Hello,
Id like to know where to increase the number of mails that stay on the phone, default is 50 and i have over 2000 in my inbox, id like to have the last 100 or 200 of those on the phone.
Thanx
Open windows mobile device center (this is for win 7, but should be same/similar whatever you have) - mobile device settings - change content sync settings - email sync settings - 'sync the past' then a dropdown, all messages, past day, past week, whatever. Also there is settings for headers only, or whole message, etc.

With t-mobile UK, there was an app called EmailWiz included not sure if that part of normal outlook, anyone this was just wizard based method to setup email accounts. It has disappeared.
2 - New Acount is greyed out, I have on way of creating a new account.
3 - Options : When I go to an email account and go to options, there nothing there about being able to setup intervals to auto delivery email, or any type of filters.
Can someone PLEASE help me get these things back, or if I could re-install pocket outlook apps, not sure where to get that only from.
windows reboot solved new account, never found EmailWiz.
However interval settings was me being an idot and not using the options correctly.
A plugin for interval to run at certain times would be well handy.

To keep your GPRS alive if you want:
1) Go to the following registry entry:
"HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\ConnMgr\Providers\{7C4B7A3 *****}\Connections\GPRS*****\"
2) Change "Always On" 0 into 1.
---------------------
Then:
Go to Inbox.
Menu -> extra -> create new account.
Enter your email adres.
Enter your name, username, and password.
Account type: POP3
Name: Whatever you want to choose.
Incoming mail: pop.YOURPROVIDER.com (for example: pop.gmail.com )
Outgoing mail: smtp.YOURPROVIDER.com (for example: smtp.gmail.com)
If you want to let it automatically check your email,
then choose options, and you can fill in the time interval.
If you enter 15 for example, it will check you email every 15 minutes and
lets you know automatically if there is mail.
You mail will be kept on the server, so you can check and store your email
on pc also later.
Choose next.
Choose "download headers only"
Check and choose and enter 999 kb. (this is necessay for providers like
gmail, for most other providers the preset settings are ok)
Finish.

the problem i am having is that when i recieve email oon my desktop, i cant recieve it on my 8125... will this allow me to do that??
Once your email is opened/received on your desktop the mail will not show up anymore on the phone. That is my experience.
For me its not an issue, as when I read it at home, I do not need to read or receive it again on the road after that.
And when I am on the road it will first show up on my phone, after that when I am at home I download from the server with my provider.
But perhaps your problem can be solved by leaving all your new incoming mail on the server with your provider when your pc already received it. That should be possible. Perhaps in that case your 8125 can also pick it up after your pc opened it.
I am not sure why you would want your pc to pick up mail first and still need to open it on your mobile phone after that, but you can also read you mail
with your pc by using POPPY ( http://www.yoursurfice.com/Content/Home/Home.htm ).
This way the email will stay on the server with your provider,
and you will still be notified on your Mobile equipment ass well.
The setup I gave you does work if you do not let your pc (outlook)
let email check automatically when you are away from home
or on the road.
If you are on the road, then you auto check mail with 8125.
and you can delete it ass well, as it will stay on the server.
Once your back home, you download all mail from teh server,
and store in outlook.
Then put on auto-check again in Outlook if you want that.
Thats the way I do it.
Or just install poppy.
It will also check you email automatically, but leaves it on the server,
when read without outlook.
This way you can also remove spam/virus like garbage and download
the mail you ony want to receive.

