When i bought my TD2 a few days ago the gravity sensor was not working at all.
In the G-Sensor settings i can check / uncheck a few options but there is only an Exit soft-key. After exit the settings everything keeps like it was before.
I tried several cabs witch i found in this forum (G-Config, GSensorCalibrator, gsen ...) but nothing worked.
By chance i discovered some settings in the registry and played around with them:
HKLM\System\GDI\ROTATION
With the following entries now it works sometimes but sometimes not:
Angle = 90
FULLSCREEN = 0
LandscapeFixed = 0
LandsscapeMode = 4
PCDLO = 2
Has anybody an idea of the meanings of this keys?
Or maybe a better idea how to get the sensor to work?
Operating System is WM6.1
what is not working is it the applications or?
when you go to g-sensor calibrate does it indicate movement of the devive,
if yes your sensor is working fine.
you can use g-config to define which apps will rotate

I have been experimenting with different cubes and at the moment my money is on FTouchSL (formerly FTouchFlo) with SCLPC++. Big thanks to the developer of FTouchSL (this is now a commercial program) and Slither2006
Please see FTouchSL and SCLPC++ threads for more info.
After quite alot of head scratching and tweaking of default settings it all works very well indeed. The TouchFlo within my current ROM is simply disabled within the FTouchSL config so doesn't conflict.
I can go into more of the detail with particular settings if others are having problems.
Does your touch keyboard lag when usign touchflosl? It lagged pretty bad for me when i had FTouchFlo installed.. so had to remove it. (e.g. letters didnt highlight when pressed on touch keyboard, etc)

Yes, I have.
I have installed SCLPC++ Cube and it works fine launching it from the installation directory.
Then I've installed FTouchSl (for the moment in trial mode)
but I'm not able to find the exact settings.
Also it seems that some conflict with ROM touchflow is present.
Since you were successful, I'll try again.
Now the SCPLC++ cube is starting well but together to the original one.
How could I disable the original cube ?

Actually I hadn't noticed what happens as I tend to use the touch keyboard with a finger and not the stylus... anyway my keyboard works fine with no perceptable lag and the correct colour change.

I have registered my FTouchSL but I know some of the settings are disabled in the Trial version. The main FTouchSL settings I have include:
Timeout = 500ms
Scrolling - disable with TouchFlo
Gesture timeout = 300ms
Launch zone dimensions: Left=45, Right=40, Top=80, Bottom=100
Up-Down gesture = Launch application: SCLPC++
Active corner delay = 500ms
Exceptions: SCPPC++ (scrolling, gestures and active corners disabled)

With the ROM I am using (see signature) there is a utility in Settings called ROM Settings. One of the Tabs on this is for HTC TouchFLo and I have unchecked Scroll and Cube here.
Thanks for your reply.
Unfortunatly no such setting is available in the original rom and the original cube is still alive.
Here is the registry change to disable the cube:
HKLM\Software\OEM\TFLOSettings change EnableCube from 1 in 0
Now the SCPPC++ cube works well. But moving the finger from up to down, the cube disappears, but it still remains in background.
Is the same for you ?

Great you found the registry settings, I started looking too but hadn't found it. There is one near it for disabling TouchFlo scrolling aswell.
Your other point... yes the cube does stay open in the background so it appears rather than fading up from the bottom when you first bring it up. I wonder if this is by design? I'll post this query in the SCLPC++ forum.
SCLPC++ conflict with TFloCube
I had this same issue. Just add the SCLPC++ exe to the exclusion list in TFlow configurator it will solve the issue. No need to edit the reg
I know GSen will rotate TT7, but not all ROMs are compatible.
Strikes me as odd that TT7 will note natively rotate to landscape in the same way Opera or HTC Album does. Especially given that when in landscape mode the TT7 screen is arguably better layed out than in portrait. Seems no accident and TomTom surely have designed it to lay out nicely in Landscape. Further I read that this build is designed for use on the Diamond which the programmers must know has a GSensor.
To this end what are the chances of this capability actually being in TT7 now but not activated. Slim chance I suppose.
I tried playing with
HKLM\Software\HTC\SmartTouch\Tom Tom Navigator
adding keys such as
"rotate"=dword:00000001
"EnableRotateScreen"=dword:00000001
"EnableLandscape"=dword:00000001
and various others I dreamed up.
No Joy.
Are there any Alternatives to GSen to get the TT7 screen to go landscape?
Is this an oversight by TomTom or intentional?
Try this:
Change your registry to enable screen rotation:
HKLM - System - GDI - Rotation - HideOrientationUI (Change from 1 to 0)
Then, map your button to the rotation tweak:
Settings -> Buttons -> Map with <Rotate Screen>
When you would like to rotate your screen, just hold your Phone button.
I use this for Voda's SatNav, works very well.
Mate you are a bloody legend. Works a treat. Thank you so much for that. Will definitely be filing that little tip away as a keeper for future reference.
Big 10x!
What a simple solution to a very painful issue
tt7 landscape

It works perfectly with tt7 on diamond. Just tuch one icon.
Where exactly (which folder?) you stored the script? Was there a need to make changes, as there is no "storage card" in the Diamond?

Simply great. Add it to the tweaks thread!
The registry method works great for me as well. Yet if you look on the attached thread (suggested by Corona):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...=288167&page=2
There might be a better solution via this script. I was wondering if it works for TT7. I failed to check as I need some installation guide (i do not know what exactly to do with the mortscript to make it work).

