Calling via BT headset when XDA2 in cradle, Activesync on?

Having scoured the forums with repeated searches, I have to admit defeat and turn to the gurus.
I work from home and leave my XDA2 in its cradle and Activesynced via USB. That way, I can keep it synced with MS Outlook, back it up on the fly and send SMS via Jeyo or Pocket Controller. Also, when I go out on appointments, it's always fully charged.
The one problem is, whenever someone calls, I have to disconnect it from the cradle to answer it. I can use the speakerphone, but that doesn't always work too well - sometimes my caller can hear me clearly, other times they complain that I'm too faint or that there's deafening feedback on the line.
I want to answer calls via my BT headset, but it just ain't possible. Even though BT is enabled, whenever I answer the call is routed via the speaker - the headset doesn't activate.
Could anyone confirm whether this is possible, please, and, if so, how to enact it? Thanks in advance...

Bluetooth headset disconnect during call waiting?!?

My Vibrant has been disconnecting the motorola h710 whenever another call comes in while I'm on the line. I have to then use the phone itself to answer and then click headset on the device before it routes the call back to the headset. Another annoying issue is that it doesn't give an audible warning before it does this.
I'm wondering if this a normal operation of the phone? If it is, I may have to bring it back. Using bluetooth happens to be a big part of my phone usage.
I currently don't have access to another bluetooth to test but its proven to work fine on my 3GS and the Mytouch 3g.
Thanks

[Q] Connecting phone to tablet?

Is it possible to connect an android phone to the tablet through Bluetooth, WiFi or even usb and make and receive calls and sms through the tablet?
tried searching, but all i can find is how to use the phone's internet connection, but cant find any information on how to connect to the cell phone part for calls and sms.
you can use a app called textab ..or sms sync ..
for sms phone calls .. only thing i know of is like google voice or like skype.
Will those work with the iphone as well? I'd love to have texts pushed to my tablet.

There is an app in the market called AirDroid that will allow you to text through your tablet. It will connect to your phone via wifi using a web browser, I am using Skyfire. I am not sure if you can make phone calls, but you can transfer music and photos. Hope this helps.

Airdroid is a very nice and useful app. thanks for that.
unfortunately, no phone function though.
years ago, i had an old "dumb" phone that i connected to the computer with bluetooth and was able to make and receive calls from it.
wonder why it is not available with the so called "smart" phones.
even to just be able to use the tablet as a hands-free device to answer calls would be useful to me. i can do it when the phone is connected to the computer with bluetooth. but when i try to connect the phone to the tablet, nothing happens. it tells me that it is paired but not connected and no other options are available on either the tablet or the phone.
They have a program called tablet talk on the market. You can make and receive txt true the tablet and see incoming phone calls on the tablet from the phone thru Bluetooth or wifi
If your on sprint, you can just integrate your cell number into google voice, with groove ip I can make calls and SMS from gvoice app

It's a very interesting concept. It's something that I would be interested as well.
Tablet Talk and Texttab allow to send and receive SMS when connected to the phone by BT.
Tablet Talk works with most tablets with a Wi-Fi connection but not with the iconia a100/500
For phone calls, there is still another problem with the a500 : it's the low volume of the microphone, anyway...
Google voice plus goove IP... your welcome.
Thanks, but I already have a voip service.
not what i am looking for.
like to have a direct access to the cellphone part from my tablet. or at the very least, use the tablet as a handsfree device.
but i guess it is asking too much and it is not possible or there would have been something on market to do that by now.
oh well...
Use phone with tablet
Hi,
I'm interested in this aswel ...
Primarily the idea is that say I have a Samsung Note, which is a bit big to hold up to your head to make a call, to be able to connect a phone to the Note and make/receive calls using the phone but through the Note. A bit like a bluetooth headset, but using a phone.
Before anyone says it, I have a B'Tooth headset, but I hate them - I don't want to look like a cab driver 8)
Cheers,
Stu
I use TexTab. I love it. It allows me to create new texts, respond to ones that come in, and even displays alerts for incoming calls. I can leave my phone charging in one room of my house while I use my Iconia in another room to text through my phone.
Bluetooth only
Here is the thing. I installed an android tablet in my car, and now i am trying to sync it to my phone in regard to phone calls and sms. I know google voice can do that but i am not planning on putting internet connection on the tablet since it will almost always be in the car. My old TomTom had a bluetooth sync with my phone and could receive phone calls from it .. is there any possible way i can do that and sync my tablet with my phone via bluetooth ???

You posted in very old thread. As an answer to you Bluetooth mic support is not available with the a500 in either direction, so it will not do as you want
MighyText
I use mightytext. Its simple.and does not need to be connected either by bluetooth nor wifi. Works like.. charm. Just download it.on both your android devices. Very simple

KingWear KW18 question on answering phone calls

Hello I received my KW18 and it is working but I have a question about answering phone calls when watch is connected via Bluetooth to my phone (Samsung S8). It appears no matter if I answer the call via the phone or the watch the audio always goes to the watch. At times I want to be able to answer the call via the phone and speak/hear via the phone so it is not a speaker phone mode (as KW18 does). Is there a way to control what device answers the phone call?
IE if I can easily reach for my phone I want to answer it on the phone and not be in speaker mode.
Thank You ~ Phil
Bump, anyone experience this that you can only answer a phone call on the watch when its linked via Bluetooth? its highly annoying...
Thanks
Phil
I'm having the same problem also, is there any way to use bluetooth headset for call instead the watch speaker

S10+ and Ford Sync v1 - phantom calls

I have a Ford Fiesta (2014 model, with Ford Sync 1; looks like this) and have had previous phones connected to this system with no issues previously. In fact the last phone connected before my S10+ was an S9+ and it worked great.
But... since I got the S10+ and connected it, I am having a weird issue with phantom calls. Specifically, when I get in the car, start the engine and the phone then finishes connecting over Bluetooth to the car it will make a phone call. However, the phone call is to "Unknown Number" and is completely silent. There is no ring tone, no answer on the other end, and the call does not show up in my Recent Calls screen in the dialler.
I have other Bluetooth devices connected/paired such as a smart watch, speakers and headphones, but the phone does not make this odd call when they connect - only when my car connects.
Appreciate this is a very specific problem with only my phone and the particular variant of Ford Sync I have in my car affected (and even then, only in my car!) but does anyone have any idea what might be going on here or how to stop it?
Thanks

I have the newer sync so I'm not sure but does Sync 1 have the system diagnostic that calls back to Ford? It almost sounds like that because when it called you didn't hear anything or see a number. Although I don't know why it would start with the S10. I guess you completely removed the phone from Sync and repaired it. This might be a good question for one of those Ford Owner Forums if you don't get anything here. I'll be pairing my S10 to my Sync 2 today or tomorrow so I hope I won't run into this.

It has an Emergency Caller function (i.e. if the system detects a crash/sudden impact it will call the emergency services) but I don't think this is what is happening here. I'm usually sitting still when this happens (start engine, systems come online and phone connects, while it's doing that I put my seatbelt on) and the call is completely silent - I thought my radio had lost signal the first few times I did it and then spotted the outgoing call to "Unknown Number" on the Sync screen.
