argh. need to make the choice today.
I need a quick sum of positive things about leo and bad things.
I love the resolution, screen, camera, skyfire, call recording(possible?) and skyfire.
But i love the games on my iphone.
try to convince me to get the leo, tell me why i should buy it

Guys,
The answers you seek are here....http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=611802
WB

if your only concern are the games, there is an ps1 emulator for the hd2.
if you are the business type, wm is the better choice.
if you care about speed, well... snapdragon > 3GS.
if you care about movies, 4.3" > 3.5".
if you care about the hardware quality, HD2 > all plastic 3GS.
if you care about connections like facebook & friends HD2 > 3GS, because the software is people concentrated unlike the iphone where you only have apps.
if you care about camera, 5MP > 3 MP.
if you care about a beautiful OS, Sense > iPhone OS.
if you care about freedom i kinda think jailbreak = HSPL (?)
if you care about apps 3GS > HD2.
if you care about stock alarm & sms app 3GS > HD2
.... only my thoughts ...

Maybe this will help: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=610084&highlight=experience

alright i made my choice. i will keep my iphone 3gs.
because:
n64 emulator that will get better over time.(windows mobile doesnt have one)
app store and all its games and apps.
HTC Sense cant be much improved. if it had custom tabs i would trade my iphone for the HD2.
The beauty and simplicity of the iPhone. Although i like tweaking and stuff.
Awaiting the next iPhone killer.

Well done, enjoy your iphone.

HTC the first real iPhone killer?

Do you think the HTC HD" will be the first iPhone killer?
Think its a different beast - but yes for me it does what I need to do better than the Iphone. Iphone is good for toys but not for business and multimedia
No, they're targeting different markets. Windows Mobile is for technology geeks only; the iPhone is aimed at normal people. I think some of the coming-soon high-end Android devices might be a better match for the iPhone - things like the Motorola Droid, Acer Liquid and (perhaps especially) the HTC Dragon.

this is very personal, at least to me, from the start, iPhone is just not for me, it is kinda gadget to me more than a proper phone and it has apps restriction for me but HTC with WM gives me everything I need. HTC Touch HD has already been iPhone killer to me. I know I'm giving comment too personally, but here are my preferences that why iPhone never been too good for me:
1: iPhone can't switch battery, very often it will run out of battery in the middle of something really busy
2. less display resolution and smaller even though the display look stunning
3. doesn't have Garmin and no support for the best map (Garmin format) in my country
4. I prefer expandable memory cards
5. front camera even though HD2 doesn't have one too, what a huge disappointment, but not a deal breaker to me
6. HTC has great support and great fun with many cooked roms to play here, what about iphone?
7. smaller screen with iphone which make me find it difficult with lot of errors when entering texts as multi touch require finger flesh instead of nails pin- pointing with resistive screen. Though multi touch feels real awesome and ultra responsive. Now the HD2 is with multitouch too and with bigger screen!
8. I prefer WM OS as it supports more apps and has lots more settings to play with
good point

I hope not. Would not like to have anything that resembled the iPhone.
Yes, when the Leo comes out the iPhone will be killed, and will die.

^^^ What he said.
As good as I think the HTC Leo is, it's not going to kill the iPhone (I've preordered a Leo btw).
Still a long way to go .... just ask the average joe ...and I think 7 out of 10 would have never heard of HTC, let alone HTC HD2 (well...it's like this in Australia at least).
why does the iphone need to die anyway? Completely different market and significant difference in usability.
iphone, lots of downloadable apps for just about anything, viewable screen in sunlight, locked into mother apple. No multitasking or customization (unless jail broke).....oh, and did I mention you get what apple says you get?
Leo (or any Winmo smartphone) Strong Windows base, tons of flexibility (esp thanks to xda), tons of apps, many free/donationware (esp thanks to xda), hugo-montenagro screen, (hopefully) viewable in sunlight, multitasking galore (esp with 320MB RAM)....and did I mention the excellent support here at xda?
iphone will not be going away soon..and who gives a crap?

