my himalaya show "no gsm" on boot screen,
I can flash CE rom, but can not flash radio,
when flash radio , prompt "Error 114: Radio Rom Update error".
on bootloader screen,
working himalaya should show
1. "Radio version";
2. "protocal version";
3. "rom version"
mine show
1. blank;(this line disapearred)
2. "no gsm";
3. "rom version"
have done hard reset and switch between several roms, no use.
My bootloader is 1.03.
Please help me,
my himalaya can only running as PPC now, lost all wireless function.

So I want to Upgrade Bootloader, I download pnewbootloader and boot106.nB0 from this page:
http://buzzdev.net/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=21036
After I run
-=-==-=-=--=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
pnewbootloader -f boot106.nB0
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
I got:
"Do not run this tool unless :\n"
" - you want to downgrade your 5.17 bootloader to 5.15\n"
" - you have somehow managed to overwrite your bootloader and still\n"
" have a working ( ce bootable ) device, and still have the operating\n"
" system running\n"
"\n"
"If the above does not apply to you, press NO\n",
It seems that this pnewbootloader is wrote for xda1/wallaby, not for xda2/himalaya, since wallaby got bootloader version 5.15/5.17.
Anyway, I still click yes to continue.
-=-==-=-=-==-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
C:>pnewbootloader -f boot106.nb0
Copying C:itsutils.dll to WCE:windowsitsutils.dll
Unable to find flash info offset, cannot disable bootloader writeprotect
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-==-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
It seems nothing happened,my himalaya is still running in windows.
I download the latest itsutilsbin-20090515,
extract pnewbootloader.exe and itsutils.dll to overwrite the previous one from http://buzzdev.net/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=21036.
The cursur of cmd line keep flicking and nothing happened.
my himalaya is still running in windows. Will it become brick after reset?
Thank you very much

do you mean the radio rom and ce rom are combined in 1 *.nBf file?
I have the official 1.72 wwe rom:
xda_ii_172181_final.exe,
The extracted files contain ms_.nbf, nk.nbf, Radio_.nbf,
The HimaUpgradeUt.exe try to upgrades the radio while upgrading the rom,
however, it prompt the same error "Error 114: Radio Rom Update error".
I check the RUULog.log,
It actually flash the 3 roms 1 by 1,
success in flash ms_.nbf, nk.nbf, but failed in flash the last Radio_.nbf.
Do you actually suggest 'merge' nk.nbf and Radio_.nbf into 1 *.nbf file to flash?
Thanks a lot!

try this rom!
C_ShekharWM5AKU3.5c.R40.P24_public
that upgrades rom and radio
two seperate nbf files nk.nbf and Radio_.nbf
Just run HimaUpgradeUt_noID.exe and it upgrades the rom then the radio
If you want that rom you said. Try flash this rom then flash your rom. It might change something and make the rom you want work.
Or it might be the rom you have is corrupt or damaged?

[Q&A][UPG]Syrius R0 stuck at 17% solved

Problem
When installing the Syrius R0 ROM, the flash process got stuck at 17%.
Then the device gave me a ERROR 262 communication error and said there is need of a recovery process. After recovery, it's impossible to flash any ROM, it will stay at 0%, because of a RUUNBH error.
Solution
1°
First, you need to get the RUUNBH error solved. A simple method to do this is downloading this file and running the Romupdateutility.exe file in the RUU folder.
This will give an error, but don't worry. After doing so, you can boot your device.
2°
Then, if you want to install the Syrius R0 ROM, do what is mentioned under the 'How to install HARD-SPL!' section in this link.
Then:
STEP MANUALLY to bootloader. (Press and hold camera button and press reset)
You will see a tricolor screen on you PDA, and you have to see SPL-2.20.Olinex string. IF YOU NOT SEE THIS DO NOT TRY TO FLASH ROM!!!
Then execute the exe file that was in the Syrius R0 ROM that you downloaded and the process will surpass the 17% and the ROM will be fully installed.
I have inherited the Title "Noonski The Merciless"
Please Post to a thread already open with your issue,
For instance the rom thread you downloaded from or maybe the HARDSPL thread.
And in your case with a solution, this would belong in the WIKI.
Cheerz,

titan locked in bootloader

was trying to do a maint upgrade w/oem rom, errored out now will not come
out of bootload screen tried to load rom from flash but dont have proper
ruu file i guess said loading but thats all have oem bootlaoder spl-2.07

thanks a million,worked like a charm

upgrading to new radio without fastboot?

