New App Idea for TP2 - Touch Pro2, Tilt 2 Themes and Apps

Hey All, I came across an Idea for the TP2, could be used for any for the most part. But As I was coming here I hooked my phone to the usb cable to sync, and then it dawned on me, unless there is one out there already.
Is it possible or could it be done to have the usb cable also act as a sound relay? What I mean is, we all hookup our tp2 to the computer to sync, but I also use MyMobiler to see the screen, so I was wondering since some of us used wired headsets, could an app be created to send the sound signals through the USB cable to the computer, and have the computer work as a handsfree speakerphone? You could use the phone mic since it would be close enough to you.
Just a thought

Well, there's this... http://www.bluesoleil.com/products/Default.aspx?TID=14
Can't remember whether it was Panasonic or Motorola who had this PC sync program which also allowed phone calls though the computer. Loved it! It isn't a new idea, but it is certainly a good one.

Only downfall is you have to have a mic on your computer, I figured you'd just use the phone mic itself. But damn someone beat me to the idea

i would like to see the usb send an audio signal out from the phone to lets say the cd player to hear music playing from the phone...

After reading it further, that works off bluetooth, not a usb cable, so the hunt is on still

PC GPS receiver on Wizard...possible?

I've been given an older gps receiver that connects to a pc via usb. The driver used in that instance is a usb to serial driver and ends up connecting to one of the COM ports. I was wondering if it may be possible to connect the receiver to my Wizard. I've got an adapter that will enable me to at least plug the receiver into my phone, but I'm not really sure how to get the phone to recognize the receiver.
Does anyone know of an app that will allow me to use the mini usb port as a serial port in any way. I know this may be a long shot, but wanted to try. I can try to write something myself in C# if need be to intercept the messages, but I don't really know how to receive those messages through a COM port on the phone. Thanks!!!
By the way, I'm using an unlocked 8125, running WM6 Most Beautiful.
The problem is actually the Wizard doesn't have a USB Host so the RS232 to USB adapter you might be thinking of won't work here. As for getting it to work with the PC, perhaps if the PC is providing the GPS as a service?
I see. I've got it working on the PC, but could probably write something to get it to the phone, but might be a little pointless if I'm already connected to a laptop.
So, it looks like the only way to connect a peripheral to the Wizard is through Bluetooth. Think that is a fair assessment?

Using the MDA/Wizard as abluetooth reciever for my PC

Hello developers and members, I've searched the forum for this but I can't seem to find anything or maybe I'm looking wrong but heres my question.
I have a T-Mobile MDA (Wizard) I have it flashed to the latest T-Mobile ROM, I wanted to know is there a way to use my MDA as a bluetooth reciever for my PC, has anybody done this? is there a hack, app, or something to do this? But first and foremost is this even possible? Thanks in advance for all your responses.
you might want to elaborate on what you mean by "bluetooth receiver" I guess you mean transfer files to the phone from your PC?
BTW welcome to the forums, I see that was your first post
Elaboration

OK I see the confusion, basically a receiver, I want to be able to talk to other bluetooth devices but from my PC thru my MDA.
I want my MDA to act as a medium .
What I want to do is my friend has a Motorola RAZR V3M or sumtin from Sprint and I want to transfer MP3s from my PC to her RAZR but it has only two ways to do it, VIA Bluetooth and by taking out its Micro SD card and inserting it in a reader. unfortunately we don't have either option, but however I have my MDA, I paired the two devices but the MDA saw and paired with the phone and was like "so what" I can't seem to do anything with it. So I figured maybe I can have the MDA act as a transmitter/receiver with my PC and my PC will see it and will allow me to transfer the MP3s VIA Bluetooth to the RAZR. This is a mouthful hopefully you all get the picture.
(MY PC)------[USB]--------(MDA) ~~~~Bluetooth Signal~~~~ (RAZR)
*If not above is a little diagram
Want to if this is possible cuz I would rather not buy anything to facilitate this either, oh BTW I searched Motorola and it seem that there is a Program to do what I want via USB but they don't have the software available on the site for download only on CD that came with the phone and obviously we don't have the CD.
But wanted to know if this is possible so other things too?
***Thank you for the welcome been a member for a month i think but this is my first post and BTW this site is amazing, keep up the good work to all you developers and testers and to whom ever I don't mention, your work has increased the value and use on my MDA and my friend's Wing (T-Mobile's MDA V2)***
ACtually, you should be able to plug the razr in via USB, just like jsut about every other phone that has a usb connection.

Yea I tried that but my PC sees it and doesnt do anything with it, so I'm assuming that you need the Moto CD but again we don't have it, but for the most part my idea isn't just for the RAZR, more of a impromtu Bluetooth transmitter for the PC to use.

you need to install moto phonetools before plug the Razar in your computer, or you can storage the music in your Wizard and the send them to the Razor phone by Bluetooth.
about your questio I'm pretty sure you can use the wizard like a bluetooth modem transiter but I don't konw how to setup the a network

Windows 7 & Bluetooth

Just bought an IOGear bluetooth adaptor for my pc. I installed it fine but when I try to connect my Hero, it doesnt show up. Has anyone successfully paired their Hero with Windows 7 using Bluetooth? Dont see why it wouldnt find my phone. I made it discoverable. :Stumped:
Pair it to do what?
You can't transfer files between the two until the Hero is updated by HTC.
Well i thought maybe I could transfer music, files, contacts or whatever. Maybe make calls using my pc or something stupid. I dunno, thought I could do some cool sh*t with it but I guess not. What a waste. I knew I shouldnt have bought it. Oh well, its getting returned until this phone can have some use for it.
Ye no file transfers until HTC update our Heros (shouldn't me more than a month or two now).
You may be able to make calls and send SMS from your pc though with some specialist software for your PC/MAC. I used to be able to answer calls and send texts straight from my computer with my HTC Diamond (windows mobile). There may well be a Android version of such software if you google it.