For goodness sake! Not all this 'IPhone killer' nonsense again!
Every time a new phone comes out (HTC Touch, Touch HD, HD2, Hero, whatever!) some people think that the existence of the new phone will 'kill' the iPhone... ridiculous!
They will COMPETE with each other, not kill each other.
Some people may get an HD2 over an Iphone due to bigger high-res screen, or some other feature they appreciate, others will prefer the Iphone because they like stupid games or something.
The TP2 is serious competition for the Iphone, though the devices do appeal to differing markets, with significant overlap. The iPhone will probably still be a better toy, and the TP2 a better productivity device.
Leo will kill all iPhones. The iPhone as a phone will DIE. This is final.
Guys, what you mean by iphone killer?
- if you mean "much better performance&****" - then yes is an iPhone killer. Even HTC HD is an iPhone killer. You must be blind not to see that or fanatic (brainless). Of course other phones were HD Killer and so on.
- if you mean "after HD2 no one will buy an iPhone" - then is wrong. iPhone have a different target - people who what to be fancy and who were not able to have a personal point of view - they think only what the masses think.
In my country we saying "if fox does not reach the apple it says it is sour".
Stay for a second and think - your opinion must represent your desire or must represent manufactor desire? In first case you have brain, in second case you have brain only if you gain somthening from manufactor, otherwise your are stupid/fanatic.
Think about that!

Sorry, but someone's got to say something here and it might as wek be me. You're never going to be a proper fanboy for either side if you insist on using all that logic and common sense nonsense.
Ignore the facts, put on the blinkers, drink the kool-aid, and then you're going to fail as a clueless fanboy. Pick a side, spout as much biased tripe as you can, and join in the fun!

I don't fully agree with that because I know quite a lot of WinMo users that have moved to iPhone because of the "poor & complicated" interface.
Multitouch capacitive sceen, and TF3D last generation, power of the snapdragon, ability to read divx video without re-encoding might bring them back on track to WinMo.
It is true that there is at leat one PDA that match every user needs, but there are some that could match alomost all.
Leo surely is one of them,...
ffs, why does anyone even care????????
if you like the iphone..buy it!!
if you like a WM phone..buy one!!
why spend hours debating which one will 'kill' the other one. seriously, who gives a crap!!
some people will ALWAYS say that the iphone is the best...some people will ALWAYS say that WM rocks....those people are basing their decisions on what they want from the phone....it's an emotive issue, and a complete waste of time and effort.
Finally
After all that have been said in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=580981
I think we have an answer don't you think?
I say hell no, but it is pretty close. If you want to go WM for some reason, then any WM device is iPhone killer. But this WM device is first which has similar wow-effect as iPhone, when you take it in your hands.

Convince me HD2 is a damn good phone!

Hi all, New guy here. So I'd been waiting a good couple of months for the HD2 and thought it would be an awesome 'consumer' phone.
I got it Monday 11th January and i'm not blown away by this phone. Dissapointed in fact.
But why though. I see alot of enthusiasts for the HD2 on here but I'm just not getting it. Basically Its alot phone and alot of money, with pretty much, not much substance or not much cool stuff on it.
What is getting you guys excited about it?
So this threads asks you to put my faith back in the phone.
The problems I have are this: -
The HTC UI/Skin I don't like much. Is there an alternative out there that isn't Windows Mobile 6.5 Default Skin?
Can you add more Widgets to the HTC UI Slider??
The only cool app is the pre-loaded game 'Teeter', Other than that there isn't much.
I can't use the Exchange Feature as I don't have an Exchange outlook mailbox to connect to, so that feature is wasted
Does anyone know if Windows Live will fully sync with WinMo 6.5. I refer to the calendar on Windows Live?
Do I keep this phone, and wait for WinMo 7 in the hope '7' is going to be something special and amazing to look forward to that would be on par with Iphone/Android?
========
Now If I was using this as a Business Phone, it would undoubtedly be brilliant, cos its WinMo! But it's not, its for personel use.
Should I just send it back and just wait for the Nexus One?
Thanks
or you can do your homework BEFORE you make a purchase...
hd2 like previous HTC phones is all about the potential for you to customize to exactly what you want. you can literally do anything you want with your phone as long as you search enough. i don't think that's the same with the iphone etc. there's a lot of apps out there you just have to find them.
thing is most non-techie people won't be able to or won't bother do this hence why i never recommend it to some people