Hi, I am the new owner of a touch hd and wanted to know what my best option was for landscape texting and if their was any auto-rotate landscape texting available? even if their is no auto-rotate, can anyone direct me to my best option for landscape texting? thanks
Derrick
Hi !! 24 hours HD owner and I adore it. Actually I found a cool application called Gyrator2 , it switches to landscape and rotate screen depending on how you hold the device ( like iphone ). Check it : http://gyrator.brins0.net/?page=downloads
you can try the new GSen from the Touch Pro 2: http://www.fuzemobility.com/gsen-now-enabled-in-more-apps/
you can add individual applications to the list as well but it works on most applications without any need to add more: http://www.mobilitydigest.com/gain-more-control-of-the-gsen-apps-tp2-edition/
I've used this on a Touch HD and it works
I have tried gsen.
At the moment im am using Dutty's 2.1 Extreme ROM and far as i know manilla should work in lanscape too.
Rotating Manilla seems to be disabled in gsen and i read that i need to add some registry keys in HKCU\Software\HTC\HTCSENSOR\GSensor\.
I dont really understand how that keys need to look like to make it work. Does anyone else had success?
Edit:
Just found out how it works.
You could also try ChangeScreen...
You could also try ChangeScreen which is my personal favourite as I find it easier to configure than Gyrator:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=468488
Dear All
I own a Blackstone with dutty 3.9 rom, WM6.1
I disabled Manila, I have few applications running.
I have a strange behaviour: the screen which is the active one when I start a phone call, always rotates. I dislike it. I wish it stays on on vertical position.
What I have done?
Installed changeScreen_conf and tried several settings (the prone windows process seems to be called "cprog").
I have added cprog in the "exception" list > no way to remove rotation of the phone screen...
Installed G-Config and tried to remove any application which seems related to rotation in phone: no result.
Installed HD Tweak and put sensitivy for "rotation" at lowest level > no improvements..
What can I do next?
What I am doing wrong here?
Thanks and waiting
Saulo866
Shall I try another rotation application whihc can really influence the behaviour of phone screen?
Thanks and waiting
Saulo
I don't have that ROM, but Gyrator 2 works a charm on my relatively stock HD. Search the +120 replies on the Gyrator 2 thread and it explains how to solve that exact problem. Mind you a playing with Gyrator for a few mins and you'll figure it out yourself.
Thanks a lot S4, I will give a try.
Do you believe i should unitstall first "changeScreen" and any other related rotation application G-config? One of them is embedded in the ROM (G-Config)
Thanks a lot!
Saulo
No need to have duplicate rotation apps as this will only confuse your device, especially if they have different settings. Uninstall one & reset device before installing another

Hey All,
I just got my phone this friday and installed tomtom 7on it.
It works nice & fast for those who want to know... But how can I get it into landscape?
I read on internet that you need to put your phone in landscape modus before starting up tomtom but that doesn't work (rotating doesn't help)
So what I also read is that you can assign a button to force rotation... But well I can't find the settings... Any help?

Use a 3th party gsensor app.
Add TomTom in it, and allow it to go landscape when putting the phone in landscape.
Hmm sorry for being noobish (this is my first windows mobile phone), but where can I find that specific G-Sensor app, I googled but all I can find are some silly G-Sensor games etc...

Thanks! You saved my day
Hmm sorry to bother again... But the program crashes when I start it, "MissingMethodException" and than it's telling me that I need a newer version of the compact framework...

Does it work in the HD2, or do you have it running on a different model ?
I use Change Screen on my Diamond.
You can set TomTom to ONLY work in landscape mode, so when you start the app, it then rotates to landscape, and will not flip to portrait and back again when you go round a corner a bit fast.

Running on my new hd2 ofcourse
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=347705
I used that and assigned it to the answer call button (did this by changing the button settings).
I just hold it down for a few secs and it rotates manually, hold down again and it goes back to normal! I prefer this than using the gsensor

Yup. If you're a memory freak like me and doesnt want to install unnecessary cabs running in the background when HTC already has a rotate function, i suggest using what's already there. Holding down for 2sec and voila! landscape. I find all the other rotate programs to be a huge pain (and sometimes dont work at all!) and take up to much RAM. Assigning the <rotate screen> to the call button was the best thing I've ever did.
Leo hardware button
Nice programme, simple, effective. But with al LEO it seems you can not assign hardware buttons to programmes. Or I am I doing something wrong here?
Same here... Found where I can assign the buttons, only no buttons appear so I can't select anything...
The strange thing is that autorotation of tomtom 7.916 worked on the HD out of the box which doesn't work on the HD2. Perhaps the API changed but i hope TomTom / HTC comes with an update to fix this.
Sorry wrong answer. Deleted.
Auto rotation working fine in my Brandnew HTC now.
Found the tips to get it working somewhere else.
Step 1:
Go to the following Registry key:
HKCU\Software\HTC\HTCSENSOR\Gsensor\ModuleName
Add a new STRING Value:
Name: TomTom
Value: \Program Files\navigator\tomtomnavigator.exe (if you have a different language you may need to change Program Files to whatever you have)
Please note that in this case TomTom is installed on the Device, NOT the Storage Card.
Step 2:
Go to the following Registry key:
HKCU\Software\HTC\HTCSENSOR\Gsensor\Whitelist
Add a new STRING Value:
Name: TomTom
Value: MunichWinClass
Now do a Soft Reset, and now when you start TomTom and put your HD2 in Landscape, TomTom will rotate automatically.
Maybe someone can make a cab for this ???
yep i've used that registry fix above and that does get tomtom to auto rotate, better than using a 3rd party app, although if you had bsbtweaks installed you might have been able to get it to auto rotate using that.
Personnaly, I use BsB Tweak to enable landscape on many programs, included TomTom
