unlock? - Imagio General

how do you reset the automatic lock i disabled it but can not reinable it? thanks

Click on the top bar (where the battery indicator is, just to the left of the task mgr)-->press the button to the right of the battery charge percentage (looks like the previous battery indicator)-->Select the "advanced" tab-->Adjust as you wish, just make sure all boxes are checked and you select an appropriate delay. I currently have mine set at 10 seconds and 1 minute for both "on battery power" and "on external power." This should cause the phone to auto-lock after each respective delay period.

thats how i have it set right now. and its still only going to sleep after a period of time its not locking .
i ran this program
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=4996782&postcount=2961
then i uninstalled it cause i didnt like the lock screen on s2u2 all boxes are checked.

i ran the same .cab awhile back. the only thing that put it back was a hard reset.
also just so you know, installing the dusk slider screen will revert you to the old winmo locker when you uninstall it. so beware of that too

how do i do that? will it wipe the data?

You will need to reverse the registry changes that the cab made, then your lock will work again, make the following changes in your registry:
HKCU - ControlPanel - Keybd - DeviceLockWhenSuspend - change value to "1" from "0" (no quotes)
HKCU - ControlPanel - Backlight - AutoDeviceLockEnable - change value to "1" from "0" (no quotes)
Hope that helps, had the same problem

thank you very much

well i have not gotten this fixed but that is ok i have tried alot and i am used to the manual lock which isnt bad and the screen shuts of in 10s and it goes to the last screen which isnt to bad.

Registry edits get reverted after reset

Does anybody know why this happens:
Whenever I change registry (for example HKCU\Control Panel\SIP\..), after reboot it gets reverted to original value.
I used Total Commnader. Roms I tried: 2.17 (qtek) and 2.24 (cingular).
Help appreciated.
Thanks.
after changing your registry, be sure to save the changes by a soft reset. To do this, do NOT poke the reset hole with your stylus, but rather shut the device down with the on/off button. Hold it for 5 secs untill the warning pops up. By resetting this way, your device uses the 5 secs untill the screen pops-up to write the registry to the ROM. If you soft reset immediately with your stylus after chaning the registry, the device has not enough time to write the changes to the ROM. Therefore, after a quick soft reset with your stylus changes might not be saved and the registry remains unchanged.
Problems with Registry settings
I also have problems with Registry settings. For instance some values seems to change back after a turn off/on (power button). Does anyone have a good doc/link that explains which Registry settings that actually can be changed by CAB-files and stay changed ?
Just to mention - on an SP5 (sorry for this in Wizard/K-JAM) I had a CAB-file that changed the Contacts soft-button into starting a 3rd party application. This only changed when an incomming call/phone application was started..a little confused about that

Is there a way to 'de-skin' wm5 or switcht to a 'faster' 1?

Hi, you know how on Windows XP you can disable the whole 'theme' service, all the shadows, alpha blending etc and the system runs much faster?
Well, I'd like to do that with my Universal. Does anyone know if it's possible at all? TIA!
From the Universal WiKi pages (http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Universal_Registry)
To set or remove the operator phone skin
The setting is at 'HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Security\Phone\Skin'
The 'Enabled' DWORD value can be set to '1' to show the operator skin or '0' to show the default skin
How to Disable the Start Menu Animation
Go to the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\GWE\Menu key.
Set the "AniType" value data to 0 (Set to 6 to return to full animation).
Soft reset.
How to Enable Window Animation
Go to the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\GWE key.
Set the "Animate" value data to 1 (Set to 0 to return to no animation).
Soft reset.
Yup, done those. But I was more talking about the wallpaper and stuff like that. Completely remove the wallpaper and so on.
Wallpaper and stuff won't make much difference. Best bet is to hardreset, skip the extended rom, and thus completely disable all phone skinning, which is an enormous PITA drain on the CPU.

turning off keyboard vibrate?

Hi all ...just got the HD2 yesterday ...so far fairly impressed with it ..battery usage is a little scary down to 58 after 15 hours and most of those hours where at night ...but still got to be kind of realistic with the size of screen and cpu it has anyway could anyone help/tell me a way to turn off the vibrate function will typing on the keyboard... I’m finding typing is not a problem at with the standard setup just the annoying vibrate feedback ...ive gone through all the menus on the phone looking for the option to turn it off but nothing found also quickly checked the forum to, and didn’t see anything???..
thanks
Go to the settings tab, select the topmost option for adjusting background, tabs, etc. On the next screen you'll find an option for turning vibration feedback on/off.
Actual names might be different as I'm using a Dutch language ROM.
thank you ...was looking in the wrong place ..(the keyboard setup menu)
HD2 (Leo) Disabling keyboard vibration
Thank you..You are absolutely correct.. missed this one and was looking in all other places.
Its located under Sense UI settings > Personalize > Vibration
Thanks again..

doing this doesn´t disable the vibration on my keyboard what can i do?
Settings -> Personalize -> Vibration. Untick the box for 'Vibrate when I tap buttons in HTC Sense,....'
doing the above will also lose the feedback vibration while clicking the tabs in homescreen...... the other simple way to only disable vibration in keyboard alone is do the following registry tweak
Using Resco Registry, go to Hkey Local Machine / Software / HTC / ezsip
Add a new DWORD Value string and call it "VibrationEnabled" (without the quotes) and give it a value of 0.
then Soft reset and enjoy!
or install this cab.

I used this some time ago an it worked but on original not clone:
A new RegDword, binary:
- HKEY CURRENT USER/ControlPanel/Keybd
- defaultkeylock from "1" to "0"
- then Soft Reset
So I suppose it does not work on clones.

[Q] How to hide the GSM line icon

Is it possible to hide the gsm line icon "1" from the titlebar in WM 6.5 ?
Good question! I hate the "1" in my task bar!
Seems it can't be done...
in registry edit this key, works instantly.
Code:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Drivers\BuiltIn\RIL]
"ALSService"=dword:00000000
one flaw: gets re-enabled with every phone restart...

a mortscript can solve that
paste a .lnk to this script into /windows/startup
regwritedword("HKLM", "\Drivers\BuiltIn\RIL\ALSService", "0")
BTW, what other icons can you dissable like this on the topbar?
Rn
hehe, been at this point 2 years ago... ^^
mortscript won't work this way. the reg-key get's reset with first pin-unlock after reboot, not during boot-process itself (startup-dir). so, unless you can trigger the script with pin-unlock, it would get set to 0 during boot, after pin it get's set to 1 again.
i tried with a startup-link to a reg-file back then, works the same way as mortscript (reg-files associated to sktools, resco would work too). settled with opening that link manually once after unlock.
(enabling flight-mode and then re-enabling phone doesn't bring the line-icon back, it's really just the very first pin-unlock after reboot)
dunno about disabling any other icons in taskbar, but them i want anyway.
In my ROM I remove the icon and edit the registry.

i thought that mortscript had a problems with windows/starup/ - in that case it also has a problem with /windows/start menu/ too.. (i never actually wanted to say anything incase i was wrong, but i noticed this a few weeks ago when using a script to delete .lnks.. )