For me personally? The screen. The design. The functionality. The blistering speed. The screen. The ability to stand out from the crowd and lord it over iPhone sheeple. The Sense UI. The prospect of XDA chefs releasing cooked roms and increasing the phone's functionality and performance. Did I mention the goddamn beautiful screen?
I bought the HD2 to do the following:
(a) watch movies & tv (DID I MENTION THE 4.3" SCREEN?)
(b) play music
(c) browse the internet
(d) play games
(e) use it as a personal organiser/wordprocessor
And I can say with absolute certainty that this phone has met and exceeded my expectations in all respects. I. Love. This. Device. Maybe you don't. That's fine. But if none of the above has enlightened you then take it back and get something else.
Thank you, come again.

I got two phones. One is my company phone which is a Samsung WinMo, does the job beautifully.
Personal phone was a Samsung Tocco. I'm not a fan of Symbian one bit!
Im using my HD 2 as a data collector, so the phone options are secondary though reception in fringe areas is exellent
Ive used WM devices for data collection for over 6 years now: hx4700, trimble nomad. and the HD 2 is the best yet
Using Oziexplorer for gps navigation and VectorLink for data collection, The HD 2 is faster and more responsive then the Nomad.
The built in gps is no slouch either almost as good as our globalsat BT-338,s.
Just waiting for the extended battery to complete the unit.
well... from the looks of it iphone 3gs should suit op bit better. more entertaining out of the box, lots of eyecandy and sweet simplicity.
see... hd2 is like a pc when iphones are more of a gaming consoles. they do have a sort of raw power, but no multitasking and access to the system. hd2 out of the box is more or less empty device and if You don't have a clue what to do with it at this point, then more likely You should sell it.
my hd2 works as a gps satnav, ebook reader, audio and video player when bored away from home, web browser, email client, im communicator, organiser, gaming console (psx emulator when lonely and don't feel like reading), phone (!) and lots of others. basically - same as all my previous winmo devices, but faster, on bigger screen and with multitouch. how cool is that??
The phone is pretty much like a PC you need to set it up the way you like it and install the apps on that you like. Everyone's HD2 is going to be different, for me a great fun app I found here today is Aurora, I can't stop messing about with it!

Hi,
I've just come from a zPhone 3G. I'm so glad I didn't get the 3GS!
I've only scracthed the surface I'm sure but the HD2 is so much more than the zPhone.
I've got it setup just the way I want it, it'll do things the Apple won't
I was asking the same question as you last week...
Cheers,
Gavin

Lets face it: HD2 (and XDA!) is f*in amazing!

I've noticed a couple times scrolling through the forums that an outsider interested in buying the phone might be turned away if they read through here. Of course, odds are they wouldn't come to XDA in the first place, but still the complaints - though in the minority - are most obvious.
Tired of all the hater threads? Love your HD2 as much as I do? Enjoy the looks of envy from 3GS users? This is our thread
Besides, the best unexpected side benefit of the HD2: plentiful opportunities for "that's what she said."
Wow... the counter part entitled "Lets face it: HD2 (and XDA!) is f*in amazing!". Things are getting interesting.
The best thing I love about HD2 is screen, CPU, WiFi router and Remote Desktop Mobile (my personal favourite). Perhaps a couple of other "diamonds sparkling behind the rock". You need to dig to get the diamonds....lol...
I received envy, but not necessarily quite the type I thought...!
I was at the shops waiting for my GF, playing with my HD2. A little boy probably around 10yo was with his mum sitting next to me spotted me playing games.
Boy: "Look there mum!! See!! EVERYONE has an iPhone!!"
Surprisingly, I was actually slightly offended that someone would mistake the HD2 as an Apple product...but he was only a kid so I kept quiet and just continued playing...hehe.
Love it all, screen crisp and clear, fast fast fast processor and navigates really easily and well, surprising ease of use input methods, that fact that while its big it doesnt feel too big when using it as a phone, how clear and loud the speakers are, plays movies really well and so much better than I expected, really easy to use and individualise... so much more that I'm afraid if I keep typing it will look like I am gushing...
I sold My iPhone 3gs to buy this.................. best thing I have done

