Hello,
i have a problem with applications running on my topaz.
They all run fine on Windows Mobile 6.1 (Pro),
but if i press the On/Off button on the top of the device to switch off the display or if it automatically switches off
the running applications only run in background minimized when turning the display on again.
they all run in background and i see the TF3D Interface in front.
Is it possible to switch off this "bug" with a registry key or do you know any solution for this problem..
Would be very nice if you help me with this problem.. wondering that appearantly nobody else had this problem before..
i used the search function of this forum .. and google.. cant find anything.. maybe searched the wrong keywords..
PS.: Sorry for my bad English.. Hope you could understand me xD
please help.. its a hard problem ..
?
so ... basically ... you want to automatically close all apps from background when the phone goes in stand-by mode?
As I understand it he's saying that when he presses the power button to go into standby, and then presses it again to put the screen back on, the unit is always back at the TF3D main screen, rather than on the app he was previously using. Mine certainly stays on the same app. I suspect it's something to do with the auto lock settings.
thank you for your answers
@ georgeono:
no i want to prevent them being minimized.. after the standby mode..
at first they all run in front of tf3d..
then.. -standby mode- is activated
[the screen is black]
i reactivate the phone..
-> all running applications run minimized (in background) behind TF3d and i have to choose them at first in the task manager to get them to front again..
but i want that they arent minimized when i reactivate the phone..
nobody has this problem too ?
please post a solution
Did you apply any tweaks? registry changes? or is this happening on a cooked rom? which applications did you install before this happend? I doubt this happened "on it's own"
no i dont use any tweaks ..
just the blank device with vodafone branding ..
i think its a windows mobile behaviour.. because i have the good old htc artemis with windows mobile 6 and it has the same problem too..
..
thanks for your answer
The same happens with 6.1 & 6.5 ROM's. It is normal behavior...
I hate it because it continues to use RAM, but it's "normal" WM behavior.
There is likely a registry edit to auto close programs, but that wouldn't help you.

normal behaviour? I don't get that on my Topaz (stock ROM 6.1 unbranded) - Returning from suspend the program I ran last is still in the foreground...
Ok, here's what I would check:
Download FDCSofts Taskmanager http://www.dotfred.net/TaskMgr.htm
Install and start, píck "notifications" from the drop down list on the upper right.
Check if one of the entries is a "CNT_EVENT" set to the event "The device woke up". If there is one try disabling it (don't delete yet!). Disable with the 6th button from the left on the lower bar of FDCSofts Taskmanager.
Do not mess around there! Disable at most, don't delete if you don't really know what you're doing.

I double checked again to make sure.... Still does it and always has.
I am using udK R6 now and it is the same.....
No biggie though. I always close everything down in task manager anyway.
Thank you for your answers .. its such a nice xda forum.. very good xD
To the problem.. :
i think its a windows mobile behaviour too.. but if so, it shouldn't be a problem ..
anybody knows the registry tweak to solve this problem ?
@andy_2307
I think i found the solution to the problem...
Just after i posted the same problem in another thread here on xda-developers, i got the idea to change on thing just for trying.
let me guess: you have a (numeric) device lock activated, so that you can lock your device with a "PIN" (separate from your SIM-card PIN)?
Even if you set the time to - let's say - 24 hours, so that the lock does not activate itself, but only when you lock your device manually by pressing the end-call-button for some seconds; this setting (having the numeric-lock activated) causes the issues.
I just deactivated the lock, so that long-pressing the end-call-button just locks the screen and does not force you to enter the device-PIN - and now the device won't go to the homescreen after waking up from standby.
This would explain why not everybody has experienced this - many people do not lock their devices with a separate PIN, and as such don't see this issue.
Only problem now is - for Security Reasons i want to have my device locked in a way, that someone else can not access it (even via activesync) if i lose my device or if it is stolen. without the default windows-mobile locking function, how is this achieveable?
annoyance A or annoyance B