my phone is an htc magic 32A, i am currently on old radio and spl and amon_ra recovery for sapphire.
my usb connection has been dead for a while now, but i can still charge my phone. i use terminal for most things and root explorer so no need for adb or fastboot as much. but anyways, is there a way to flash the new radio (6.35), spl, and recovery without fastboot?
what i know:
1. i can flash new radio & spl through update.zip files through recovery, i've done it before with old radio and spl many times fine.
2. i can flash new recovery using terminal with phone on, this is fine i do many times too.
however, this is the problem, correct me if i'm wrong, you have to flash all 3 at same time right? in recovery mode, i can only flash radio and spl no recovery, but in terminal i can only flash recovery, not the other two.
is there a way around this that i dont know about? is fastbooting the only way?
I tried flashing the new recovery first and then booting into it to flash radio and spl but that dont work hehe. i dont think i can flash new radio and spl first using the current recovery image since cursor said in his thread if you flash radio and spl, the phone will keep rebooting because of the wrong recovery. since i cannot fastboot, this will pretty much kill my phone since i wont be able to boot it up to flash proper recovery image.
-------------------EDIT
cursordroid is helping me with this problem. for those interested check out his how-to guide in the dev section as that's where he posted a reply to me. hopefully his solution works, will see tomorrow.
Hi,
I've read a bit and i would like to share my understanding with you. Correct me if i'm wrong:
- The SPL is the boot code that allow the usage of fastboot commands and is there to actually boot the rom stored on the phone. As long as you have a correct SPL, you should be able to push a recovery-RA image trough USB into memory and boot with this code.
- The recovery image on the phone is a specific partition that is trigerred when you use the volume down and poweron button. I've got the impression that the vol-down and poweron instructs the spl to use the recovery partition. I'm not sure of this
If you are able to flash the recovery image (the Hero one) via terminal then from the pc using the command : fastboot boot recovery-RA-saphire-v1.5.2h, you shoudl normally get access to sdcard and flash the update_radio.zip then update_spl.zip.
I'm not sure of one thing: Does updating radio and updating spl should happen at the same time ? Can we do this by flash first the radio, reboot, fastboot boot then flash the spl ? As there is a reboot in between, wHat happens if the radio is newer than the spl ? Do we still have access to the fastoot mode ?
About your statement: "if you flash radio and spl, the phone will keep rebooting because of the wrong recovery." --> Where have you seen this ?
Cedric
Thanks but I Know about fastbooting and do it often but The problem is I cannot use usb fastboot anymore. Theres something wrong with my devices usb port. Please read the thread title and my post once more. If i can use my usb then fast boot is easy, I wouldn't have made this thread haha.
About the last statement it can be found in cursordroids thread about upgrading the radio.

Pre-Rooted HTC, flashed new custom recovery. Cannot boot into.

Hi Guys,
A while ago I used the flashrec app to flash a custom recovery on my unlocked hero which worked well. I'd been using this for ages to flash custom rooted roms etc onto my device.
Today I decided to update the recovery rom to recovery-ra-hero-v1.6.2.img by terminal emulator. (su, flash_image recovery /sdcard/recovery-ra-hero-v1.6.2.img). This didn't work! When I try and enter recovery mode (hold down HOME whilst booting), it freezes.
I can still get into my rooted rom, and it still appears via adb, but I cannot flash any custom recoveries! When I try to flash via adb I get the wonderful 'downloading 'boot.img'... FAILED (remote: not allow)' error.
Any idea how I can flash the recovery?
Cheers,
Matt
Have you tried using Flashrec again?

5. Download this APK and recovery image and save it to your computer:
http://zenthought.org/content/project/flashrec - FlashRec.apk
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=561124 - Amon_Ra’s Hero Recovery Image
6. Copy them both to your SD card (do NOT put them inside any folders on the SD card, just put them on the SD card itself).
7. Unplug the phone from the computer once they are downloaded to the SD card.
8. Go to the Market and download ASTRO File Manager or any file manager program if you do not already have one.
9. Open the file manager and find the FlashRec apk file and click it and choose open app manager and then install it.
10. When it is installed click Open. Click on Backup Recovery Image and wait for it to finish. If you get "backup failed" response see the text on the right for more details, if the backup is a success carry on to step 11.
a. Installing the correct HTC ROM
Orange UK Users - Please downgrade your ROM version to 2.73.61.5
Generic Hero Users - Please downgrade to 2.73.405.5, or follow the goldcard method if this doesn't work
T-Mobile UK Users – Please follow the "Goldcard" method below
All Other Users - Please follow the "Goldcard" method below
11. Once done, click on the empty text box in the FlashRec program and type:
/sdcard/recovery-RA-hero-v1.6.2.img
(replace exact name as new versions come out)
Then click on the Flash Recovery Image button and wait for it to finish.
Click to collapse
I have yes, forgot to say in OP - sorry! It gives the generic 'flashing failed' message.
I think I've narrowed it down to my running hboot 1.76.0007. Am I right in thinking this version doesn't allow non-htc images to be booted?
I wouldn't know about the hboot stuff sorry...
... But I did once read that an older version of Flashrec worked where the latest did not,... worth a try?
http://code.google.com/p/flashrec/downloads/detail?name=flashrec-1.1.2-20090909.apk
Same error - backup failed: could not run command.
I have a android backup which should include the previous recovery image. Is there any way of restoring that from a terminal in the rom or via adb?
I don't think a Nandroid backup covers the recovery... and I wouldn't know about restoring it through adb.
Only other things I can think of are,...
1... Find out how to update recovery through fastboot? ( I once looked into this but dint get v-far)
2... Run a HTC RUU .exe and start from scratch.
I'd go option 2 for ease, 1 if you want to educate yourself.
I think I've already tried number 1 - "fastboot flash recovery recovery-ra-hero-v1.6.2.img" and got an error: "remote does not allow".
Looks like I'm going to have to go down the RUU route. Hopefully I'll be able to restore a recent nandroid backup once it's complete!
Thanks for your help!