im lovin my hd2 tbh. my last phone was an omnia and over at modaco there is a great rom scene, i havent even tried a custom rom on the hd2 yet, so i havent scratched the surface on what this amazin piece of kit can offer! the best thing about wm is defo the customization.
the screen on this device is something else, web browsing is amazing (im writin this on hd2 now).

Finally a thread that makes sense
I love the screen, the wifi speed, the speed in the menus, the video playback (streaming with coreplayer of course), the pinch to zoom, the hardware, sense 2.5, the screen resolution and again that screen... so beautiful
moved from xperia x1, the processor is twice fast and so the screen!
still at stock Rom until my spare battery arrive best phone in winmo era!
buy another iptouch if you want to play fancy game, affordable compared to awesome HD2
At work yesterday I showed a mate who has an iPhone, side by side the HD2 just looks SOOOO much nicer
Htc hd2 ftw
I hope i'll be able to write a line or two in this thread next week
I love the HD2, the wonderful screen estate, the speed and all the wonderful mods. XDA-developers is the one reason I stayed with HTC phones and not gone for others. All the help and wonderful tweaks and modifications just make the phone unique to us and we feel so free to do as we like without being restricted.
Best time was when a iPhone 3gs owner got envious of my HD2 XD
And as many o got offended when some ppl have misstaken it for a iPhone >.<
HD2 looks way better than a iPhone, faster too ^^.
Just a quick one from a very loyal windows phone user who went to iPhone 3GS and then played with a HD2...
There are MANY reasons to go back to windows/HTC and given that I have been using the 3GS for around 6 months now, it's quite a big thing to say.
There are also many reasons to stay with the iPhone.
To be honest, the functionality and hardware...the HD2 wins hands down and not a single person can say otherwise.
Software-wise - I have to admit, the same BUT, when I went back to the iPhone, I couldnt help noticing the simplicity of it all which sometimes made it a bit better to use.
There were also a few niggles that the iPhone seemed to not have
Other: The appstore.
This is where the iPhone won over the market place.
The apps are cheap, there are plenty of them around and some of the very few games that I always have to have on a phone (need for speed/asphalt) were a lot better on the iPhone.
Why am I going back to the iPhone?
Only one reason after all that testing... logmein!
I heavily use logmein for home/work and this is something that is too flakey on the HD2.
iPhone has an app, its all done via the app. Related to this, the web side of things work very well on the iphone where zooming in still fits the page to the screen.
Niggles:
Main one is that the Audi and the HD2 don't like each other in that the contacts are only syncing up to the letter N
Second was emails i found easier on the iphone (don't shout!)
I love the idea of how it displays on the HD2 but hate the idea that to delete, I have to go into another screen or whatever. This is going back to Simplicity that you have 4 icons, one to reply, one to delete, and whatever the others do ON the email in question. Same goes for multiselect...going to a menu, select, select several is 3 screens to many and the iPhone slide>delete individually is still "simpler"
having said all of this, if I had never touched the iPhone, I would not have realised any of the above and gone for the HD2
But the way I work is to take the HD2, not use the 3GS, and see if I need to use the 3GS for anything...if not, the HD2 is a winner.
And in this case, it did win had it not been for the bluetooth and logmein.
End of the day, it's all personal preference and I know for a fact I'll go back to HTC/WinMo once I get what I want on it
Right now, I just dont know what to do and still have both devices in my pocket

