A mistake from Cootek.
It is version 3.5 when you look inside the program when keyboard pops up (click on Option tab, then "?" icon=>Check version info.

Nah, don't use this one, it makes my device run slow (I have an Axim at 600Mhz and with touchpal runs like 200MHz).
Better try FTPRO from www.fingertouchpro.com , it's fast , cool and has more options. For me it's the best software keyboard.
LOVE TOUCHPAL - but when i type "its" my Orbit soft resets !!!!!!
Have no problem using TouchPal on my Cruise, which runs on 400Mhz chipset.
The 'Its' bug has been fixed. Redownload the latest installation file from Cootek website.

is that so? did you download the official release? or something someone else posted? because I've been using TouchPal since version 2 and all the bugs have been ironed out. I have caught 3 of the bugs myself and they were fixed within 24hours.
TouchPal is my main sip, I use it at least once every 30mins while I'm awake. 3 times I've used it to write 5 page essays on my mobile. it's capable and fast once you get the hang of it. yes, there is a learning curve but it shouldn't take too long to get it.
to get the hang of it I'd say the best way is to open notes/word/textmaker or whichever is your favorite and type random words that comes to mind. it's the same layout as on a computer keyboard. so it shouldn't be too hard to understand where each key is located, plus you don't have to press the actual letters of the word you're trying to write, pressing the ones beside it will work just fine. its text prediction is really good, you can turn off the text prediction if you don't want it.
however, the text prediction is pretty good at saving typing the time it takes to type words.
eg: typing the word "circumstance", all I have to type is "circu" and it shows up in the word candidates.
lol, it's word association is good too, if it type word "nasty" it will show "masturbation" in the word candidates, lol. it sure saves me typing time when searching for these kind of videos in WVD lol.
get the file from www.CooTek.com and remember to select the download for the os you're using.

This looks pretty sweet. I will try it out in a few minutes.
Everything has been made a comfortable blue. This takes an extraordinary amount of time, since there are manila files, png files, bmp files and dll files that needed to be fixed. I think it is done-please give me some feedback if I have missed anything.
The cab is over 37mb so it is hosted on my web site. It is manila 2.5 2013.

The will lead you to page giving you the option to delete the link so any one can delete it which was happened with the CAB link so change the link immediately.

this looks great and would love to use this but have a few questions..I have tried Mighty (awesome ROM), I have used 7PPC (Dave Morley--very awesome) and now I am using Mr X's latest ROM..I wanted to know first how is this dialer reacting with Mighty ROM as I simply cant get this custom thing right when it comes to the dialer funtionality..I seem to get hung up trying to slide the dialer ( nearly an every day issue and when it occures I cant even answer the call)..I am guessing it could be my custom taskbar--tried to use the purian/tsowen one on the Mighty link as well the CDMA bilbo-mighty taskbar with not much luck as well..I really like the tasbar you have as well but not sure of the process (do you need sdk, nue battery etc or can you just download the cab?)--are you having any issues with this one? sorry for the long note..Your work looks great and figured I would ask..thanks again

I have no issues. And for the dialer I just flipped the pressed and normal dialers. It is a BMP file and just changed the names so that the black dialer is normal. If you want just the dialer I can cab that for you.

Would you consider an upgrade of your rom. It is easy and sense 2.5 has a lot more to offer.
But if you are sticking with the 2.1-I am sorry because I just deleted the cab I made for 2.1 when I finshed the 2.5 cab-just because it was hosted off XDA and taking up space.
I still have the 2.1 black dialer though. Install and soft reset.

You may be right. I guess the drive to be more iphone like motivates htc. But I like the weather on the home and the program links with finger scrolling. I gave up 2.1 a while ago but I can see why you might want to keep it.

Hey guys, got a couple of questions quick so any help would be great =)
I know you can set people's contact card pics as their facebook profile pic, i've done this for everyone successfully, just wondering if there is any way to make it auto-update (i have unlim data plan), or a way to update everyone on one click, the only way i can update them now is to go to each individual, open their online albumn, then edit the contact card, and let the new pic download, surely there's a faster way?
Also when i'm viewing a conversation between me and another person (in text messages in HTC Sense), it takes forever to load, and i can't type a message till all of them have loaded, and there's a 160+ for each person so they all load pretty slowly, surely there's a work around so i can type whilst it loads?

im no expert myself, im a newbie. but from experience you go on to htc website choose hd2 and all the updates are there. mynes on t-mobile to cant see that being a problem.

you will be able to download updates, but youwon't be able to download roms from the htc website, it will give you an error when you input your serial.
read through the forum, there are numerous threads about updating rom when you are provider locked.

i have already upgraded the ROM, my phone wasnt directly from t-mobile weather that makes a difference i dont no.

