wifi to ps3

does anyone know of a program i can use to get the
wifi from my att fuze to connect to my ps3 so i can
get online.

Doesn't work with my mates ps3. Dont think the ps3 will work with adhoc networks which is what wifi internet sharing creates. The wifi works on a normal router and finds other networks just refuses to see my diamond. Laptop has no problems finding it. Dont know if wmwifirouter creates an access point or an adhoc network http://www.wmwifirouter.com/

there is also a program called htc wifi router, that one creates an access point, as i read, never tested it, got no data plan, i just use my mobile as client in my wi-fi

I'll test it tonight, but I don't think it will work either. simple fix? get a $20/30 wifi router and use wmwifirouter to connect to IT, then connect the ps3 to the router. done.

I have a similar question.
Now i have a connection between X360 and my laptop via ethernet. All works fine but i wouldn't start my laptop every time i want to connect to xbox live.
Is there any way to connect my X360 to wifi via my Samsung Omnia?
I tried WMWiFiRouter, but when i connect the USB to the Xbox the program says, Waiting for a (USB) connection
So, it's possible to connect the Omnia to my Home's wifi and the X360 to the Omnia connected in internet (via USB)?

You're a liar. It doesn't work without another hardware solution.

If your Xbox has wifi, then it should work OK with a rooted Epic with Wireless Tether. USB tethering seems pretty iffy.
Be warned though, the latency on 3G or 4G is longer than would be ideal.

Does xbox see AD-Hoc N networks? cause if it doesn't it won't work...till we get Froyo and can use infer-structure..or hack MobileAP

[Q] Connecting a ps3 to the internet through HTC Hero

I'm trying to connect my ps3 to the internet using my phones internet. I have a rooted Hero using wireless tether to my pc. I enabled internet sharing on that connection and hooked up an ethernet cat-6 from my ps3 to pc. My ps3 keeps timing out trying to optain an IP address. Does anyone know if it's possible to get the ps3 to share a mobile internet connection?
Edit: Manually entered IP address and it now successfully obtains, but I get a DNS Error. I've tried a few open source numbers, none of which seem to work.

Why don't you just Wi-Fi tether? Program like wifi barnicale tether
It works from my N1 to ps3 slim

I tried that first. My ps3 wouldn't pick up the network when it would scan. I read that ps3's can't pick up ad-hoc networks. Maybe the new slims have that added feature though?

Make sure you are using one of the latest versions of wifi tether (.09 or .10). I think they now are a true router rather than a ad hoc connection

Hi, I've been searching and searching for a answer to this question for a while now. I apologize in advance if theirs a post on the forum somewhere that answers it. I wasn't able to find any however. My question is: Is it possible to connect my android phone (Samsung Captivate) to my xbox 360 and turn it into a wireless router so it can connect to my PC's router. I don't want to spend money on the wireless router that Microsoft offers for the xbox. And I'm talking about using WiFi, not data connection.

i wasnt aware that Microsoft offers a router with an xbox. But yes, you can turn your phone into a wireless hotspot and have your xbox connect to that.

Do not expect any huge connection speeds.

I think he means he doesn't have the dongle so his xbox can connect to his wireless network. Don't know if the phone can receive the wifi signal and tether it out that way. You can try the usb tether.

Yeah its about 60 dollars now (the network adapter Microsoft offers). The thing is the xbox doesnt even recognize my phone as a storage device. I was wondering if anyone has actually tried doing this before. I was going to try the usb tethering but I was reading up on it and most of the people that were using it were using data connection and not wifi so I was unsure.

for usb tethering you would need a xbox client....and i doubt that has been done before.
The only way your gonna get your xbox to connect to any wireless signal is with a wireless adapter.

You need that adapter, no way around it.

Check this out. Connected my PS3 indirectly to Adhoc using my Vibrant.

If you don't know how to make an ad hoc network, just search "how to" on whatever OS you're running. But anyways I had the idea to get my phone, ps3,and laptop on my high speed internet connection without a router. First thought was a reverse USB tether and then broadcast it to ps3....but it seems impossible on my cm7 gingerbread vibrant.(btw, no one bothered answering my post for help). So technically you don't even need to create an ad hoc network. I allowed sharing from my wired local network connection to my wireless connection on the laptop. Then enabled the wifi hotspot ability on my phone, did custom connection and picked up "AndroidAP" on my ps3 wireless connection, made sure that it aquired an IP but didn't care about internet just yet. I then connected the laptop to the "AndroidAP" access point under available wireless networks. Waited a minute and I see my computer as a media server on my ps3. Open the browser on the ps3 and voila! Online connection tested at 6.4 mbps download and a 2.8 Mbps upload. The phone acted as a wireless bridge but isn't drawing any data from it because the hotspot ability is for sharing....so now I need to figure out how to tap into the love on the phone.
If you haven't figured it out, you can get everything online in your house without buying a wireless router. This is a homemade access point that's super easy!