Why we love our HD2? Guys, share with me

These days, I've seen way too many threads like "Goodbye HD2, hello Iphone", "Htc Hd2 bye bye" or "Wtf with this phone". I cant stand it. So I want to have a praise thread for our HD2, our beloved and best one, also want to share my opinions on the HD2 and Winmo generally for everyone to see and think.
Here are some type of opinions quite popular these days:
"Windows mobile 6.5 is a dead os for lack of a better term and also know that the development for apps for it is going to taper and die off at some point"
"HD2 is too buggy, laggy, errors"
"Winmo is a waste for HD2"
"Where are the games and apps?"
"Not work out of the box?"
To answer, first of all, I dont care about apps that Iphone or Android has.
I dont play games much now so that's a second point. Although they do have some very interesting like Tunewiki or Layar, that's the only thing I miss from my old 3GS and Hero. And if u paid so many money for games on iphone, why dont paid a 5 Euro more for Fpsece, to have the best experience about PS1 games on a mobile device so far.
Secondly, about basic apps, Winmo wins.
For videos: I dont have to spend hours to find a good convert program and hours to config and wait for the converted file to transfer to my phone, Coreplayer and TCPMP serve them right.
For ebooks: the most popular format is prc, Mobipocket reader wins again, I dont have to convert either.
For office: what can win over office mobile, please show me, I have no idea about this.
And u know what, Winmo has these basic things and apps for free!!!
Third, the true multitask:
Winmo has been a winner since the start. I agree that Iphone can be jailbreak then install e.g Proswitcher, but that's not so convenient like Winmo. The basic thing about Android is it never really closes an app, keeping it running in the background for quick response, but that only makes Android become slower and laggy just like Winmo. But for convenient, and with a power specs like HD2, it's so great in terms of multitask for me.
Fourth, the screen:
HD2 has a great and super beautiful 4.3 inch screen. I can never go back to a 3.2 (Hero) or 3.5(Iphone) now, I will consider for a 3.7 one. Watching photos, videos, viewing documents, surfing. It's superb with HD2. And please dont expect a device with great screen like that to have a good battery life. More than a day with normal usage is so enough. I got 1.5 days or even more than 2 days with my HD2.
Fifth, and the best one imo, CUSTOMIZATIONS
Winmo is the best world for customizations, for devs and chefs. It got history, and it's truly popular, right? I love to tweak my phone, customize it the way I one, change every weeks or even every days, so I cannot get bored with it. And look at this forum, so many manila mods have been built and definitely going on and on. From maxmanilla, cookie home tabs, GTX, all are wonderful and amazing. I cant thank them and all the chefs here enough.
Now, look at Iphone, what can u do with this easy to get bored home screen, except for changing icons?
And even android, it's not easy to customize it without rooting. And things to customize so far? Not much, I see.
For all that has errors, bugs, laggy, I think it's just u to make the phone like that, not the phone itself (if it's not a defective one). Too many report shows the phone works out of the box, count me in for that. I went with stock rom for a month at first with nothing went wrong.
Winmo to me is never a dead OS like it seems now. It's still growing strong in the world thanks to xda, yes, xda is the one that makes it strong, imo. We love to tweak, we love to customize, we love to share our knowledge and stuffs, so we are here. If u just dont feel like to tweak, u better not be here, xda is not some place where u can just complain and complain everyday for ur own faults.
Finally, HD2 is not a waste to me to run Winmo, it's best with Winmo.
Whew, my longest post so far. Guys, dont leave me alone, come and praise our HD2, I know u will.
List the best things u ever had with HD2 and show the world
P.S: it's just my opinion, but we all have private and personal purposes for using mobile in our life, so that we have personal choices on mobile, so please dont flame on me so hard, haha
1. big screen - can see web pages better than my x1a 3" screen
2. software options (still compatible with the software i use on my old phone) tomtom 7 - no need to have a data connection to use gps, slick im - use this when im on the move, option of using several different types of web browsers (ie, opera, opera mini, skyfire)
3. phone is unlocked and can use it as a prepaid phone.
Exactly mate, should have mentioned the chasing game between apple and devs, it's really annoying sometimes. And the price for an unlock iphone is really ridiculous.
You know, I have both the Nexus one and HD2, but I am really thinking of selling my HD2. I love all the things you have mentioned, but texting is kind of a big deal to me. With an HD2, the keyboard so choppy, no matter the rom I try. If I can somehow fix it, bye bye nexus. If not, well...
Just thinking would there be a phone that has a screen larger than 4.3" in the future or this is the biggest already? By the way 4.3" wide is a common size for GPS device.

