Slider and background help - HD2 General

Hi all,
I managed to set up a new HD background that I am very happy with. However I was also wanting to make the slider background either disappera or lighter. Lighter would be my preference instead of the current black. Also I would like to have my custom background for when I press the start button too, but instead it is the usual stock black background. All help is greatly appreciated

Have found a glass slider, all I need is the same background for the start menu

When you set the lock screen background it will also become your start menu background. Slide to the settings tap and go to "personalisation" (is it called that? I have a german ROM installed). It should be the first option in settings...

'Whitewashed' Background Pictures on the Today screen

I find that when I 'Use this picture as a background' (WM6, Dopod D810) the image appears but it's always 'whitewashed'. By that, I mean it's faded to white - I'd prefer to see the photo in it's full colour with no faded look.
I'm certain that in the early days of WM5 this used to work fine?
Any ideas would be appreciated
use picture & video viewer to find the picture you want to use as your background. tap and hold for the context menu and select "Set as Today Background..." a screen will appear where you can select transparency. set it to 0% and you should be in business!!
Thanks cortezzi, I'll give it a go.
Any idea of XnView Pocket does it? I can't seem to find a 'set as wallpaper' option.
*can't find it*
Also tried out a trial version of Resco Photo Viewer and although it allows me to Save > Use as Home Screen then set the viewable image area and transparency (which I set to 0), however the new wallpaper never appears despite receiving the message 'Picture was correctly set as Today wallpaper'.
Settings > Today shows the background picture is currently set to 'Custom Wallpaper'
Is there a registry hack I can do to stop the default Today settings from adding transparency to new background images?
I had the same problem.. In my case it was caused by the theme I had installed. Try a different theme or modify the one you use.
as helpful as ever....thanks blitzwurst
i tried using a plain colour theme with spb menu but any custom today backgrounds i choose still come out with transparency. how exactly do you suggest i do this? i'm certain that it used to work fine (no transparency) under WM5....
i'm just eager to make use of the great backgrounds another xda user suggested on the Slide2Unlock topic (I think) at http://www.zuned.be !
That Zune site is pretty nice!
In my case I had to get a theme (.tsk) editor and embed the background I wanted into the Theme as opposed to selecting an image from the device to use as a background.
no worries, i might do the same...any recc's on a good theme editor to use?
does it run on the device or on a pc?

change BG image without TF3D?

Hi there...
I just got mine and first thing I wanted to change was the background image.
1) disabled TouchFlo3D in settings->home>elements
2) tried to set background image
my problem: The background image appears very bright almost white, so i cant really see it and because it is so white i almost cant read any words...
Is anyone else experiencing this behavior?
Any suggestions?
Thanks
AO
This is one of those things that really bugged me when I first started using Windows Mobile. If you choose your Today screen background by going to "Today" in "Settings", the transparency is set at 50% or 60% by default.
Open the "Pictures & Videos" app. Select the image you want to use. Tap menu, tap "Set as Today Background...". Here you can set the transparency to 0% and tap ok.
Btw, I wonder why there's a transparency setting in the first place. Are there items that can appear beneath the wallpaper?
Yeah I had this problem a long time ago on my MDA do what he said and you should have a nice dark background in no time.

Energy.BLACKSTONE.21892.Sense2.5.23.Feb.2010

Hi, All
Energy.BLACKSTONE.21892.Sense2.5.23.Feb.2010
I have the above rom and was wondering how I can customise the taskbars i.e. colour etc & were is the settings as I can't find them.
Thanks
JAW$
I currently use Max TF3D Theme Maker v4.1 to customise the appearance of my Home Screen and other screens (even where both the Taskbar and Soft Keybar reside to make them Transparent).
You can download and install the cab (install it to your sd card) for it here.
You first need to set a Background wallpaper first as it will not work properly with just the default background, normally you actually need to set a new background first.
Now, to set the Task bar and Soft KeyBar to transparent using Max TTM, open up Max TTM, go to the WM6.5 tab and under the Component Heading, make sure it is set as Both. Then only select the two bottom checkboxes (Enable Standard Deployment and Soft Reset after Convert), then click the Convert button to enforce the changes.
Hope this helps.

Background Wallpaper.

Hi,
I'm currently having an issue trying to change the background wallpaper on htc sense.
My problem is not the home screen wallpaper choosen by user but the fact that it shows the same wallpaper all along the tabs. such as in sms or settings etc etc... and its hard to read an sms or text with the wallpaper behind. I'd like to have it black like most roms have them and only the home screen using the wallpaper.
I'm currently using the latest energy rom (14apr.2010wwe)
Thank-you in advance for all help handed!
That is a feature of Background for all tabs.
You can try setting to default in Settings Tab\Personalize, select Home Wallpaper and when asked if you want to set to default choose yes.
Otherwise you'll just have to select a dark wallpaper.
You should also ask this in the ROM thread as there may be others with similar concerns.

Brigtness on Start Menu background problem

Hello! I am having a problem with the brightness of my Start Menu background. I am using the same background as on my today screen, and on the today screen its much brighter than on my Start Menu screen. Can anyone help me? =)
This is because of a transparent layer which lies over the background picture. It is supposed to make your icons better readable. Dont think that there is an easy workaround for this....
