i'm recieving sms fine and sending fine, but my phone seems to list the reply sms before the sms i recieve.. unsure if im staying it right.. and unsure if anyone will understand me, is it something to do with my phones clock? i havent touched it an unsure how i sync it?
i.e you get an sms, you reply and it appears above the reply you just got?
yeh happens to me on my unlocked O2 HD2.
I dont have my clock set to sync with internet time, which may be the problem. not sure, it doesnt bother me as much.
(settings - data services - internet time sync)
you'd also notice that although the date is set to D/M/Y in messages they appear as M/D/Y.
thanks mate an mine is set
glad you understand what i was trying to explain im on o2 also might be network time issue?

I used to have (still have dont use it much) Nokia 9210. Very old by todays comparision but some features are just something which makes me wonder why no other phones have since. When I sent SMS by presing button SEND I had about 5 seconds to cancel it by pushing cancel button in OUTBOX folder. If I didnt I could just close the phone knowing that it will be send whenever phone gets back to mobile network.
So I wonder is there any registry tweak to keep trying to send SMS or re schedule failed sms? Or do I have to wait every time in the tube before I got out to send all the sms I wrote?
Backup is an internal application of Nokia 9210 which I used but never needed it. That phone has never crashed by meaning of loosing all of the information in 5 years!!!
I messed up today screen and lost all sms and other stuff on UNI just under a week of using. Is it the windows or the architecture that bad? Using Midget 0.1 Crosbow
For unknown reason whenever I plug the Uni in the PC and Active sync starts to synchronise it doesnt stop. After hard reset I was suprised that it didnt synchronise for at least a week.
What settings are wrong?
Because I cant change what will be synchronised and for example favourites doesnt do anything.
I use Active sync 4.5beta
I had Motorola A925 afterwards and that phone is crap. I could not get back to nokia 9210 because that doesnt support USIM, the only disadvantage of that phone.
I just hope that with all the backuping will not loose all data again, its a pain in the a***.
Thanks anyone who knows anything about tweaking SMS settings..

My MMS messages won't send (I don't have the correct settings), but they keep trying and advise me a few times a day that they're not going out. I'd guess that SMS messages do the same thing...? Cheers,
I got my phone and am quite happy with it so far. I am on the Rogers network in Canada. Everything works great except that incoming msg are showing up 5 hours behind on the time stamp which throws off my sms threads as my msg time stamp correct on the way out.
So if I sent a msg at 9PM and they reply it shows there reply the same day but at 4PM of the same day? Any ideas why this is happening? It's happening from any number I get a txt from.
Thanks
Anyone having this issue or is it just me? I know this has been an issue in the past on various WM units but I'm not sure what the fix is with 6.5?
Anyone help please?
Hi.
Not sure how this connects to your problem, but usually (always) when i send text messages everything is datestamped correctly.
But when I use Phonelog to log my calls to calendar it is 5 hours off.
I have been bugging the developer for years now. But I am the only one who this happens too.
sad face.
My timestamps are exactly 5 hours behind. What developer are you trying to reach? What do you think the issue is? I think it must be a WM 6.5 issue or an network time issue? I've read about this before with other devices, just not 6.5 devices yet.
Anyone?
I'll do some more google research.
This app.
Every update he makes it still is 5 hours off.
Maybe u could give this app a try.
Great app. Barely works when it;s 5 hours off every time...
http://www.infinityball.com/phonelog
Somewhere there is a post on his site with me asking him to fix it.
It would be cool if there was a solution for all of us.
No other app does the funky time stamping...
Maybe this link will help you:

i dont have timezone diff but i got this issue
1st sms (i send him) my time show 12.00
2nd sms (his replY) his time show 11.50 on my mobile
mea his sms is infront of my sms as i only can sort by time or by name
end up if i sort the thread by using "sort by time" the whole thread went message..
as u know which is my send sms with his sms reply
no fix for this?
Got a friend from Starhub who had this issue on his Treo Pro. I'm not certain if the fault lies with Starhub or WM!
cannot be network as this is very standard.....
sms time stamp should use mobile owner time as timestamp..
i dont have this issue when i use on htc diamond

