All the Custom ROMs or Stock ROMs I've tried for HD2 I've faced this problem.
I'm syncing my Email, Contacts & Calender with my GMail account.
i. From Sense UI Mail Tab, I go to Inbox > Menu > Tools > Search Server...
ii. Under 'Criteria for Finding E-mail with the below mentioned settings
-- Date Range > Any Date
-- Look in > All Folders
I search for a particular text which exists but every time it tells me 'Search could not be completed' - Tested with WiFi and GPRS.
Is Exchange not allowed to Search on server? Do I need to enable something from my GMail account?

For Domain I've left it blank and Server entered m.google.com, this was entered during the initial setup.
My Contacts, Calender and Email are being Sync + Push works perfectly fine. Only when I try to "Search Server" for a particular email, it says "Search could not be completed"

Hi there !
I have an Artemis running latest Meschle Artemis Touch rom (Thanks again for the amazing work Meschle !) and I just suscribed to an Internet/email option on my phone.
The problem is that this option is limited to 10mb for SMTP, POP et IMAP4 protocols and I reach this limit very quickly.
Does anyone know a way to collect my emails (from different email accounts) on my phone bypassing these limits ( I mean other than checking my mails from the phone browser ) ? Basically, I want to find a way to collect/send emails from different accounts not using the POP/SMTP/IMAP protocols from my phone.
I thought about mail2web but it seems that mail2web is using POP protocol to send mails to the phone...
Thanks for your help !
Hello,
You can use an Microsft Exchange server. It's use https protocol.
Have a look to 1and1.com solutions ;-)
merci pour l'info sebastien !
I think I found a solution setting up a mail2web account. Looks like active sync is not using a POP or IMAP protocol to synchronize mails between your mail2web mail box and your phone...Looks like it is just recognized as a web connection for my phone provider, cool !

Hello,
I have a problem to configure my mail on my HD2(Windows Mobile 6.5)
My operator is SFR but i got 2 mails oranges.
I want to receive one copy of all the mails on my phone.
But i can't find preferences to configure IMAP or POP on my portail orange
I'm on Win XP and i can't use the Manager for Windows Mobile devices because it's just on Vista or Seven.
And i don't know if a server exchange exist on orange.
Help me please if you receive your mail with the direct push option
Help me please
Where are the french's users ??????????
Hello, and welcome!
The first thing we need to know is what you want to do? Do you want to synchronize your mails between your HD2 and your computer? Or receive your emails on your HD2, even when you are away?
1. you want to synchronize your mails between your HD2 and your computer:
You need to install ActivSync 4.5 on your computer (you can download it on microsoft website), and to have Outlook installed on your computer aswell. After that, you can configure the synchronisation through ActivSync.
2. you want to receive your emails on your HD2:
You have to configure your email account on the HD2, go to the "Email" tab, select "Menu" and "Ajouter", "Autre" and fill all fields. For Orange' emails, you can configure both POP3 and IMAP account (pop.orange.fr or imap.orange.fr for incoming messages, and smtp.orange.fr for outgoing messages). If you don't manage to send emails with this parameters, try smtp.sfr.fr as outgoing messages server.
Hope this help you.
Laurent
Thanks you for your answer.
I want to know how we configure pop or imap on the portail orange
I will try with imap because i want to leave a copy on the serveur.
I never test imap configuration yet because i've try to configure with the "Email" tab,"Menu","Ajouter", "Orange" because the ROM version is an Orange and i'm with a SFR operator.
I think it's that the problem.
I try tomorrow and i will give you some news.
Ok, give a try and let me know, but 3 things:
1. You say you want to configure your account as an imap account in order to leave a copy on the server; but you can leave a copy even with a pop account (this option is selected by default in advanced settings, normally...). The advantage of imap is that all your folders are synchronized with the server, that means even emails sent from your HD2 will be on Orange portal, emails deleted on your HD2 will be deleted on the server, etc...
2. You have to configure manually all the settings of your account, because the configuration wizard allows you to configure only a pop account by default if you select the automatic configuration (a least for Orange)
3. The last thing is that you have to run the Connexions Wizard to configure your device with SFR parameters, because your ROM is an Orange one, so datas settings are for Orange.
Good luck !
I do a reset and i've try to configure the connexion (Démarer=>Paramètre=>Connexions=>Configuration de connexion.)
But the assistant failed.
I would to download the latest official ROM in the HTC website but i tell me a SerialNumer and when i enter mine i says it's not good
I think it's because the HD2 with ORANGE.
I can't reconfigure and i think i must do a hardSPL ? I'm correct??
Hi, i download the latest ROM, and i will do a HARD Spl before.
For who want i find a link for french ROM. i bought this phone with an orange ROM and my serial number doesn't work on the HTS support.
IT'S JUST FOR HD2 french !!

Thanks i receive my mail by the pop protocol
I don't resolve my problem lol
But i think it's impossible to configure mail on the portal orange like in gmail.
See you
Hey,
Yesterday hotmail launched activesync support and today I wanted to set it up as pop3 just sucks. But I can't get it to work. It always fails when creating a account saying there is some kind of error. I'm only trying to sync mail, not agenda and contacts. Now I searched a bit but it seems that some say android works, other say android doesn't work, and some say (he sucks moisture of ducks...) HTC devices only support activesync with either ssl turned off or if a godaddy certificate is used.
Does anybody know what the status on this is?
Hi,
as you can read (if your Dutch) here, android 2.1 isn't supported because of some issues...
Android Support: Het Hotmail team zal Android aan de lijst van ondersteunde toestellen toevoegen, in de komende maanden, wanneer het testen is afgerond.
§ Toegang vanaf Android 2.1 word NIET supported due to known client issues on Android 2.1.
§ Er zijn gebruikers de succesvol kunnen synchroniseren via de standaard applicatie of de Touchdown applicatie op Android 2.2.

So I'm on Azure 0.5 (android 2.2) used the correct settings and voila ! Fully synced...
Domain/User: [email protected]
server: m.hotmail.com
and accept all SSL certificates
Good luck syncing ...
Oke that sucks. So basically I have to wait for 2.2 on Legend or use touchdown?
If your not planning on rooting, yes that's your only option...

thanks man. i will try it
synced tasks are too simple... no recurrencey on the website for example...
I realized that the service became available about a month before I found it and posted it here. I suppose that Google helped push hotmail to finally give the service for free because of the m.gmail.com free exchange service.
I struggled for quite a while and almost gave in to switching to Gmail. Glad I could help by sharing the info.
