nbh, cos its first alphabetically.
Being in sub folders is fine, but there should only be romfile.nbh and customruu.exe in the folder, no other files.
If you dont know about image on sd card, then it wont be there, else you would know about it.
thank you so much sam, i will try this and get back to you.
WOOOOOOOOW I cant believe it was something so simple like this i sure feel stupid..lol thank you so much!!!!
hehe no worries, better to make a silly mistake than a bad one.
Hi there,
I've downloaded, unzipped and tried to install the froyo twice on my HTC HD2 but it never seems to complete the installation, it stays on the installation screen like for ever until I get tired and take the batteries out for a restart.

give it up to 20 minutes on first boot
Thanks for ur response, I'll try it and let u know what happens.
Tried it again and left it to run for like an hr and still nothing happened, but this time I read the proceedings and realized it said "couldnt file root on SD card"
rootfs file might be zipped. If it is unzip it and put it into your android folder. If it is there and not zipped format your SD card and try again. Also what radio are you using? Make sure you copy all the contents into an android folder and then copy the android folder to your SD card as well.

Do only some have to change startup.txt? All I did was move the android folder to my card and I've been rollin' FroyoStone all day, no problems.
I have invited a couple of chefs to add this package to their ROMs if they are interested. I am surprised there is not more interest.
This is the package for AmazonMP3 that is working now. I extracted it using HTC ROM Image Editor from the new T-Mobile Leo 3.14.531.1 ROM for HD2.
The old AmazonMP3 cab that has been around since February never worked - you could search, browse, even sample songs, but it would not authenticate with Amazon servers. I flashed the new TMOUS ROM to my HD2 just to test this new version and it worked. The only requirement is to have an Amazon account, and "1-click purchase" turned on, but thats it!
I then extracted the package, and installed it on my Elegancia ROM, but was not sure exactly which folders to put some of the files - I had tried to manually copy files from a fully flashed ROM and put them in the same folders on my phone, but it failed to fully authenticate. So with this package, I just put all the files in a single folder on my SD card It works!
This is NOT the way I like to do things, even though it works correctly - It even keeps a download history. So,here is the full package, all set for adding into someones kitchen, or, better still, making a nice cab for the community.
Package attached.
Link to T-Mobile Official Update: http://dl.htc.com/ruudownload/t-mobi....aspx?pid=leo2
Here's a link to the leaked version of the ROM that Football posted about 3-4 weeks before the official one was released. Not sure if it has the same package as I did not have time to check. Providing the link in case you do not have a serial number that allows download of the official:
Sorry ALL - My zip file was pooched... Attaching a proper one now!!!!
Im going to sound like a noob and im sorry in advance but i downloaded your file and went to unzip it on my computer and there is nothing there at all. Maybe its something i am doing. I dont know. Next off is there any way you can just make this into a cab file like the old one was? I am very interested in this and flashed the t-mobile rom just because of this file.
This is only a empty zip file...
I would LOVE to, but...

If you read a bit closer, I state (perhaps not too clearly) that this is as much as I could accomplish. I COULD make a cab, but I do not know how to make one for a package of this type. (To install it all in the correct folders) In fact, I am still poking around the TMOUS 3.14 ROM for a provisioning file that shows what an installers steps would be... I put the package up with the hope that someone more familiar with that would either make a cab (preferably) or incorporate the package in their ROM (good, if I can use that ROM, LOL)
I would LOVE to, but...

can anyone help me how to make nand file when i have sd file cuz i cannot install from my sd card i need to install directly
thanks
I am not sure that I understand what is your exact problem. But if I'm right and you can not install rom from SD card and want to install it directly from computer, maybe you should try to use DAF versions ?

yes but there is only one daf version and i want to know how to convert the sd version to daf version
That's not very easy. You'd have to edit the intrid.gz and and zImage and other things to make it work. More effort than it's worth. What ROM you looking for? Is it a .zip SD card file or and Android folder type?

To the point - the fact you're asking this question leads me to believe you're not skilled enough to know how to perform all of the changes this would require.
My suggestion is you forget about the SD version and make the move to the NAND Android instead.
The DAF version is a way for Windows to put Android on your phone through the built-in bootloader onto the NAND chip on your phone. SD android is a completely different structure and you'll never find an "SD DAF" Android.
could you perhaps extract the system folder from the CWM zip, then use mkyaffs2image to build a system.img and drop that in place of the original system.img from the DFT version? (and teh same with the boot folder boot.img too, i would assume)
Or is that make believe?

Extracting the system folder from CWM zip wont work. Its because during the zip installation the updater script is beeing called and it creates a lot of symlinks. So, if you just extract and convert, you will miss the whole bunch of symlinks (and permissions, etc..)

We're limited to either SD or CWM install, are we?

Heh, dig deeper.
The op is limited to usb only so yea, in this case we are limited to daf only, and he finds there isn't as wide range of daf roms, hence the perfectly reasonable question.
which part of the original post can't you understand?

I'll assume your lack of English skills is the reason you've totally mis-understood every single thing i've written in this thread.
If I've missunderstood, it can only mean that even though it didn't sound like it, you do agree with me, in which case appology accepted, lets say no more about it.
Hi, I know that to take off the custom roms, you need to flash the stock rom but how do you remove android, clockwork mod, and magldr off the phone? my phone has been acting up and i need to send it back through the hd2 insurance but i need to reset everything first. Thank you!
i need help how i can restore all settings plz help me
Download the spesific rom for your device from the HTC website. Eg if you are on the HD2 o2, you would download that rom. It comes as an .exe file.
Right click on the file and extract the contents to someware on your desktop, look for the .nbh file. Cant quite remember the name but it will be the biggest file. Rename it to leoimg.nbh and copy it on to your SD card.
Make sure it is the correct rom for your phone or it wont work.
Once you have done this reboot the phone and hold the volume down button at the same time to get into the boot loader. It will then prompt you to install the rom. This will remove everything and restore back to factory default for you and reinstate your warrenty!
Next time you shoud use the search button. If you had did this you had found this thread about it http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1066852&highlight=restore+factory
Good luck!

In order to continue proper drivers must be installed. Check if when connecting usb there is on screen "USB". However if you install the exe file your SPL will not be restored to original.
If you want to return it to factory you need to do it via SD card. Or by exe but you then have to install SPL manually.
Try again, rename the largest nbh file to leoimg.nbh put it to sdcard root and reboot to bootloader.
Bootloader is the one with 4 different colors. To boot powerup phone and hold Volume Down key.

There is "USB" on the screen and I believe i have the proper divers installed.
I downloaded the 3.14 t-mobile official rom and renamed the largest file (.nbh) to leoimg.nbh (and i tried LEOIMG.nbh, if it makes a difference for the CAPS) but nothing appeared on the bootloader screen. I tried to install the rom by the .exe file because i would rather get the official rom on so i can remove hspl manually but the "Next" button is grayed out. It won't let me go onto the next step. :/
What size sd card did you use? It usually wont work on a card bigger than four gigabytes. Try it on a class two, four gigabyte or less micro sd card.
Sent from my HTC HD2 using XDA App
i tried using a smaller sd card (4 gigabytes) and had no luck. the "next" button is still voided out..