Hey, I have the exact problem, I am also using Rogers, and I also got the 5 hrs off. That makes all the msg received on the top.
Hope someone could help.
try this
it may work
Usually...
More often than not, SMS time stamping issues are something to do with the network provider BUT sometimes, it can be how the phone's SMS software is talking to the network provider.
I had a Nokia N96 be +6hrs out while a Samsung with exactly the same SIM card in it and thus on exactly the same network/account setup etc, the time stamping was perfectly correct.
I updated the ROM on the Nokia to a newer version and the time stamping was perfect again.
I highly recommend anyone experiencing SMS time stamping issues to apply the HTC SMS hotfix that became available in the past few days.
i applied the latest HTC sms hotfix but it dont work for me..
already email HTC to see they have any suggestion a not.
my friend clock is faster/slower than my by few min but it euff to mass up the whole chat as u dunno which is your ans with his reply... (to what i know is basic on friend mobile clock not the network as i tested with 2 mobile)
but it actually shouldn't work in this way as it should basic on our clock to go
i had email to HTC and herre is their reply (i havent try yet.. later than try)
Thank you for contacting HTC.
With regards to your query, please be advised to try:
1) Go from settings->menu->all settings->connections->connection setup->select country and operator->ok to reconfigurate the SIM card service
2) press call key->menu->options->band->select the network connection type and GSM/UTMS mode according to the network provider's settings
If still no avail, we are quite sorry that you will have to backup all the personal data you have on your device though synchronisation or backup tool and perform a hard reset to re-install the whole system for your phone.
After a hard reset, the device is restored to its default settings-the way it was when you first purchased it and turned it on. Any programs you installed, data you entered, and settings you customized on your device will be lost. Only Windows Mobile software and other pre-installed programs will remain
To perform hard reset,
setttings->menu->(all)settings->system tab->clear storage
Thank you for your continuous support of our products and services. Should you require further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us again.
We look forward to be of service to you again.

im also on Rogers with the HD2 but i found a fix for this.
I was having my SMS come in with -5 hours on them as well, but after applying this registry change everything is working out (You also need to Soft Reset before the changes kick in)
Just edit the registry and set the value to 0
HKLM\Software\OEM\PhoneSetting\TrustTimeZoneField = 0x00000000(0)
Sorry i cant find the original thread where I got this fix, so dont account me for the credit!
Hope this helps!
**EDIT
i found the thread, it was in the Kaiser forum:

Talking to HTC support by e-mail is like talking to babies or monkeys. I recently tried to report 3 bugs, the answer I got back was ridiculous, the support person obviously was not able to read, only giving one-line answers, that were totally beside the point. Replying did not make it better. Maybe they are using children in the countryside in China posting random standardized answers.
I have since sold my HD2 because without reliable SMS I cannot conduct business, and a company that are so incompentent that you cannot even file bug reports is not worth any of your money.
Also, the description to the SMS "fix" that has been published on their website, completely ignoring to tell what problems it fixes, makes me think they have employed some pretty incompetent people. Any company with the slightest bit of self respect knows that when they issue a patch of fix, they must tell what was wrong and what it fixes.
i dont have -5hr but the timestamp which send by friend is not match with me.. it seen like all reply sms from frienz are using their mobile timestamp rather than my...

I'm currently forced to use WiFi instead of data to access the internet. Since I'm now leaving WiFi on all the time, I can no longer send SMS messages. And I'm not sure I'm receiving them. Is that normal? Is there some sort of setting I need to change? Or is this the old SMS bug from the past?
Thanks.
-Bob-
Pretty sure you have to have data access to send SMS, as it's phone number based, so phone service is required.
there shouldn't be a problem sending and receiving txts when wifi is on.I surf over wifi all day long with no phone issues.

The strange thing is that NOW I'm receiving and able to send with wi-fi on.
Guess I'll have to turn on "Request delivery report" for now and hope I receive my messages.
It's odd that after 3 months, I've suddenly experienced the dreaded SMS bug.
BTW, can anyone tell me how to access the out box to see if the unsent messages are there?
-Bob-
on the messaging tab,
all messages - menu - settings - traditional mode. makes it easier to switch between in and out box etc.
the outbox usually keeps the messages those could not be sent ... if there 're any of it so ur suppose is ture..and i think there is a number u can define to send a message...not sure about hd2 but xperia x1 my phone automatically get the config...

