Hello, everybody!
The problem is: my HD2 everyday at the SAME time do soft reset by itself.
I think one of the installed programs may cause this, but i've installed only several tested programs: Resco FE, core player, MobiReg, SlovoEd(multi-lang dictionary), NETCFv35, some Spb games - that's all. Has anyone met such a problem?
Thanx for help in advance!
There is option in MobiReg to force Exit (Go to Advanced -> Options -> Show exit). Once you have that checked, you will be able to exit MobiReg completely. That way nothing of it will be left around so you can at least be sure that it is not one doing resets.

as of yesterday, i noticed that after my phone was on the charger and went on standby for a bit, hitting the power button to revive it would get no reaction, i would have to soft reset it so this is annoying...
and not only that, i find myself soft resetting quite too frequently, few times a day. is this normal? and can this b bad for my phone?
i do love the phone tho
thanks in advance for any help
Firstly soft re-setting will not do any harm, in fact some folks set device up to run a third party application to soft reset at certain intervals just to ensure nothing un-toward is running or going to crash device.
There are quite a number of people who find a crash on coming out of standby.
I'd start with the routine stuff to check first: (which you may well have checked already!!)
1. Did you install a new application near the time when problems began? If so try uninstalling it. If tracked to a particular application you may still be able to use it with new settings. Can you also try temporarily removing the pocket weather application?? - this may be attempting an internet connection.
2. when putting onto charge you use your HTC X button to check nothing is still running and all is fully closed.
3. Providing you are not using Push mail, you ensure Active Sync does not start up, by using e.g. The Fake Server Trick
See how that lot goes first

Hi! I have HTC Hermes and when im trying to multitask, my programs close in background, for instance, im listening to S2P and i minimize it then open resco file explorer or htc album or some other application, the S2P closes... or i have Slick (IM client) turned on, and i minimize it, then i surf the web in netfront or opera and the slick closes... this doesnt hapen every time, its just random, but it happens almost always Is there any way to fix this? or some setting that would help me somehow? I tried like 3 different roms but the problem stays, im using "MRH 9.0.1 Valerian" ROM right now. Can this be caused by SPB mobile shell because i installed it every time... If someone knows something that could help please respond thank you very much in advance.
Not sure if this helps but check the registry. I think there's a setting there that automatically gets the task manager to close programs to free up memory. If you cant find the key just install schaps advanced config-->go to HTC task manager-->Make sure auto kill is set to disabled. I find the second option easier.
autokill
I did not find that option in the advanced settings, but i managed to find a registry key "EnableAutokill" with value "1" in registry editor and i changed it to "0". hope this works. i will test it for a while and then i will share the results with you. Thank you very much for this tip
Edit: It works perfectly!!! Thanky very very very much! I wish you merry Xmas and happy new year!
well.. i had the HTC task manager installed and disabled the auto kill.
now the program doesnt kill themselves anymore.
but when it ran down till around 7mb, the programs are all closed except opera which im running on.
i couldnt find the registry key "enableautokill"..
Hi all...
Before Blackstone, I used Hermes with TouchFLO ROM and minor upgrades and tweaks...
I'd love to make this precious stone more precious...
But..
Have bunch of questions before that...
1. First of all, I didn't jet do anything cause I don't know which version of .NET frameworks I got...
Where can I check it...?
I tried to install 3.5.1 version for Windows 7 which I run, but installation could never be completed without unknown error...
2. Both Hermes and Blackstone have anoying thing when receiving data via bluetooth...
So, when I want to activate it on my phone, I go to - Settings tab > Communications > Turn on Bluetooth ant then go to Settings > Bluetooth > Mode tab > check mark "Make this device visible......" to be able to recieve files from other devices...
Can I change this somehow....?
3. I'm using FingerKeyboard2 but cannot make it to open at startup...
I installed SIPchange app but it won't to accept changes when setting FingerKeyboard to be default.
4. How can phone go to landscape mode, when it's rotated? (I'm sure it can be done)... With some app or...?
When looking photos, if I rotate it, picture also rotates...
Thx for replies...
Hi. I've had trouble syncing my Touch HD this past few days - I think it may be to do with Phatnotes as the PPC disconnects everytime it is part way thru' syncing Phatnotes. Anyway, I thought I would try to remove this program but when I go to Settings -> Remove Programs - no programs at all show up in the list - blank! I have done a soft reset but nothing. Any ideas?
I'm hoping no one tells me to do a hard reset! I have stock rom and about 35mb of storage left.
Thanks,
Phil G, South Wales
Hi,
Try to reinstall some of your program. And look if its appearing in REMOVE PR..
* First, it’s to say sorry if my English looks not nice to you guys, I’m from Thailand.
I’ve an experience so far with a problem whenever I use Windows Live Messenger coming with standard/official ROMs (my own Mitac Mio 702, HTC Touch Pro 2 & HTC HD2). After fresh boot (soft-reset or even hard reset), opening and signing in the messenger are just fine. But it will last not more than 6-10 hours as it would be noticed that the messenger is automatically signed off or it (the messenger) may be frozen with its last session screen. And then the next sign-ins will not be success and an error widow shown on screen saying something like it couldn’t connect to internet service. And now, you need to perform soft reset in order to make it work again.
If you ever have the same situation, my trick written below might be helpful to you. If you don’t, just skip this thread.
* However, the solution is at your own risk.
I’ve noticed that the WLMService.dll or the Windows Lives Service is the key problem. Somehow, it causes the services.exe crashed/reset as you will see that the memory usage of services.exe is about zero. Normally, the services.exe should be about 2-6 MB in normal operation since your phone started. You can check the memory usage with software like MemMaid, I use FdcSoft Task Manager.
My own solution is as follows,
1. Kill the running Windows Live Messenger and any related programs. (I use FdcSoft Task Manager for doing this.)
2. Close ALL Windows Live items on the Today Screen.
3. Remove any startup programs related to the Windows Live.
4. Kill the running WLMService. You may need to stop the auto-startup and soft reset once. (I use FdcSoft Task Manager for doing this.)
5. Get into the registry and DELETE the following root keys;
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows Live
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Today\Items\Windows Live (anything related to Windows Live)
HKLM\Services\Windows Live
* You need to ensure that all keys said above are really deleted. If some item couldn’t be deleted, please re-do the step 1-4. You need to ensure that the WLMService is not loaded.
6. Install Windows Live 10.6.0034.0800 on your DEVICE (not on memory card). This version seems to be old, however, I’ve tried the newer versions but they did not cure the problem. Beside, I like this old version since it allows me to copy the typed text shown on the chatting screens.
Installing the Windows Live forces you to soft reset. But then your HD2 (or other win-mo phones) may not need to do soft reset for months like mine.
Thank you for reading & thanks for all things I’ve learned from here.
