Updating Radio by .cab?

Is it possible to update the Radio using a .cab file? i can't connect my phone to a PC (i broke the USB board in the phone)

I have windows vista on my computer.. ive looked around.. does it make a diff. on how i flash a new rom?

i use xp and vista x64 and i have done it and it worked without a problem.

did you have to do anything extra or just follow the instructions as is?

as is (flashing with htc update tool and .nbh-file)

i updated to froyo now adb doesnt reconize my phone , doesnt even show up on device manager , any way to fix this ?

Have you tried mass storage mode? USB debugging enabled I assume?

Ditto. I had to take USB out of debug mode, reboot the phone, then put it in mass storage mode to reload the drivers. Then it was OK. I also had charging problem with the phone connected to PC USB that cleared up when the drivers were reloaded. Good luck.

+1 on that. hey tazz.
If I ever get my working computer back I may tinker with some ROMs. But i doubt i'll get it back anytime soon. Girlfriends family has claimed it as theirs now until they get a new one.

1. USB Mass Storage without Development Mode on.
2. MotoConnect will prompt; Install.
3. PC Mode with Development Mode on.
4. ADB activate again on leaked Froyo.

I went to this link and I don't think that anything of it is for Intel-based PC's. Any way to install it on our PCs? :S

You can install it to your PC but if you are not careful with harddisks, you can loose all your data there...
Best option is : Remove your HDD's and try it on a Flash disk or SD card...

Try reading that site a bit more maybe?
Clicking the link to get there doesnt count.

Try it on a virtual pc such as virtualbox, don't mess your hdd.

I couldn't get to run ICS versions on my x64 / x86 PC at home. But 2.3.3 and 3.x versions of android are working well with VMWare 8.x without any issue.

Where does the S II come in to all this?

Help with XP on HTC Shift!!!!!!!

i need your help!
I've got a htc shift with win xp.... i installed xp some months ago.
I have always updated windows but now the touchscreen and buttons (change res and manager) don't work!!
can i update drivers? can anyone give me them updated? or is there any way to upgrade os to win7?

Luckily I still had the drivers on my computer, I also have the ones for Mac OS X if you want those as well just let me know