Well...no unsent messages!? The "Sent Items" shows all my messages as having been sent, but I know they weren't received. Now I'm starting to wonder if there isn't some user error on my part.

I agree.
SMS was never designed to be instantaneous, and networks will argue this case.
Wait a few days beforehand, then ask your network provider if they do not appear, it may be a 'stuck' SMS in the network's system causing issues.
I've known a text message to take 363 days to arrive...

The messages that I sent at 8:00 this morning, that were not received, suddenly flooded into the recipient's phones at 11:00. Since they weren't sitting on my phone, as far as I could tell, I guess T-Mobile was hanging on to them. Odd. That's never happened before.

Hello Guys,
First I just want to say I love the forum, read many threads on here last night and despite being a total noob to flashing, developing etc I thought I'd have ago and flashing my G1.
Well it went well, love the new software, but I have one problem - I can't download from the Market place - whatever application I choose to download just stays as 'downloading' but nothing actually comes down - my data connection works just fine, with normal internet browsing working normally.
I wonder if anyone could make a suggestion - please find my phone set up data
HTC G1/Dream
Firmware 2.1-update1
Baseband version 62.505.20.17H_2.22.19.26I
Kernel version 2.6.34-cyanogenmod
Mod Version CyanogenMod-5.0.8-DS
Build Number EPE54B
Thanks again!
Also noticed that despite inside the notifications menu, I have the LED turned on - when I receive a text the light doesn't flash?
Thanks
Ok, thats one problem fixed - the issue with downloads looks like a Marketplace issue - so that's all good!
So, just one other thing - when voicemails or texts are received the light doesn't flash - even though I've got it set up correctly in the settings....
Anyone else with this problem or have any tips?
The notificaton LEDs only work when the screen is off. You really don't need them when it's on.
Sure, but even when my screen is off and I get a text the LED doesn't blink.
Try checking that the missed call LED is checked under call settings.
All of a sudden without doing anything at all, it's working now - very odd.
This new OS is pretty Juicy on the battery, but not sure if its the fact I've been getting to know it all day.
A bug found by the looks of things - none of my contacts will save?
I've added the same person 3 times and it says saving contacts but when I got back in to contacts it isn't there .......anyone offer some suggestion(s)?
I've tried to synch with google and nothing happens - why doesn't the contact save to the phone or SIM? I'm not overly interested in storing contacts on Google - the standard firmware for the phone stores them on the phone/sim - where in the settings does it dictate where a contact is stored to ?
Thanks
Solved, the contact wasn't displayed as some of the boxes under contact settings weren't ticked - why on earth would I want to "hide" my contacts?? Oh well ......thanks
Hi!
Sorry if there is alredy a similar topic for this. I searched before, but can't find any information to solve my problem.
I have an X8 / E15i, with 2.1 running on it.
BTW I've alredy rooted it, but the problem was the same before the rooting, too.
1. I can send SMS messages, but I can rarely receive some. Sometimes, I never get the message, sometimes there is a very big delay. HOW???
2. I can't use the MMS service. Can't send and can't receive, either.
My MMS configuration is good, data traffic is on, but modified the APN, to prevent expensive data costs (not the MMS APN!).
Please help me, if you know some solution to this
Thank you very much!!
Well regarding your problem that your not able to receive SMS - is your internal phone storage full? Do you see that warning in the notifications?
That's a pretty annoying issue Android still has, it also bothered me before...
Incoming SMS never reach you as long as your internal phone storage is full.
Try uninstalling some unnecessary apps and reboot the phone, if that's the case. And then: Wait. I had to wait like 24 hours until all the undelivered SMS finally reached me.
Aaaaaah, I can't believe that. It's a shame, but let's give a try
I uninstalled some, now I'm waiting. I hope it will be OK. Thanks a lot!
That's why I want to install app2sd, but I can't...I did everything they wrote to install it, but it's not working...and after that, my phone can't connect to WiFi.
So I restored it...
edit: my message arrived...you were right....it's a BIG BIG shame to SE
...but I still have the MMS problem...
