HTC have yet again posted a hotfix for the HD2s SMS function, though this time, it appears to work!
Available only for ROMs 1.66 and below, it’s described in much the same way as the older “fixes”.
This update for HTC HD2 messaging lets you reach out to your friends and family with instant notifications. Keeping in touch has always been very important, and this update delivers just that: fast and reliable SMS messaging.
One tip before you install the hotfix is to clear your outbox, as all the queued messages there will be sent as soon as you send your first text (that actually works).

I'm using Lost in Asia's v0.6 rom with htc messaging (most leo roms now have it anyway). Whenever I reply an sms, halfway through, it jumps up a couple of messages and I have to scroll back down to the text input area. Is this just me, or is this a common bug with htc messaging?
I've just bought myself an HD2, so I'm kinda new with htc sense and wm6.5. Previously, I only use wm6.1 roms on my HTC Touch HD, and I always disable htc messaging.

I am having problems receiving sms on my HTC HD MINI. Sometimes sms comes through fine, but alot of the time they can come in hours late or not at all! I have tried a hard reset and taken my phone back to its original state, but still having the same problem. I have checked the HTC website for updates and all they have is one for ringtone quality. I got in contact with HTC and they suggested a hard rest, which I have tried already.
I have noticed my messages finally seem to come through once I send out another sms, make or receive a call, or turn off and on my handset.
Any ideas?

Try once more on htc downloading the updated rom . It is available now. For me worked just fine.

this update crashed my HD mini! I had to flash the ROM.
Have you tried the updated rom 30/06/2010? get it from htc and all would work as expected.

ok.......now this same thing was posted in the o2 uk site sometime back, but now it is on the indian site.........the official rom in india is 1.48 wwe.........and i had the earlier sms hotfix installed ...now wonder what this is going to do?

I wonder does anyone noticed that when reading sms on my legend. I could not see the latest sms on top. if you have more than 100 sms from one contact you have to scroll down in order to see the newest sms. Any solution for that issue. Please Help me!!
Everyone who updated the phone software recently is having this issue, very annoying...
I switched to handcent messaging... it is a very decent alternative and it shows the last message on top.
Extremely annoying.
I also installed handcent but when ı read the sms the notification remains on the bar.
realized that problem after reading this thread. the problem exist with the default SMS application.. I recently changed to Handcent and it isn't affected by that.. plus Handcent is pretty nice and all
@lifeis, have you disabled the notification option for your default SMS application? you have to do that to let Handcent "take over" the default one
I switched to Chomp. Waiting for 2.2 ........

SMS Threads
Anyone else having issues with the SMS threads? Me, and other people around the web have threads that now load from the oldest message (ie from the top) so i now have to scroll all the way down to see any new messages! I called HTC who said software devs are aware of the problem but haven't started working on it yet!! He also told me that 2.2 isn't a definite for the Legend!
everybody is having the same problems regarding the sms bug. try sending an email to htc to voice out your concern and hopefully they can do something asap or we might just get used to it.

I got this reply from HTC Taiwan:
"The official upgrade for Android 2.2 is not confirmed yet. Desire will release the upgrade earlier than Legend. As Europe already releases the 2.2 upgrade, Taiwan is expecting for its own release soon. However, the exact date for Legend is still not set."

SMS-Threaded-Issue Suggestions
I really like the look of the native SMS app that comes with the phone. However, it misplaces the threaded sms.
HTC support is as sh!tty as it is. I sent them bunch emails, their final answer is "sending in the phone for repair".
Anyways, around April - May 2010, I tried Handcent & ChompSMS. I chose Handcent. The app was good & all, then the updates, then now lots of force-closes. So I switched back to the native app & learned to live with it.
The problem of the native app is that it SLOWS tremendously, especially if you have so many conversations with so many people.
My final solution is the purchase of the Desire (giving the missy my Legend).
With the Desire's Eclair 2.1-update1, the native SMS app STILL suffers from the same problem of the Legend. However, the lag is zero. INSTANTANEOUSLY.. I was VERY CONTENT.
My Desire is recently updated to Froyo 2.2 & it fixes the threaded sms misplace. So, I'm EXTREMELY content now.
So, my recommendation is:
1. Try to live with the native app & wait for Froyo 2.2
2. Try Handcent & ChompSMS & pick your preference.
3. Get the Desire & you'll be as happy as a kid in the candy store.
