Not for free of course, unless HTC gives you the code for free.The Dream cant be to new if it was released back in November 2008.
dunno if it works with all carriers, but T-mobile will give you the unlock code for free, you just gotta tell them that you're going overseas and you're gonna use it there.

I used cellunlock.net to unlock my canadian Virgin Legend, took 50mins to get my code, only CAD$20 (less than USD$20!)
I used crackb50 coupon code to bring it down to CAD$10
Edit: It looks like they only unlock canadian Virgin/Bell Legend and now charge $30 - 50% = CAD$15

I just received my new htc hd2 from amazon. the first thing I did after that, was ordering a remote unlock code. the first website that provides unlocking codes had refunded me because they could not find my code in their database.
I did not believe them.
So, I went to another website and also they could not unlock my hd2 and also had refunded me.
Now, How possibly can I unlock it????????

Can any one who has t-mobile nomber help me by calling them and giving them my imei to request an unlock code. I called them and they said that I have to be a current customer at t-mobile to provide me with it.

Just want to ask where you were able to purchase TMo version of HD2? Was it outside the Phils?
try this it worked for me , I found a 50% off promotion for an unlocking site - the originally-named cellunlock.net. Was happy enough paying $20USD for the code, given I was emailed it three hours after I submitted the order.

If you got a T-Mobile "US" version, put "T-Mobile US" in the title. The European T-Mobile phones are already unlocked or codes are available for ones that are locked. If you don't know what version of HD2 you have, check the ROM size. If it shows "1024" for ROM size, you have the T-Mobile US version. 512 of ROM and you have T-Mobile European version. All HD2's come stock with 512MB ROM and 448MB RAM. The US version is the black sheep in the family as it has more ROM and RAM out of the box.

WE @ XDA do not have any developers to make software to unlock HTC HD2 4 tmobile.
All of my past phone were from mpx220 to htc touch diamonud2 are unlock at free of cost with the help from XDA. but for HTC HD2 i cannot find any. is there any or any one working on it?

1-) Root the phone by unrevoked. Just go to their site, http://unrevoked.com. Just do a search on the forums for more info.
2-) create a goldcard. you can do it manually. Search for the manual way as there are many posts on that.
3-) Download a wwe rom for your wildfire.Link to wwe rom http://shipped-roms.com/shipped/Buzz...189_signed.exe.
4-) Turn off your phone. Power your phone while holding volume down and power button. This will get you to the bootloader. Pick fast usb and start the RUU on your computer and let it install the new rom on your phone.

Debranding is NOT the same as unlocking.
So, guys, as i see, there is no way to unlock wildfire, just by flashing it. I'm right?
Maybe there is some flash to comletly remove the locking state?! (network lock)

There is not any free way to unlock Wildfire. You have to get an unlocking code and put it into your phone.
Contact your carrier as they may offer free or cheap unlocking

Ni kod babe nema dzabe , if 30€ is too much for you (obviously it is) then go for 16$ on htcsimunlock web site. If PayPal doesn't work for you you have alternative ways of payment there: CREDIT CARD online now, CREDIT CARD by FAX, CREDIT CARD by PHONE, CHECK/CHEQUE with Proforma Invoice.
There is no public open way of doing unlock for free for HTC Widfire so far and you have two choices: keep it locked on current provider or pay for unlocking.
There is a free method for the Desire. Im saying there problably is a way to do it but noone has found it yet.

hi all, ive been lurking this site for ages, and thought this would be a good place to start my first thread.
basically, i bought a second hand htc hero that is locked to 3 UK. its running android 2.1update1. basically, i would like it unlocked and a bonus would be to put another rom on there. i dont see why i should pay £20 odd to get it unlocked if i can do it free.
any advice/tutorials on how to do it? bearing in mind its 3 UK? i didnt know if different unlocks work on different networks on this phone. im a noob with android, i have this and my hd7 (which i love, just wish it werent so restricted lol)
any help would be great, i know this device is getting on a bit but i still think its a great phone and would love to be able to use on o2 uk and tesco uk.
