Help! I can't detect my micro SD card. - Touch CDMA General

Hey guys. My Vogue can't detect my SD card. I took it out to test it and it works in other things, and I also put in another one and it didn't read it. So it's not the card. I also reflashed and it still wont' detect it. I even tried spraying it with contact cleaner. The weird thing, is every once in a while, it will give me the 'new card detected' message and i will have access to the card for a short while before it vanishes.
Any ideas? I can't really do too much with it without the SD card. Thanks.

what is the phone running? windows mobile or android?
it happens to me sometimes in windows mobile 6.1 i just take the card out then put it back in. and after like 2 or 3 times it works.

I'm running NFSFAN's 6.5. I have tried taking it in and out with no success. Thanks for your suggestion though.

Please Help, Serious Problem... MicroSD card not being recognized!

Hello,
I own an HTC Touch (Sprint), and the MicroSD card is not being recognized! I have reformatted the card multiple times (Fat32 in both Mac OS X and Windows XP), and both OS's see the card and all it's files fine. On the Touch, however, it is a different story. The phone recognized it fine, but then it started calling it Storage Card 2 (due to mail creating a Storage Card folder for attachments, I'm guessing, so this might not have any relation to the problem). Today, the card just randomly... went away. It stopped showing in File Explorer or any other application, after I opened the Storage Card 2 folder, which opened half-way, then closed. I reinserted the card, and it re-appeared, but when I tried to open it, it disappeared once again, and to never return again. I am now out of ideas. I have tried some registry edits to try to fix this problem, but to no avail.
The device does also not turn on when the card is inserted or removed. Does this mean that the hardware itself maybe to blame?
Any help would be HIGHLY appreciated!
Edit: It seems that the right connectors are not touching, and pushing the card up in a manner that makes them touch allows the device to successfully read the card! Any advice on what to do? Maybe I should add a small amount of tape to make the card thicker?
Edit: The device is now reading the card! I just moved the card up on the left side to make it touch the connectors, and now it seems to be working fine. I removed and re-inserted the card and it still works great.
Thank you,
Derek Wilkinson
Lol! The first thread I've seen answered in the original post! I knew you would find your answer.
Haha, yeah I just kept editing as I went rather than posting more...
But I really was worried that something was shorted, but everything is working fine now

Phone won't constantly read memory card

So i got my new phone from a warranty replacement, flashed android on it and put the data on the SD card, 10minutes later then phone won't read the card and locks up, I reboot and find out that the android bootloader won't read the SD card, and won't until i pull the battery and card then put both back in. I've tried it with 2 separate cards and neither want to work correctly. I'm currently trying to put winmo on to test if it has the same problem.
My problem is that it's not constant, so i can't go into the store and point and say look.
-Is there somehow i can test the card in the phone, either winmo or android (pref winmo since i have to lock it if i send it in)
-Is it possible that this is an android only problem?
On a side note, i'm pretty sure this phone has problems of it's own, it refuses to mount the SD card when connected to USB, in android it 'mounts' but 3 seconds later it says preparing sd card and resets the USB connection. In winmo it seems to work just fine

You may have a dirty or damaged set of pins in the card port.
I just started having the same problem with my tilt, did you come up with a solution

yeah, told sprint they gotta replace it or ima come over to their house with a baseball bat, got my new one last tuesday and haven't had a problem. I suspect it was something with the hardware, not sure what though, it would work for either 10 seconds or hours so i'm not sure what it was. It wasn't software though...

Not good: System freeze now ext SD card not readable...

Strange problem this morning.
I was moving pictures around using Fish Bowl Gallery. The app froze while deleting a picture/photo and had to reboot to get things going again. My phone then now cant read the external SD card. The phone is asking me to re-format.
I've very reluctant to format and looking for advice on what else I can do to fix this without reformatting the SD card.
With my reckoning I doubt there is much more I can do but thought better to ask just in case.
Strange:
I'm in the office so it's hard to use my PC for diagnostics as I don't have Hi Suite or drivers installed on the office PC.
Went up the road an bought a multi card USB adaptor ($7). The PC reads the card fine (which is great as I can now do a back up).
Will play with it a bit more and see what happens.
Maybe I am lucky but...
after backing up the SD card I popped it back in, rebooted and everything is back to "normal".
I had something like that on my card... i had to format it, and worked again, but know it corruptes the files or they disappear.
I runned some diagnostics tests and nothing appear.... no idea of what is happening with my samsung card :S

HD2 can't read SD card

Hey,
I just took out my SD card to view it on my PC and when I returned it to the phone, it would not read. No problems on thePC, but the HD2 says there's no card mounted. Tried another card and it showed up so I put mine back in and it would not. Put the other one in again and now it doesn't show up either. Can't find anyone that has had a similar problem by searching.
ARRRGGHHHH!!!!
Any ideas?
Thank you,

Adapter?
Hey,
I guess you used an adapter to view your micro-sd card on your PC?!
My adapter has a switch on the side which enables/disables read/write protection for the micro-sd card. If yours has that too, make sure that the read/write protection is disabled!
Greetz
Thank you,
It has started being seen again. Don't know why it stopped or restarted... Lost use for a few hours.

Happened AGAIN!
Okay, this is getting annoying...
Rebooted the phone and go a message sayiing "damaged SD card" rebooted again, same thing. took card out, works with a reader on PC still. reinstalled and no good. repeated three times and rebooted again...found it, this time.
Anyone have any reason this could be happening?
Thanks,
OZ

[Q] SD card reading issue

Hi Guys! Recently my DVP felt down and the LCD is crashed so I would like to make a use of its SD card. Here I encountered some problems. Non of the card readers wants to open this card. It even doesn't show up as a mounted device (Debian). Is it somehow locked or so ? When I pack it back to DVP it works still fine. Any ideas how to format it to make use of it ?
Regards
I have the same exact issue as you!!
Dropped my DVP and cracked the screen. Still turns on, but can't see anything as the LCD is dead.
None of my card readers read the card. I have other SDHCs which open perfectly.
I would also like to know if there is some way to force format it.
My card reader drive on my laptop does not show up unless a card is inserted. Since it isn't reading the card, nothing is showing up.

This is a known issue, All windows phones lock the SD card and format it in an unreadable format.
There used to be a list in the HD2 WP7 section with devices that can reformat the SD card. (I believe nokia phones are among them).
Thanks man!
