Hi all, my first post on here and apologies if it asks stuff already covered, I've had a search but can't find what I'm looking for.
How long should emails show on my new HD2? Set up email last week using my old Orange SIM and all worked fine. Number ported across yesterday so I've swapped SIMS and after a mess about with the settings, I've now got it showing a mail that arrived this morning but nothing prior? As I'm not using Outlook, is there a way to get it to re-sync and show older mails or is there some kind of "validity" that means it only shows "fresh" ones?

I have a small problem witch my Contacts, when I save a new contact it shows with the last name first. Is there any solution or settings I have missed?
I want the first name first Now I open up the contact in Outlook on my desktop and save it again.
Have the latest ROM for my S100.
A solution has been posted before, and consists of 4 small cab files which give you 4 options in the pop-up menu when you select a contacT: firstname-lastname, lastname-firstname, company-first-last and company-last-first. Try a search on this forum or on Hofo, I am sure I got it from there. good luck!
I have searched the forums before posting but I couldnt find anything useful. If anyone knows where those 4 cab files are plz send me in the right direction.

Yep, that's the link I got them from. I got there through another forum, which was down yesterday and I could not remember the original forum and thread. I have emailed the cabs to all the people who emailed me asking for them, the people who read this thread from now on can find them through the link. read the install instructions in the posts in order to get the alfabetical order right. Finally a solution which should have been built-in from the start!

The Touch HD is my third HTC phone, and it's just so friggin' awesome. But I have one problem.
When i'm texting with a few friends, it's very rare that i go to the TF3D and read the message. I'd rather just leave the phone in "messages".
The problem here is that when i'm done, I'll have like 18 unread messages, and i'll have to go to the TF3D and go through all 25 messages that show up, and wait until they are marked as read.
So, my question is: Is there any way to mark all messages as read?
I tried the search function, but unfortunately nothing helpful came up.

I'm wondering if anybody knows if there's any way to get a "mark all as read" option from the TF3D screen on my mail and sms tabs. I have downloaded the "safe inbox extender" cab, which is better than before, but it would really be ideal if you could add an option in the OUTER tf3d tab so one doesn't actually have to go into the accounts page at all.

I'm wondering why this isn't available myself. The inbox extender is great, don't get me wrong but being able to mark all read from the TF3D would be amazing!

Why isn't this available? Also, why can't you reply, reply to all, forward etc... from the email tab (like you can in SMS tab)?
Has anyone had this problem where you can't open an email by clicking on an email from the Email Tab in Manila? I can open messages by clicking on Inbox. Does anyone know if this has been fixed before? Just HR the device and don't want to do it again. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

mainly because I find it hard that with a search in just HD2 General for "backup sms" you couldn't find anything out of the 85 threads that pop up. You hate when people say to search, a lot of people hate it when people ask questions that have been asked/answered a lot.
Here's a hint: don't use the top search where it shows a magnifying glass & a sprocket, right at the very beginning of the list of threads there's an item that says "search this forum". it shows on every forum & every post & is much better.
Here are a list of programs that work:
Jeyo Mobile Companion
SPB Backup
PIMbackup
M$ MyPhone
I personally use Jeyo, though it isn't free. It backs them up to M$ Outlook & you can restore as well.

As it happens I do also have a wry chuckle when someone posts a question that has been asnwered 3 threads down - but it is the slightly sneery need to dive in and smack a person down who is obviously just after some help from people who have been there and done it and does sometimes get on my wick [as it obviously did yesterday ]

As my calendar is already synced with google, contacts with outlook via activesync and pix etc are on the sd card I have just activated myphone and set it to sync sms only.
