Is there any solution yet for auto data disconnect for weather update?
I know they have made it for emails...
Up, i use Manila Dial-up its ok for mail but not weather

I've managed to fix the problem, now I have the MMS folder in the messanging section.
What PDA are you using if it is the same I can tell you how I did it.

There is a cab file on this site that recreates the link between arcsoft mms softare and pocket outlook.
The functionality is all still there, but the link is generally broken.

my first post here. I do apologize for any silly question..... I have looked throughout the threads but did not find some answers so...
Ok here are the topics
1) I noticed that the add/remove applications function does not remove some softwares sometimes. Even if the application has been removed its icon is still there and the application still works ?Why is it so Am I missing something ? (fully removed also with active sync)
2) After an msn session, and after I closed everything with spb 3.1 my Qtek self connects to the internet (umts) every minute. Impossible to stop it unless I reboot it or switch radio off. How come ?

to question 1 - could this be an application stored in the ROM section ? If so - you're not going to be able to just delete it
Does anyone knows if there is an application that will autoupdate all the tabs when connected to the internet? (that is WiFi or activesync).
I know about the autoupdate feature on each tabm but you still have to scroll into the tab for it to update, what i really mean is an application that will automatically update weather, mail and stocks tabs without scrolling on it.

As far as I'm aware there is no such application. Would be advantageous if such an app existed. Hopefully I am mistaken and someone can enlighten us with this.

in every "updateable" tab (mail, stocks and weather) there is option of "download Data automatically" and you can set the frequency of updates (except in weather where you can set it to download weather data automatically but can't set the frequency.)
WARNING: such automatic update can burn a hole in your pocket by using huge bandwidth if you are using GPRS / 3G with limited data allotment.

Right so my thinking was, that it should be possible to tweak hack those settings to do the following:
1 update automatically when it detects a connection
2 or/and at fix intervalls
3 take away the annoying "do you want to update now"
warning everytime you go to those screens when you enable the auto update function.
I have no knowledge of such things was hoping someone who has would take up the challenge .

ok silly question: why would u wanna do that? If it's for battery duration u'd rtaher keep the 3g connection always on...
To reduce the effects of Radiation absorption, Thermal effects and other Health hazards and at last but not least battery backup...
So what sollution did you use?
For the moment i use Manila Dial-up Enabler/Disabler v0.6 but i have no real issues with auto disconnect specifically after weather update.

i emailled HTC support over this and they sent me a data tool app but all that seems to do is switch my connections on and off, i have sent another message to them so i`ll let you know the outcome

Hi all,
I'm cannot update weather into the weather widget of HTC sense: I always get a connection error and I'm asked to retry or give up.... but even if I retry I alway got the same error.
What I realized is that:
- if I go into the weather widget -> menu -> add city: the city list is empty
- using the "weather database editor" application: the city list is empty
could it be that the city db gets corrupted (along with cities I were registered to)?? and that's the reason why I got the connection error?

Hi, I have same problem, i belive that url in database editor is not working anymore. Only my location is updating, any other location giving error "There was a connection problem while attempting to download weather data. Retry?".
If anyone know what to do, please reply. If i solve the problem, ill post it here.

I found this thread http://www.smartphoneforums.com/forums/htc-touch-pro/119372-weather-fix-found.html and yesterday I managed to solve this issue... even if I forgot to update the thread, sorry for that
I simply changed the key
HKCU\Software\HTC\Manila\Weather.ServerURLOverride to HKCU\Software\HTC\Manila\Weather.ServerURLOverride_OLD and restarted the phone.
In that way weather tab will be using the original url for weather updates.