Usb switch and other Apps not in start menu

i was looking through the windows directory and i found a few exe files not linked to in the start menu. switchusb and QCamera where the more interesting and btspy which im not sure what it is supposed to do.
usbswitch has 2 options 1 microsoft usbfn and 2 qc composite - dun, diag, nmea
reset is required to change mode.
qcamera is of course a camera app with many settings such as frame rate control and the ability to change the file type of both pictures and videos. WARNING AFTER I USED QCAMERA MY LG CAMERA APP WOULD FREEZE I HAD TO DO A RESTORE OF MY WINDOWS DIRECTORY FILES FROM AN EARLIER DATE TO USE CAMERA AGAIN.
also a gpsoneapp for gps testing if anyone is having gps problems
i also found an exe i hope can help it is called WceSetAudio.exe it has a few options that is listed in the fmradio post on lg-expo.com that i will copy paste here
handset, headset, speaker phone, TTY headset, TTY VCO, I2S full duplex, I2S RX/TX, FMradio, SpeakerVoice, HeadsetVoice, Headset Stereo speaker...,headset stereo..., headset mono speaker..., and headset mono speaker...
this reminds me of linux where i can never find the right audio out...
the ones i put ... on it is cut off and i cannot read the last word. i have not tried to change anything because this is my main or only phone and i dont have time for it to mess up on me.
maybe this can fix fm radio output.
also wifiengmenu.exe and browsermodedetec.exe says it changes browser to desktop mode but it didnt seem like it did.
i dont know if any one else has found the same programs already i just thought id let everyone know here
there was a simillar thread in the social groups. nice find on the qcamera. and the usbswitch. gonna check those out now.. thanks
i also found qtest and other test like qled...

sorry it is not qled.exe it is qtest_led_x.exe in place of x there is r,b,n,g for red, blue ,off, green and another qtest_ledtest.exe that flashes all colors.s it is with other exes such as qtest_gyro, ...vibtest, ...keytest....... they can all be accessed by going into engineer mod

I've tried the switch USB to see if it would finally let me sync my phone to PC via USB, but it did nothing. Still using bluetooth dongle to sync phone.
i saw somewhere sombody said they tried a different usb cable and their expo synced maybe you could try that.

Tried 3 different USB cables. There were only 2 or 3 times whee I was able to sync with USB after a PC reboot, once I unplugged and replugged it wouldn't work again. I've messed with this for days on 3 PC's, with different OS -XP, Vista, Win 7 64Bit all with the same results. Even a hard reset to the phone with no other apps installed.
I've seen some of the MS forums and alot of people with different devices are having the same issues with no resolve.
wish i knew a little more to help you. it seems like warraven knows what he is talking about hope he can help and you can figure it out.
As long as I can sync with BT I'll survive, but when the cooked ROMS start coming around, I'll be SOL, cause you can only flash via USB.
i had a fuze before the expo and i never plugged my fuze up to sync just did bluetooth or wifi. only time i plugged it up was to put stuff on the sd card like a rom or songs. when i flashed roms on my fuze i just did it by putting the ralphimg file on the sd card and flashed it by holding down some keys. htc phones are way better and flashing and customizing. if the expo could flash from sd ud be alright

USB mass storage in car

One thing I continue to miss from my blackberry days is my phone being recognized by my car stereo in mass storage mode. It was nice to control the phone music from my stereo. Has there been any hacks to get the Droid X to work like this? Putting it in mass storage mode doesn't seem to work. Im assuming thats because it really doesn't show up as a USB drive unless connected to a PC>
Sadly, not that I've found. I believe the issue is that Motorola forces a disc image containing worthless Windows drivers to mount when connected via USB. It mounts first (regarless of which USB setting or debugging mode is selected), which causes my stereo, and many others, to not recognize a USB source for music. This sadly came about with the update to Froyo last year. Motorola doesn't seem interested in unbreaking it

Yeah, I figured it had something to do with that. Sucks though I hope there is a hack at some point for this.
One thing that you can do is use blue tooth. If your auto doesn't have blue tooth you can buy something like a Jabra and go that route. I know it sucks having to spend money for something that should just work. But these do work rather well so at least it is a option.

My car has bluetooth, but sadly not for audio. Yes, it sucks since it used to work just fine before last year's Froyo update. I've been forced into using the USB connection for charging only and using a 3.5mm cable for audio, which impacts quality a little bit, looks fugly, but at least it works. I'll dust off my iPod Touch before I buy another piece of gear to [email protected]$% Motorola's screwup.