thats what i need. i want tow copies because alot of times i will read the email on my pc then i will wait later and reply to the same email using my phone thats why i need two copies... one on my desktop and one on my 8125.
what exactly is poppy? i use outlook 2007 and would hate to give that up just to have two copies...
another problem that i am having is that when i have email i my inbox, and i go select send and recieve, if i have any new incoming messages, they are deleted and are replaced with the new messages... is there any way to stop that??? is there some simple way just to push the mail to my 8125
Thanks for all your help so far!
Poppy is a very helpfull program that work independently.
You can still use outlook as always.
Poppy only works in the background. It will contact your provider automatically if you want and gives you clear signals on screen if there is new mail on the server with your provider. This way it is not downloaded yet to your pc, so you will still be able to pick the signals up automatically with your Mobile phone as well.
You can not use Poppy to send email, of respond with it. If you want that you simply start up Outlook after that.
But its helpfull, as lots of times you will also recieve spam/viruslike attachements etc. And with Poppy you can immediately delete them from the server without actually downloading them first to your pc.
Now, for your second problem (deleted email from mobile phone) I would like to refer you to some other Threads on this site. I have read about it in the past, so please do a search. It is there somewhere.
If I find it, I lett you know.
Or perhaps someone out there can help with this ??
This is the most simple and easy way I found for myself.
I would not know how to do it else.
The email app in the htc, only shows 50 items at a time. any way around this? Also, only my inbox seems to get synced and none of the other folders.
Than x in advance guys.
Go to start> extra.. choose active sync.
Menu > Options... select E-mail, choose on bottom from your screen "settings".
You can now change if you want to download older mail and change attachment settings. This gives me more then 50 e-mails.
Hope its clear (have a dutch OS)
I did find this registry entry to change the max header for hotmail emails. Default is 50. I tried changing it to 75 but no luck. Anyone?
HKLM/Services/Windows Live/Plugins/Mail Max mail headers (50)
Haven't tried this but how about adding the hotmail account using the tip for adding a second account. That way you don't use windows live and you get all the settings you would like a normal email account?
Hi Guys,
I have a problem on receiving notification when receiving emails in my exchange mailbox but filtered to subfolders of main INBOX.
It's very important for me as I'm missing e-mails without notification and I need to check each subfolder manually for new mails, which is unacceptable.
I contacted HTC couple of days ago and they were not aware of this problem. *shocked*
Is there are any workaround on this, I'll be forced to flash a vanilla rom and put spbshell if this is not resolved in near feature.
Or change the phone, which will be the easiest.
You mean you have set it up and it is alreadyn syncing to subfolders correctly, and what you need is the mail notification?
I thought this was how Windows Mobile has always worked?! - which is why HTC is not aware of the 'problem'.
Certainly, WM 6.1 Pro did not alert for new messages in sub-folders (even though they were sync'd and downloaded).
I found a solution:
in outlook 2007 go to Tools --> Rules and Alerts. edit the rule for the subfolder you want notifications for. Activate "display a specific message in the New Item Alert window. The message doesnt matter. Now your HTC HD2 with sense UI will notify when you receive a message in a subfolder.
A small negative side effect is the pop-up in your outlook

And just in case someone is using the Outlookanywhere web app to read his e-mails (so I synchronise the phone by an Internet connection, and not with the computer)?
I have had this problem now and then with everything from the original ROM to the Leo MaryOne ROM I'm running now (which is btw fantastic - better than any of the other cooked ROM's I've tried, and all of those have been better than the original). Even though I've checked that the box for E-mail sync isn't ticked in the setup on the desktop or the HD it still transfers all the mail when I get mail on Outlook 2003. Any idea how I stop this, it's downright annoying behaviour!
active sync > menu > options > select MS Exchange (if you have multiple accounts) > Delete.
Nope, sorry. No MS Exchange there. I don't work in a company that has it either. The only thing that's there is Windows PC, which is the workstation notebook I use.
i was just going off my phone (which is to corporate network).
going back to that same menu (where it lists your laptop) - is email ticked?
try removing the computer entry and see if you still recieve email on your phone.
i could be wrong, but i think any email sync is handled by activesync.
ok, activesync doesnt handle non-corporate email...
i've found more account settings (using wm6.1)
- goto your inbox (so you can see the overview of your email)
- tap Menu
- tools > Options
- press and hold the mailbox you wish to delete
- select delete!
Thanks, but I'm afraid it doesn't cover my situation. I have the mail account on the cell phone as well, so I can check mail on the go (or in bed, which makes my wife crazy...), so the account is necessary there. What I can't understand is why the PC insists on syncing the mail to the phone even if I haven't ticked the box for it. The phone does not check mail automatically (I only check mail when I'm on WiFi, not on 3G - that's too damn expensive here in Norway, so it's not doing it automatically), so that's not where the mail comes from. And the really weird thing is that it only happens now and then, not at all consistent. And this has happened on Windows XP, Vista, 7, 2K3, you name it. I guess I'll just have to live with it.
Thanks! I've actuall had the same problem on earlier phones, like the Atom Life. What I can't remember is if I had this problem before I went Windows 7...
