Hi... i have Vodafone V1640 but i need unlock it..
Please Help me.. hdow i do this unlock ?????
Your options at the moment are to either contact vodaphone, send your phone off to IMEI check (£60+shipping), contact motin here on the forum (£40 and no need to send off your phone) or wait until buzz can crack the unlock (check the unlocking thread in the universal upgrading forum for details on how this is progressing)
EDIT: Just checked this myself and its looking like buzz has done it, just packaging it all up into a user friendly tool bofore handing it out.
who do VODAFONE V1640 £40 unlock !!!
Hi Thanks for reply and help..
But who do £40 unlock VODAFONE v1640 ??
and WHEN RESOLVE buzz that...?
Thanks again for help...
Sorry my english not good.
I called Vodafone and they unlocked for free - but it took two months of asking them!!!
I think now they will do it much more quickly, but they may charge a fee.

£40 unlock from Motin - http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?p=286119
As for Buzz, it a just wait and see when he releases the unlock porgram, there's a long running thread in the Universal upgrading forum, and when its ready I'm pretty sure it will hit the front page news section.

I submitted a request, and they said it will take up to six weeks as well. At least it's free! But I wonder whether it actually takes six weeks to get hold of the code for me or whether they're just keeping me as their customer for another 6 six weeks?
Strange I called vodafone last Thursday and they said it would take 7 to 10 days?? I hope for there sake (been with them for 5 years!) it dont take longer as I want to sell my universal next week
o2 have supplied me the handset locked to the network even though I purchased it out of contract outright.
I know there is no hardspl out there yet but anyone unlocked their HD2 yet?
o2 need to fill out a form and send it to HTC which could take 28 days

first handset i think o2 have locked.
is there no such thing as an imei unlock code generator ?? how do all these websites do it ??
if anyone can unlock my HD2 quicker i will pay for it !
Second in the google results is leo.unlock-now.com
I purchased the unlock code for my Touch HD (was locked on Orange) from blackstone.unlock-now.com

Yes i did ask O2 for it they said it would be upto 28 days... and would cost me 15.00 pounds.
i paid 17.99 on MOBILEUNLOCKED.COM for a 5-30 mins service which i thought was worth the extra few pounds.
digging around a bit there are a few websites this guy runs (the contact info in it is the same) and the e-mails come from mobileunlocked.com
If they clearly sold you a phone without simlock, they must provide a device without simlock, it is as simple as that. If they are not willing to change it fast, I would give it back and get it somewhere else.
If they are customer friendly, they usually do have ways and solutions. A Samsung phone I had was unlocked in a service center within 10 minutes, my Xperia took the same way. I actually never "buy" phones through contractual down payments...
will let you guys know how I get on with leo.unlock-now.com

may well be right ! can't remember that far back !
What get gets me is that people quote a few minutes to unlock but then they do not getting back to you.
If i had an e-mail saying sorry it will be 24 - 48 hours then, at least i would know. (sorry to moan !)
i've used leo.unlock-now.com as well, but put in the HD2 first rather than the HD2 T8585 (Which is the O2 one). Haven't heard back yet, but have sent an email to state what I did wrong. I'll let you know too!

mine is a T8585 as I have an o2 one.
also - can anyone with an o2 one find the screen allignment option? looks like o2 have basterdised the os a bit too much.
It's under settings>advanced>display but pointless as you don't have a stylus.
I do not have an advanced top level menu under settings!?

Anyone heard from their respective websites yet? I really doubt that a website will be able to unlock it over the insternet in "a few hours" when a phone provider has to send the information off to htc to get it done.
I have had bad experiences in the past trying to unlock sonys and nokias (not mine) and wouldnt use one again. Im sure there are very reliable sites out there but the ones I used which I researched before using just took my money then kept it for 2 days before saying that my phone couldnt be unlocked.
Freaky LOL
im thinking of buying htc hd2 from o2 for 400£ should it come unlock or unbranded?