The athena had a 5inch screen.... but you couldn't use it as a regular handset. You needed to use either bluetooth headsets or speakerphone. It was a cool phone, though.
You guys covered it
I agree with everything you guys said, except texting prob, I use swype, love it!! By far best phone I've ever had!! Just added, msvc, love it, just made perfect, better!!
My main reason for choosing HD2 over iphone or android devices is privacy!
I don't have to have apple and google knowing everything about me!

exactly my thoughts.
I love it because the great hardware I saw this as a newstep after the qualcomm 528 mhz. Wich was used for 3 or more years. This was a newstep for 2 years this will be a fast phone. And the freedom of windows mobile is also great.
Simply the best phone I ever had! Does everything I need and more!
I love my HD2 because it's big, it's strong, it's fast and give me the possibility to customize everything like I want.
I love my HD2 even because makes me different from all the mass of sheeps that walk around with an Iphone and use their phono to simulate a beer drinking and s**t like this.
Having an HD2, like my good old HTC Topaz, makes me feel different and like a pro.
I have always been a win mobile user. love the ability to anything! can send files bluetooth, COMPLETELY change the theme of the phone, and modify the software ANY way you see fit. suck on that iphone.
The only thing I would change would be camera hardware button
They say the HD2 will be the last in windows mobile 6.5. what a way to go out with a bang!!!
windows mobile+huge screen+fast processor= one sick device
I could probably be classified as a (very) dull business user and I have never before cared over what device was put into my hands..
I have used SE, Nokia, HTC, you name it, and even a iPhone for a while, and all worked okay and I did type an occasional e-mail on them but in reality they all fell short, some with clunky e-mail integration other with unsuitable screens for reading long texts.
With the HD2 I have hit "home", I have become truly freed from my office - I can access and work with my e-mails, read trough and review extensive attachment, surf the web, get online with my laptop without hassle trough the WiFi router. First phone I ever used that work seamless with bluetooth both in the car and with headsets.
It's a serious device and not a toy with downloaded flashlight applications.

Ah well, I agree that this is a let down thing at first, but after few months usage, I'm quite amazed at my typing speed right now

These are the things that I never bother or want to do with my old 3GS and Hero
Hi,
I like:
1) Screen (come on 4.3 inch MAMA MYA that’s nice step for mobile phones. I will never buy IPhone 4G if it’s less than 4.3 inch screen)
2) Design (Very slim very sexy)
3) Speed (yeah it’s really speedy)
4) Freedom (WOW the best thing. No more F jailbreak)
I don't like:
1) SMS messaging interface (Please anyone know other messaging interfaces? or at least to tell me how to disable the loading of messages as once. I rather like IPhone messaging where it loads small amount of sms in the chat area and load more history sms on request if needed)
2) Battery life (To bad to be in such great device)

I always have over 400 sms in my inbox, and it loads quite quickly, I think. No problem for me. Why dont u try the old style thread messaging from Energy rom or some other roms?
Thank you for starting this post. I was reluctant to upgrade from my Touch Pro to the HD2 for the lack of a hardware keyboard, which I used constantly. The big, beautiful screen won me over and I'm happy to report that I'm typing as fast as ever now that I'm used to my HD2.
I love the huge screen, HTC Sense (Thanks to Cookie and averyone else, not enough room in this thread), one touch dialing, programs etc, etc.
Every, and I mean EVERY challenge that I had with my phone when I first bought it has been solved by using these forums.
Every, and I mean EVERY modification that I could have dreamed of has been supplied by using these forums.
This has been the case since I started using WinMo and with every device I've owned.
These sour grapes posts by individuals who refuse to take the time to use this fine provision in order to make full use of their HD2 are a slap in the face to the hardworking developers who have brought countless hours of joy to the rest of us who deeply appreciate their work.
To the developers and contributors of this forum: I salute you.
To the individuals who are posting their "Bye, Bye" threads. Please leave quietly, and don't let the door hit you in the iphone.
Oh finally some positive thread for HD2.
So what i love about my HD2.
Speed - lighting fast
Customization - Thanks Winmo 6.5
Usefull Programs - Programs that really matters. Like Resco explorer and image viewer, FPSEce,iGO with multitouch and compass
BIG screen - The Biggest!
Open platform (flashing ROMs) - Can be really fun
Loud speakers - Well maybe too much =)
Capacitive screen with multitouch - Say yes to best gaming experience
How the phone feels in pocket (comfortable) - You dont even know it's in your pocket
But there are few bad things =(
Development - The newest games looks like ripped of java with touch support
Really old core of OS - Winmo 6.5 is quite ugly too
Reset button under Battery cover - lol at this one