Ah, so if it is vendor unlocked then yes, you should be able to use the htc website. 1.66 i think is the latest.

this forum. (in brief - install hspl will let you install any rom, go hunt and do some reading, then when you understand what you are doing, go for it. )

When I'm downloading updates from HTC's website, it says select location closest to you, should I select europe 1 or 2 (I'm in london)

Also my HD2 keeps freezing now, it just slows right down for no reason, sometimes when it'd idle over night, after i've finished from a call, and sometimes out of the random, i keep having to soft-reset but now it's getting ridiculous

Only more than three alarms with 3rd party alarm software (cant recommend, i dont use more than three, sorry)
As for slowdown, first off disable the flip clock when you return to home page, (search for disable manila flip) secondly if wifi is on that can make it sluggish when you wake it from sleep as it reconnects.

if you use 3.9 on a non tmous phone, and use a lock code, it will change the password and force you to hard reset, so be aware!

3.9.10.10.5032 is the latest but as others have mentioned, some are lucky, many are not. There are many forums with people posting their problems, killing data connections, wifi, email settings, having to hard not soft reset as a solution etc.
Ive reverted back to using v2.0 from the omnia with Lesscro skin to make it look a little better. Sure the buttons are bit smaller but i believe its faster then 3.9 regardless of how you adjust speed vs accuracy. Also the hold button for the number feature actually works all the time unlike 3.9. All based on my own exp of course, there are many using 3.9 who prefer that.
I totally agree with rexboy, the version 2 with Lesscro's skin looks and works very well indeed.
Too many people are having problems with the 3.9.10.10.5032 version, it's not worth the hassle of installing.

So, what you are saing is that I if I cn find a cab of the SWYPE that was taken from the [email protected] it can be installed on the hd2? If so then I am going to search for it quick. This version that came with the Tmous HD2 bites. BTW, is there the weird overlap problem (at the bottom of the QWERTY board) that happend on non Omia2 phones?

Yep thats exactly what i am saying. This was the first swype that fits a WGVA phone extracted so it could run our HD2's. It did not have 100% of the features like advanced keyboard config (2 letters / key etc) but it works well.
The 3.9 is more tailored for our phones as its designed for the US Tmous phone but as mentioned, i just dont believe it works as well, try for yourself.
Cant post a link on here as most swype cab's and links have been removed as it rules prohibit a link to a cab version here but google will give you MANY hits to its direction.
Just make sure you install to the phone not storage and away you go.

Thanks for this. I've been installing the cabs to the SD card, and you're saying that this should be put to the phone's root directory? Where exactly should I save it? Ive been trying for hours on end trying different versions. It's either the trial one that won't work or the cab, and I put the cab on my phone, but couldn't figure out why there wasn't an executable or APK to flash.
Any additional info as to where to root this would be great.

I took the HTC_IME keyboard with voice input from the leaked myTouch Slide ROM and to my surprise it worked on the Eris. The only problem I've noticed is the user dictionary will crash when you try to open it. If someone would like to fix it that would be great.
While I think you're better off with jonasl's HTC_IME mod I think some people may prefer this.
Download HTC_IME-vi.zip (mirrors)
Download HTC_IME-vi-undo.zip (mirrors)
Copy HTC_IME-vi.zip to your sdcard and flash it as you would any other zip.
Flash HTC_IME-vi-undo.zip to get rid of this keyboard and go back to the default HTC_IME.
I don't know what will happen if you use this on a ported Hero or other custom ROM. I can tell you that it works on a plain rooted ROM.

That's the default message you see when you install a keyboard. You'll see the same thing if you try Swype. But don't install if you're not comfortable

I suppose in theory it could, but the one I posted is straight from an HTC ROM and the HTC_IME mod has the source available. If there was anything fishy in it someone would've spotted it by now. This is Swype.

It means you would flash it like any other zip through the recovery menu. This is only for rooted phones.
