i have heard on youtube reviews it is not possible...thats why i am wondering.
the iphone browsing experience is great, and is full screen.
On the Leo it is not full screen, even when you zoom out.
what about ticking auto full screen in the settings menu?

I'm a little confused by this. Do you mean Opera 10? I only ask because the default Opera (9.7) that comes installed on the device is always in full screen, except when you use the menus.
same for opera 10.. always in fullscreen except when using the menus
maby i said it wrong...with fullscreen i ment viewing the whole page. only able to scroll down, not sideways.
Opera always goes to fullscreen mode automatically.
And actually it goes to REAL fullscreen, not like on the iPhone where you still have that bar on the bottom taking away screen real estate (that's already very limited on the iPhone anyway, with that low resolution and smaller screen).
Don't know where you found that information that Opera would not do this, but it's wrong.
You can turn that off in the settings, however.
EDIT:

Ah yes, now I understand what you mean. Yes, you can do that also, by setting the "virtual screen width" higher.
if it still wont work, type about:config in your browser
and then go to user prefs and see if there are some options permanently activatet wich do not allow the browser to go into fullscreen!
This is what you're searching for:
- type about:config
- click on 'adaptive zoom settings'
- set 'virtual screen width' to 1000 (or something great enough for all the pages you visit)
- click 'save' and restart Opera
Thanks for the question, I'll include this in my next ROM
I like not having to scroll sideways, but was too lazy to change it
yeah thats it! i was to lazy to get my phone to look it up^^

Just discovered nice little touch on PIE (you may all know it already). When in full screen mode the "Volume Slider" works as an up/down scroll bar (sadly only jumps from link to link).
I only discovered this cos I am trying to find a way to get true scrolling in PIE, instead of it TABBING from link to link. In most instances this is fine, but a real pain if there are hundreds of links at the top of a web page. Any advice?
Sorted - Real Page Down Scrolling
Sorted it, found on another forum. Change PIE Scrolling from TABBING to normal PAGE DOWN/PAGE UP.
Edit registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Navigation\4-Way Nav
Change Value from 1 to 0.
Also works when in FULL SCREEN with the VOLUME SLIDER.
Sweet hack.
That's one for the Wiki IMO
nice one dude! Implemented it straight away.
This hack was included in Tweaks2k2 a long time ago (option Internet Tricks/PIE Smooth Scrolling).
Wish there was a way of scrolling smoothly, line by line, and not by a full screen at a time... :?:

Hmm. I know it's a matter of personal preference but I quite like the link-to-link scrolling. It seems smart enough (i.e. if there are links on a page then it scrolls through them, but if the page has no links then it goes page-by-page). It means I can view a webpage and navigate the web without taking out the stylus to tap the screen. I just wish I could read long news articles line-by-line (or even halfscreen-by-halfscreen) rather than jumping entire pages with only 10 pixels overlap.

I have the Blackstone and cannot figure out what black square you're referring to on the browser. Care to be more specific?

He is talking about the Opera Browser you can see in all the HD videos. When the phone is switched to landscape mode it is displaying a strange black square at the bottom. i dissapears when you scroll on a page but when you stop its suddenly there again.
That's it Raziel1. I see it in the videos on Youtube. When you scroll it vanishes but when you stop it comes back again. I am so puzzled as to what it is for.
its the new zoom feature isn't it? when u hit it it brings up a zoom scroll bar so you can zoom as much or as little as you want instead of just double tapping the screen.
to the OP, are you sure it's at the TOP? there shouldn't be anything at the top. there should be TWO black squares at the bottom corners (one on each side), regardless of orientation. the left one is zoom, the right one is new page (or shrink current page to a tile).
Ok go here to see a video of it:
http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=TykCSs44TAs
Move the progress bar below the video to 4minutes and 6 seconds and watch fro there onwards. Clearly seen in landscape browsing. What is it and can it be disabled in options?

looking at the newest youtube videos, it seems that this square was just part of the prerelease version. more a bug than anything else maybe.
anyone seen this icon when browsing xda dev in opera? seen for first time ten minutes ago after 4 weeks use. looks like it maybe could be full screen or something but doesn't do anything., not there permanently, comes and goes as I zoom and scroll.

Yep, i've seen it too and don't know what it is. What I do know is that the icon is named icon_iframe in the opera skin file. Maybe that does ring a bell with you? Here, it stays very silent
Strange, but glad i'm not just seeing things! hehe. Not seen it since i posted about it, lets hope ignorance is bliss...

A joke would be to make a skin for opera and replace this icon by for example: (since it does nothing and means nothing and only randomly pops up only once a week ....)
Hah, or 'click here'
Do you use full screen mode? I do and that is the icon that is there except when I am scrolling. Clicking it brings up the "non-fullscreen" style menu. Not sure why you would see it there otherwise.

Yea i have 'auto full screen' selected in options, and clicking the icon does nothing.
I have that problem as well. I don't know what is is. Never botherd me.
Well guys if it's name is Icon_iFrame then it should bring up some menu for iframe element in html. Or maybe loading the page in iframe as a new tab. But I really dont know, just guessing =)
I heave a really big problem with this bull***t. It drives me crazy!
With the ne HTC Sense you have "Reflow Text" in every broswer.
So if you zoom (doesn't matter if double tab or pinch) the browser switch to another part of the page. It is just impossible to zoom to a place you want. Sometimes it just kicks it to the left end of the page!
And I can't turn it off! So why HTC?? Why I can't turn it off?
I hope there is or there will be a solution for this
OP is talking about this issue:

Apparently, there is a fix for the Desire, but I'm not certain if it applies for Desire HD. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=786290
Android Version: 2.2
Build Number: 1.32.405.3
Browser Version: 3.1
Not sure if it could work? Do I lose warranty with this?

I love the way the browser reflows the text. Best reflow of all the browsers I used on both the windows mobile (wp7, wm6.x) and the android platform.
But maybe it comes with some costs... Fortunately, I don't need a exact zoom like you do.

Not at all. Just try.
Better idea: "about:debug" -> Menu -> Settings -> GEP Zoom an ->
Doubletab: relfow
Pinch-zoom: no reflow
Thank god!

Write about:debug your address bar and press enter key. After that you'r going to debug mode of browser then tap menu>settings> and go down there is Enable GEP Zoom. Enable that.
I cant agree more, the htc browser zooming is ****, can't really see why anyone would like it better than original ASOP zooming. There are no real benefits to this text reflow thingey when you pinch zoom.
about:debug works great though
I am trying to remove the 'exit' prompt when hitting the back key. The FAQ at their website says go to Menu/More/Settings to turn off the prompt. Problem is that I can't find Menu/More/Settings. Where is it?
Hit the system menu button at the bottom left of the screen. Go into settings (you might not have to hit "More"), change settings.
Entropy,
Thanks for your reply. I'm sorry for being so slow but I do not see any menu button at the bottom left of the screen. When I bring up the Dolphin browser I have a left arrow for back, a up arrow that brings up the tablet home page, a layered rectangle that brings up a graphical column that has My Apps, Team Stream, Gmail, Google Search, and Settings.
If I hit Settings I do not get a "More". The last icon at the lower left, a rectangle grid brings up the a bottom six options; refresh, bookmarks, toolbar, forward, exit, and uh-oh "more". Oops! There it is. Found exit settings and fixed the problem. Thank you very much.
lmao!
Glad you got it! Totally got a chuckle out of that stream of consciousness style there lol
Where is the Thanks button?

Hey Gmfeny, did you get you random wifi disconnects sorted... I read that you used the wifi analyzer (where did you find that..?) and then at your womans pad, it started working. What is the latest. Later on.