From a Touch HD to Iphone 3gs...HD2 ?

I once had a touch HD and loved it, I sold it for an Iphone 3gs.
I have got an opportunity to get an HD2 but need to know a few things.
How do these thing compare to the HD
How much faster on Sense UI is the HD2 over the HD ?
What is the camera/video like compared to the Touch HD ?
What 3D games are on the HD2 ?
what is the future of the HD2 with WM7 coming ?

..because it's evil?
Anyway, there's nothing, hardware wise, were the hd2 doesn't surpass the 3gs. Maybe excluding the internal memory.
Same goes design-wise, but that's more of a subjective opinion.
So, unless you cannot part from the feeling of being cuddled that should come with using an iphone all day long, then the switch is definitely a gain
Search the forum and you'll know EVERYTHING you wanna know just don't waste our time and bytes with pointless discussions.
You like it? Change it, you don't like it or you're switching back to iPhone? Well read my sign.
have edited my question, more suited to comparing HD to HD2
Well I'll try to be as much clear as I can.
You know the difference between the original Xbox and Xbox360? And between Playstation 2 and Playstation 3?
Well, the same difference is between HD and HD2: a whole new world. Faster, smoother and with a bright future for my taste.
Actually the HD2 is the most powerfull smartphone on the market and, as you can read, Android is going to be completely ported to that platform. Moreover in the future probably even WP7 will be ported extending life of this incredible machine.
So it's your choice: you had fun with your HD and you want to come back fighting and testing new ROMs? Well... dump the iPhone and go for the HD2.
Instead you like easy life, everything close to your fingers and the limitation of a closed operating system? Stay with your iPhone.
For my taste, I love to fight and test, so I love my HD2.
I hope to have been clear enough

Sense is much faster on the HD2 than the HD, though keep in mind it will not match the UI consistency of the iPhone, regardless of how much you fiddle with ROMs. Sometime's it'll be blazingly fast, sometimes it might hang for a bit.
3D games- you can check out stuff online, but there's not much of note, as large devs have all abandoned Windows Mobile. I have Need for Speed Undercover (works, but the WM version has much poorer graphics than the iPhone one), Xtrakt (slightly better graphics, but I don't think it's very fun), Ferrari GT Evolution (arcade-style graphics), and Doom II (which I suppose is 3D). The HD2 has a powerful graphics chip (just a bit slower than the 3GS'), but there's almost no software on WM that makes use of it. The only platform with decent 3D apps these days is the iPhone.
As for WP7, the HD2 is physically capable of running it, so I fully expect it to be ported over at some point here on XDA (never officially, though, because it doesn't have the requisite hardware buttons).
Basically, if you want a phone to be a phone straight out of the box, to do what it is supposed to do and to do it well then stick with an iPhone. If you want to have to mess about to get your phone to work properly, and even then have to put up with the inherent instability issues, then get an HD2

Haha yeah, that's basically it.
I would add, though, that the HD2's 4.3" screen is absolutely glorious. Unfortunately WM manages to put all that hardware to waste .

I think if you have an Iphone stick with iphone OS its more easy to use and good app support. Who ever has come from the Iphone 3gs to the hd2 and your happy your a really a geek!. I like iphone but its too plain i would get bored by the second month of having it.