You will have to ask them.
Good news everybody on UK O2 network. Just been on the phone with O2 today(1/12/09) and been advised that unlocking O2 HD2's is free. also been advised that it can take up to 28 days, but as long as it's FREE that's not abig issue. Sorry to other networks users, you might need to contact your network rpoviders if you HD2 is locked to your network.
Blue Skies...
yeah, O2 are unlocking all locked contract phones free, only exception being the palm pre. Just need to go to https://www.o2.co.uk/apps/help/help?qid=1&q1=2&route=unlocking&case=Handset Unlocking Form and fill in your details
Is this once your contract is fully paid-up? Why would they lock them in the first place?
Good news for some people, I guess I am lucky, because despite the contract my operator don't lock the HD2.

Did you get it for free? If you compare Globul's offer (almost UK SIM free price + 2 year contract) with any of the UK pay monthly offers you will understand. The Bulgarian mobile operators are simply pathetic and no one which uses their services is lucky.

well nearly all o2 phones are already unlocked at present it's just some xda's, blackberrys and iphones. They will unlock it for you whenever you want as long as you continue paying your contract
Thanks for the heads up just submitted the form and await the code
Thank you for the link - I was thinking of paying to get it unlocked anyway.
Help! I tried and it says
"The supplied IMEI doesn't appear to be valid. It must be of 15 digits." The HD2 reports back with a 17 digit number....

yeah, ignore the last two digits displayed on the actual device (if you did *#06#). Just input the first 15 displayed.
The number on the box is 15 digits long and the number on the phone is 17. I don't know why.

Nope, I did't get it for free, actually 389 EUR + 13 EUR/month for 1 year = 545 EUR and they give me - 750Mb internet traffic, 75 messages and 150 minutes. If I have to buy the device alone, I have to pay around 600 EUR without anything else. Also I get it sim unlocked from Globul, so I think this is quite a bargain for Bulgaria, but I have to agree that Bulgarian mobile operators are pathetic.
xD I got it for a 24 Month contract without any simlock
8€(x24) a month + 225€ for the phone.
Thanks for this! Just submitted a request!

First i got this reply a couple of days ago:
Hi,
Thank you for your email.
We have been informed by the manufacturer that the IMEI you have
provided is not showing on there database. This could be down to one of
two reasons:-
a). The IMEI number you have provided is incorrect (this can be obtained
by typing *#06# into the handset.
b). The IMEI number you have provided does not belong to a RIM device.
Kind Regards
Justin Peter
...................................................
Then i sent this reply:
Hi, thanks for the reply. Regarding the below problem with my unlock request, I have rechecked my IMEI and it is the same as the one I submitted and as for 'point b' stating that it must not be a RIM device, nowhere on the form did I enter that it was a RIM device. My handset is made by HTC and the model is a HD2 as was submitted on the form. Please advise of any other problems.
Thanks,
....................................................
Then i receive this today:
Good morning
Thanks for your email about unlatching your HTC phone. I understand from
your email that you've rechecked the IMEI number is it's the same. Also,
your handset isn't a RIM device. I appreciate you're using a HTC phone.
I'll certainly check this for you.
unfortunately I'm unable to comment if you can get your HTC phone
unlatched from us. To discuss this case further, please call our
customer service team on 0870 600 3009, free from your O2 mobile
between:
- Monday to Saturday 8am and 9pm

Whats going on? Anyone managed to get their code yet off O2? I think i might re-submit my info and try again.
I got my unlatch code and it worked with no problems, now I have an unbranded unlocked HD2
o2 have had that unlock page for some time. I've read several threads (and has also been what happened to me) that many peopled don't get the code after the first 28 days, and you have to phone them and they'll say "oh it didn't submit right"
the guy I spoke to even opened with "you know there may be a charge?"
so yes they will unlock it, but you might have to hassle them a bit!
mine came pre-unlocked - might be lock of the draw (teehee, get it?)- check sims before you go through the hassle.
used my t-mobile sim right up until the numbers switched over.

