Has anyone one thought of duplicating this program on Android? It would be a perfect addition. I know a few people looking for a decent airline logbook for their android device.
Anyone interested?
I would love something like this as well, though I'd prefer something oriented towards the military side. I have several friends who all have android phones. I think one that syncs with a google docs spreadsheet would be awesome.
I too would love to have this or a similar app.
Any word or update on this?

thanks to eken to show us this video.
My question is. If we would use our tytn, kaiser or some htc phone like touchpad iphone? exist an application similar to put in our winmobile?
the other question. if you see in the start of the video this guy have hacked or installed some usefull application in his wm/snapview side.
no one knows somethings about what he done on his shift?
Thx to all.
It's just an application called TouchPadPro (www.touchpadpro.com)
Nothing special about it all - IMHO it's just a gimmick, rather than anything truly productive.

Dave

gimmick? (what is)
i think can be usable, not essential but i'll try.
thnx
nothing about other software used by this chinese/korean/japanese guy?
I think somebody buying Shift just because it can be hacked. Something like iPhone's jailbreaking & unlocking
touchpad pro is only for iphone?
Yes! Touchpad Pro is the app. for iPhone.
I think WM program can also simulate it but there 's still not one out...
well we most know of the lightsaber app for the diamond right?
if not you can search for it here on the forum.
but anyway, i was watching some bruce lee style skit that was recorded on a cellphone and the both things clicked in my head and i thought up of the same concept as the light saber, where it uses the accelorometer to make the noises of punches and really quick movements! all bruce lee style, now that would be fun to use! im guessing one could use the same coding as the lightsaber just change sounds and interface to something like "Kung-fu-Fighter" for diamond or something.
well im just tossing out the idea, im no programer or coder so i really dont have any idea on how to do this, but the concept i think is great, just as much as the lightsaber app, i think alot of people would like this and want this. thanks in advance if anybody can come up with my idea.
oh and by the way, maybe it could have an option for switching between punch movements and just quick "swooshing" sounds for when your not pretending to hit anything but your moving your arms all crazy hahaha
I freaking love it!
yeeey a kung foooooo diamond..
love the idea
bump, i second that
that would be kickass!!
absolutely love the idea

i really like that
but let's just be real and stop dreaming
look how much ideas we have here in diamond section but no response from developers coz they all are busy developing new appz for iPhone to make the iPhone Owners like thier phones better and to make us feel sorry that we dont have that on our phones
i hate steve jobs with his brand-new (game boy).

ok ok, common, hey we all know that iphone has most of the developers ans such, and im surely jelous of it
but thats no reason to get all sad and negative about it.
thats why by giving ideas, we try to stay ahead of the iphone. atleast this could be one thing that the iphone doesnt have. and that would be one step ahead.
and common, dont hate. its as simple as people buy what they want, or what they need. simple as that, its like hating xbox just because they released halo 3 or something, its just doesnt make sense. we need to stop looking at the stuff we cant do and look at what we can or could do. simple as that.
besides, i was just giving a suggestion to what would be nice to have, thats all.
My brother have an iphone with two apps like this. One of them is called iFight: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B2SqPsy9ZPY and the other is called Sounds of Fury. It would be nice to see an app like this for the Diamond.
Does someone have the sounds for such an app? I've got the lightsaber source ;-)
I know people are more than likely getting bored of the I want this from the iPhone requests but this one I have played and I do love. It is a highly addictive game and really simple to play.
I have no coding ability though and wonder if anyone would like to try and take this on.

Much appreciated.
I agree. Simple but addictive and fun.
cant wait

me too. i cant wait for something similar to flight control
I would also love this game! wrote email to firemint(people who make iphone version) asking about a wm version, no reply as of yet!
Everyone will be able to create apps soon.
Forget the 1 Billion apple apps, Google will get a Gazillion!
http://appinventor.googlelabs.com/about/
I have 6 great ideas (I think) written down ready to go. LOL. Hope I get an email back soon.
I'll give it a try
now we get even more trash in the market.
How to try it??
I don't think the Market can really get any more trashed. At least these apps ought to be well-designed under the hood and won't FC all the time. I'm eager to see what non-devs come up with.
And if this does cause a further flood of "useless" apps into the Market, it'll spur Google to make it easier to filter the Market, I hope.
dont all of you be so quick to judge. I taught myself how to program code..but I still dont know how to program AND make the userinterface. This will be a great tool for me since now I will just have to drag and drop textboxes and butons instead of trying to figure out how to code them into the app. I'm sure I'm not the only one out there like this.
forget making my own app, where can I get that Hellopurr apk!
You have to sign up for the opportunity to get this in the future. You can't just go and download it right now.

Agreed, its painful to create the layout xml by hand. Eclipse and droid-draw help, but AppInventor looks a lot more advanced.
This looks amazing. I hope that we'll be able to edit the underlying java code... That would make a GREAT starting point for lesser coders like me, wanting to get the ball rolling fast on Android, or even with prototyping UIs.
I'd also like to take a crack at this, while my Java is improving I've got much more background in Visual Basic which this seems pretty similar too. Seems like a great learning tool, although I also worry about 10 million TEST.apk's hitting the market. Hopefully someone will get it soon and it will hit the torrents.

Its a web app. The only downloadable part of this is software that lets your android phone communicate with the browser, and thats already available from the website. You need a beta invite to use the actual "inventor"
Someone already got a mail from them?
IMO should have an "experimental" label on them until x amount of downloads and a minimum X amount of stars on them.
It will increase the total number of android apps yet wont flood the market with more garbage.
P.S 80% of apps are trash or repeats. Doesnt matter what the OS is. You dont have 50-200,000 apps and have most of them be quality.

Agree, it's not like Iphone has more useful apps than android...
But this app inventor will definitely encourage more dev to come to android, which is what google needs the most now.
Sent from my Nexus One
*crosses fingers*
I'd love to try this out and see what happens!
I really dislike this idea, The market already has enough sub par apps when compared to the Apple Appstore, yes the appstore has its fair share but cmon this will allow EVERYONE to submit an app of their own.
Yea the Market will have a "gazillion" apps, how many of those apps will be Great, not many

I don't know. Looks more like a gimmick than anything, not to mention that it's just another screen to provide power to.
As for the lockscreen, won't know till the ROM hits/leaks.
i kind of assumed as much. i just wondered if there was a theme or other modification that someone had built.
as for the phone, it just looks TOO big to me! (i know, thats what she said)
Glad to see just more and more great android phones coming out though. Restriction to select hardware hurt apple in the past - I assume all the options will get android nabbing more and more of the marketshare, and bring in more innovators/apps. Still waiting on an android worldphone, though....
