NO 3G or Internet after 2.2 froyo update

OK this is annoying the crap out of me, i had the evo for 1 month now so that makes my 30 day trial for sprint kind of useless,
my internet was working perfectly with no problem since the first day i got it,
did the update yesterday and had the problem with the flash browser and had to do a factory reset and everything work flawless and smooth after the reset.
after i did the reset and update the internet was working perfect on my usual places like work and home where i always get full bars and internet with no problem.
no when i went home last night and start playing around with my phone i KEEP GETTING INTERNET 3G SIGNAL DOWN, even in places i know theres perfect internet connection. its keep randomly giving me signing and right after i open my browser or application that uses internet the signal of the internet goes down and i dont even get a open it, i can make calls and message perfectly but no internet damn it.
CAN SOMEONE TELL ME WHATS GOING ON, EITHER THE UPDATE MESSED UP MY INTERNET 3G CONNECTION OR IS THAT SPRINT REALLY SUCKS AFTER 30 DAYS OF TRIAL?????????
My 3G was lame after a hard reset, but a few hours later it started picking up, and now I'm getting twice the speed I was getting before the Froyo update. I'm seeing as high as 1700kBitps on mobilespeedtest.com and dslreports.com/mspeed, 1400 on speedtest.net.Maybe the phone goes through some verification process and runs on a slower network masked by a 3G connection until it's verified, after the hard reset.
You could always do a reset with the MSL. You'll need you MSL code to make it work. I think the process is: dial ##786# and then when it loads, hit menu, reset. It will ask you for your MSL code. Enter it and the phone will reset. When it comes back on, it will reactivate on the service. This will do another factory reset by the way, but it resets more than just the data and system partitions.

[Q] Mobile Data Will Not Stay Connected, Any Ideas?

Last night I went into Service Mode on my SGH-T889 and as soon as Service Mode opened, my 4G icon disappeared and then kept cutting on and off. I didn't even change any of the settings in Service Mode, I just left it as it was and rebooted. Now, after multiple restarts, re-entering the APN settings, and a hard reset, I'm still having this problem.
Has anyone else had a similar issue? Were you able to correct it, and if so, how? I have been searching all day but can't find a fix. I can still make and receive calls and texts, just can't stay connected steadily to use my internet connection. I am not rooted and I am using a Simple Mobile SIM card, running Android 4.3.

you more than likely change something unknowingly...
i did that once back in the day, with 'auto-answer mode'... Lol
didn't know why calls wouldn't come through for the longest time, then with enough playing around in service-mode, i found the option and changed it back. Lol
I'm unsure as to if there is a way to change all those settings back to default...
maybe the samsung flash tool would have something for this...
Personally, i would peek around in service mode, and try to deduct from the available options as to what might have changed, based on how comfortable you are with the options though, that might not be a good idea... google is a helper.
all else fails, if you can't use any warranty services for the device, they checking in the phone-specific forum and seeing if someone with the same/similar device can post their settings relative to the mobile network.
good luck

Connectivity issue

Hello! I got my new OP2 last week. Straight out of the box had connectivity issue. Both wifi and data connection are fine at first glance, but the data keeps cutting off (both on wifi and LTE). When I wanted to log into google account I had to repeat the steps multiple times as it would give me an error "communication with servers unavailable" (or something simillar). Seems like the data flows through in short intervals. Browsing kinda works, since there is not much refreshing, youtube videos or downloading apps on the other hand are a complete nightmare (it took me a whole day just to update and DL some 20 apps). Anyways, I tried all possible "solutions" to similar problems I was able to find, such as clearing cache and changing from DHCP to static ip (on wifi).. Even went through trouble of (clean) flashing stock 2.0.1 and 2.1.1 oxygenOS ROM, changing Kernel,...the issue remains. :crying: So my question is: is there anything else I can try, or should I attempt to get the device replaced?

Samsung S8 Glitch? .. I've got one for ya....

So.. Story begins..
I bought my S8 a few months back.. Worked flawlessly (Stateside).. Then I came overseas and the problems began.. I requested my service to be suspended by Verizon and after doing so my phone began to freak out.. I don't know for sure if this is the cause but having just received my replacement device and experiencing the exact same issue. Could it be possible?
Issue: No matter what I am doing on the phone it will freeze for a split second then appears to refresh.. For example.. If I am typing an email, as I am writing my keyboard locks up and the phone becomes unusable then it jumps to the top of the app and then I can continue .. It is SOOOO frustrating because for example.. SnapChat: While I am writing and the screen freezes and refreshes, I lose everything I wrote.. If I'm scrolling through Facebook .. It jumps back to the top..This became more frequent and even more annoying! Even if I am in the settings menu scrolled all the way to the bottom.. it freezes for a second and then jumps to the top of the app.. So.. I began removing apps I thought could be the cause of the problem.. I cleared the cache on the phone as well as the apps, reset settings, removed/re-added Google accounts, even tried some developer options to scale down the graphics, background processes etc.. No avail.. I finally caved in and contacted Verizon who put me in touch with TechCoach app to remote in a see the issue for themselves.. All the troubleshooting steps they walked me through, I had already done.. So they sent me a replacement.. I set the new phone up, installed the software updates, just a few apps to test and sure enough same issue! Then I wiped the phone again.. didn't install any software updates, I left it bare bones and even set the phone up as new (no restore from Google)... So as I am writing this TechCoach wants to send me yet another replacement device.. But I'm certain the "Certified Like-New" S8 they send me will end up doing the same thing.. What it appears to be to me (No expert here) is that once I came overseas and suspended my line.. There's some service/app that is trying to push/pull over network data and since it's unable to do so it's causing the phone to glitch? I mean I really can't think of any other reason this could be happening .. Furthermore, I tried different Wi-Fi connections, changed performance modes, disabled many "enhanced features" ... Any ideas/suggestions greatly appreciated while I wait for the replacement device.... Thanks XDA!
Update:
Verizon had to reactivate my line before they could send a replacement... So I asked the rep to keep my line active to see if the issue persists.. Would you believe it worked flawless as it did when I first bought it without issues.. So my theory was right!!! Some service running in the background is attempting to refresh without connectivity.. I'm now going through every system app to disable and test ... more to follow!

No push notifications coming through - on mobile data only, when on Wifi it's fine.

I've had my V20 for 18 months or so and it's worked pretty well with only a couple of issues (I've no idea why I can't download web pages on Chrome or any Chromium based browsers) but nothing I couldn't live with.
I only noticed a couple of days ago that I'm no longer getting push notifications when on mobile data. Everything had been working just fine prior to that. When I'm out, if I don't open the app, I don't get any notifications. As soon as I log onto Wifi, I get all my Whatsapp messages through and notifications for any emails through Gmail - life is a LOT quieter at the moment with the pandemic so those are the 2 main sources of incoming messages)
I'm in the UK, haven't changed my sim provider or updated the phone (I'm stuck on Nougat as I can't do an official update due to not being in the states) and haven't been messing around with any optimization settings. The phone is stock. I have Greenify running but haven't altered anything in that for a long time either.
I went into battery optimization and Whataspp was showing as turned off - it's a LONG time since I went into the optimizations, so I don't know if that was always set to off? If I turn it on, things seem to go back to normal and the notifications come through on data and Wifi. Would that explain why they only come through on wifi? I'd have thought that if that was the culprit, it would've been the same no matter if I was on mobile data or wifi?
Any suggestions would be most welcome!
Just a thought but maybe Background Data is disabled for said apps not delivering push notifications on mobile connection. That would cause your problem. Of course, I don't know why it would suddenly work with battery optimisation turned on. Seems like that would disable background data usage.