Same here. Recieved unlatch code 23 days after requesting. Worked with no problems.
yep, after 45 days and two emails I finally got mine code from O2- free.
Oh happy days
The phone is locked to T-Mobile and obviously i need a subsidy pin. I requested one from T-Mobile it came within 12 hours. BUT this was for the first phone i had from them's IMEI. Obviously this one won't work for the phone. I have since requested another for the updated IMEI. And after 3 days its still stuck in there admin department.
What im asking is.
Shall i wait until the code is redeemed from T-Mobile as its the safest option. The buyer hasn't paid yet and has already waited long enough to get it.
Or are there any RELIABLE unlock sources that sell the Subsidy pins that will be a guaranteed fix and will be unlocked forever? Or are there any other ways to unlock the phone for any network?
-This should be allowed as it's not to do with warez. Apologies if its not-

Will the service be affected eby the fact T-Mobile are 'enquiring' about an unlock code to HTC? I have read the T-Mobile UK handsets have a trouble with Unlock codes from sites. Read this while doing a search on the forums.
I would say no problem as unlocked a Desire HD on T-Mobile UK end of last year no problem.
They have access to all main provider databases & manufacturer databases too as my code was supplied from HTC ...
An alternative - Can get them off ebay pretty cheap <$5 - I've used them and worked fine and pretty fast
Used eBay before & had problems, 2 codes did not work & getting refund was a pain & codes that did work did not unlock to all networks.
eBay is full of big promises & small on quality goods/services ...

Really, Was there any need for this? And after all the Googling i did, Ebay seemed to come up the rear end concerning codes.
The site he gave, was Prompt and had the code within 5 hours. Even on a sunday. When its taken t mobile around 4 days or so. I think you should take yourself away from this thread. Thanks for the posts and Mods please lock this as its solved.

Connection: Happy Customer
eBay: used eBay as price & feedback looked good, we need to unlock about 8>10 handsets monthly so savings via eBay looked good. Reality was different with some wrong codes supplied or emailing us to pay more as codes in newer data base ect ect & unlocked devices not working on all networks.
Up to you who you use at the end of the day, but some will find such reviews from long term members useful ...

I have now used UnlockFusion a few times for myself and my friends - we have found them reliable and cheap (the latest was under US$3) and quick - usually within an hour or two depending on the time of day (one recently was just a few minutes).
I have absolutely no affiliation with them and live in Australia, but it pays to let others know of a great service.
But as always, check the feedback just in case things go bad and their services declines

Confirming this is good for this community, I'm neither affiliate with them, but used their service maybe 10 times and they are OK (price+service+response time): I'll never hesitate to use their service again if needed.:highfive:
Hi All
I bought this i9505 a couple of years back and have been using on EE network (UK) - the handset is locked to EE and I would now like to unlock to use on O2 (UK). In order to get EE to unlock it - they insist on charging the owner on their next monthly bill for the service. I am no longer in touch with the original owner... so does anyone have any ideas how I can unlock this?
I have tried the posts which show to unlock in service mode - but this doesnt work (at least not for me!).
Does anyone know of any company that can unlock via IMEI or other service?
Thanks in advance.

Do a search for "Triangle Away" in both the SIM unlocking thread and the forums in general. Should be plenty of information in both places to assist you.
Us lucky S4 owners and our ability to unlock the phone without paying for it.
On a serious note, he may have to pay up if the SIM unlock method we use here doesn't work.

Thanks Andrew - are you in the UK? If so please do let me know which service you used as the couple I have tried take the IMEI number then route you through to lots of phishing websites wanting you to complete surveys etc... if you know a service that is safe in UK then I really dont mind paying (a little )
If you go to sammobile.com, they have an unlock service there you can use. Cost I believe is around the 20USD mark (13.30GBP) for the most basic option, though they do have quicker options that cost more.