[Non NoDo ROM]HD7_Cingular_US_1.54.531.02_Radio_5.66.09.09a_22.4 6.50.21U, by ansar

Dear forum members,
In the following A, B, C and D sections is described the flashing process
of the NON NoDo unbranded ROM: RUU_Schubert_Cingular_US_1.54.531.02_Radio_5.66.09.09a_22.46.50.21U_Signed_by_ansar
It is suitable for chevronWP7 unlock and can be upgraded to 7008 and then to 7392 NoDo OS and keep unlocking
See my relevant thread: [Guide How To]Pass ChevronWP7 Unlocker from 7004 to 7392 NoDo via zune, by ansar
A. Pre-Requisites
If your HD 7 is flashed with a ROM of the following release:
1. RUU_Schubert_Cingular_US_3.03.502.02_Radio_5.66.09.09a_22.46.50.21U
then you can flash the following NON NoDo unbranded ROM and when you like you can comeback to your previous NoDo ROM
In case your HD 7 is flashed with a different of the above 1 ROM but your Firmware version at your phone settings>about>more information
is of the form xxxx.yy.zzzzz.502 i.e. with characteristic value 502
then you can also flash the following NON NoDo unbranded ROM, but you can comeback only to the above 1 ROM
B. Downloading
You must download the following 2 ROMs:
1. Download this zip ROM file: RUU_Schubert_Cingular_US_1.54.531.02_Radio_5.66.09.09a_22.46.50.21U_by_ansar
2. Download this zip ROM file: RUU_Schubert_Cingular_US_1.54.531.02_Radio_5.66.09.09a_22.46.50.21U_Signed_by_ansar
Extract the downloaded zip ROM files with an unzip / 7zip utility in separate folders of your choice
C. Flashing Process
In order to successfully flash the provided ROMs you must follow these steps:
1. Flash the ROM of the above (B.1.) extracted zip ROM file
2. After flashing HD 7 will automatically enter again in bootloader mode
3. In the screen of your computer the ROMUpdateUtility will report an ERROR[270]
4. Ignore it and exit from ROMUpdateUtility
5. Now flash the ROM of the above (B.2.) extracted zip ROM file
6. After flashing your HD 7 will boot normally
7. Exit from ROMUpdateUtility and proceed with your brand new ROM
If you do not want them you can delete all operator apps, in order to have more free RAM
Beware, in WP7 deleting an application means it is deleted from ROM
D. ROM Flashing Instructions
In order to flash a ROM follow these steps:
1. Press and hold power-on/off button to power-off the phone
2. Press and hold volume-down button and then press power-on/off button to enter bootloader mode
3. When your phone enters the tricolor screen bootloader mode, release volume-down button
4. Connect your phone to your windows 7/vista pc/laptop with a usb cable
5. Verify that your phone will be identified and relevant drivers will be installed by windows os of your pc/laptop
6. After completion of (D.5.) above, check the usb message connection on your phone screen
7. To flash the ROM go to your pc/laptop folder where the downloaded zip ROM file is extracted
8. Double click on the ROMUpdateUtility.exe file and strictly follow the instructions on your pc/laptop screen
Till next version enjoy!!!

Hi, i can't update... it stays on 0% and then it shows me Error 260 which is Comm Error... but the usb is fine, and i tried in the 3 usb ports of my pc... so, what could it be?? thanks.
 ERROR [260] : CONNECTION
This error occurs when there is an “open port error” before upgrading the CE ROM image.
Solution: You can reset the device and run RUU again. If you still encounter an “OPEN PORT ERROR” again, reset your computer and try again.
EDIT: Now it shows error 262...
 ERROR [262, 276, 284, 302] : UPDATE ERROR
This error occurs during the CE ROM code upgrade process.
Solution: If this happens, you can just soft-reset the device and run RUU again. The update process will then continue.
Note: At this stage, the Wince is destroyed; instead, it is in upgrade mode.
i upgraded it to 7392... does it have to do something with it??

Hi,
Do you start from tricolor screen in bootloader?
Regards, ansar
Thank you for this rom, great work!
For anyone wondering, if you have the HD7 S with AT&T, flash this rom, chevron unlock your phone, apply registry hack to keep phone unlocked, then update through zune to get back to NoDo