Just tried messing around with this on my touch pro 2. Hitting the suspend button manually and then reactivating returns to the home screen.
Just found that if I set the "Prompt if device unused for" value to "0 Minutes" it stops returning to the home screen, but now I have to type the security code every time it suspends. I guess it depends on what you find more annoying.
It looks like, for me at least, if I am presented with a security input panel, it doesn't return to the home screen on resume. Seems related to the security lock feature, but not necessarily a bug with the lock itself.
hello all...i had a quick question regarding throttle lock...the reason im using it is as an alternative to s2u2 bc that is a battery hog on my tp2...i was wondering if anyone knows through experience whether or not throttlelock will consume less battery power...also, is there a way to get it to lock whenever u put the phone into "sleep" mode (pressing the top power button to shut off the screen)...thats really the only thing i want to use it for...for example, when i press the top power button and the screen goes off, how do i get throttlelock to be whats on the screen when i "wake" the phone back up...it seems to me that the only options are to have it activate once u restart (power off and on) the phone or by pressing the throttle lock icon...i would find it very more useful if u could use it like s2u2 (turn screen off and tada!!! theres throttlelock)...can anyone help???
try smartlock. It works with the 6.5 lock and adds the functionality of locking when the phone is powered down. Search for the cab and there are instructions on what box to check to get that functionality.
will smartlock work with 6.1?
I tried s2u2 and also found that it seemed to use more power (based on readings from Homescreen++). Using throttlelock doesn't seem to have much noticable increase at all.
As for getting it to lock when you turn the screen off and wake try the following ...
Go into settings > Lock > Change 'idle time before lock' to '1' then click ok to save settings. Then exit the config go back in and change this back to '0' and 'ok'/save.
It works on my xperia as your wanting ... e.g, turn off screen using button on top, turn on and I need to enter the sequence to activate. I can't find the thread that I read the above solution on at the moment but if your struggling I will see if i can find it.
Throttlelock seems to be ok for me. It does not take much RAM, and does not consume that much power. I do have the lock thing to 0, and throttle lock comes up whenever i turn the phone on.
I used to use smartlock, but for some reason it doesnt work on the build i have!

I realise this is probably a daft suggestion but you do have autolock switch in the config?
Are you using 0.7?
Heres a link to the Throttlelock website wiki explaining the functions.
Might be of some help.
I'm having some trouble with the incoming call feature but apart from that it seems pretty stable.
I've tried the other options but the pattern unlock does it for me

Do you mean the sim pinlock?
On mine the simlock asks for the password when i start up and i use throttlelock as a general screenlock.

it's the pin lock for the whole because i use exchange mail, it's a security pin that everytime the phone goes to sleep, i have to enter it in. i did find a fix for this, it's in the reg file.
i was wondering if the pro2 has a lock screen(connecting coordinates thing) like on the android phones?
yes there is, it called throttle lock, it's free so you can find it simply on the internet

or here

thank you very much
I tried it and it seemed to lock up my phone. I was using the keypad lock that came with the phone, and it wouldn't show the home screen after unlocking. Had to remove throttle lock using active sync anf then the remove programs app. Does anyone have any ideas how to correct?
solution
Use this lock it works flawlessly in tp2 and locks your phone after stand by

You cant use both the lock screen. You have disable WM and use Throttle, or use Throttle and disable WM.
Hey Ppl....
I've found a file called libphonelock.so under /system/lib/
Maybe if you remove it with the TB, that it remove X10i lock screen?
anyone as know it?

ZOMG. This is definitely a step in the right direction.
I'm going to contact the developer and find out if I can get the code to the lockscreen disable portion of the app. Would love to see if I (or someone with actual Android programming experience) could tweak that into something that disables the swipe lock but can keep the pattern lock enabled.
-edit-
Email sent, though BIP's developer is out of town this weekend. If anyone knows of any other apps that accomplish this, I'd be interested to know.
lock 2.0 disables it, as well as the app "no-lock".
problem is, even with the new version of battery indicator, every app ive tried the stock slider still manages to come back someway somehow , battery indicator seems to be the best solution so far, and im wondering if its lock 2.0 that somehow brings back the stock slider.

Hey have you ever been able to receive a response from the dev?
If you are seeking a "new" lock screen, or the "no slider" look.
I highly recommend Widget Locker.
It has a root bypass of the lock screen "5 second rule" which starts up the "old" lock screen.
I bought the app, used the root bypass option, and i havent seen my old lock screen yet.
They even have a keypress unlock, if you want a very simple lock screen, and you can hold your back button down for .5-2sec or so to unlock.
Though, I dont use the pattern lock, so i have no idea if it works in combination with this or not?
Edit: Disregard, I didn't realize the age of this thread D:
Sorry for resurrecting such an old thread. Funny thing is that I actually did start using WidgetLocker and I DO sometimes get the stock lock screen before it starts, so I was looking for a way to completely disable the stock lock. There are some apps out there that remove the stock lock but it causes every hardware button to wake the device up, which is no good. (This includes battery indicator as I just found out)
Yea, thats no good, it kinda defeats the purpose of having some sort of alternative lock screen when it wakes up on key press like that
I'm not sure why, but i have never got the lock screen to pop up again, unless i kill widgetlocker myself.
Well, if you indeed find out how to get rid of that lockscreen, i would love to know, it would be nice to not have a app constantly running pretending to be an alternate lockscreen, you know?
I am using the Extended Controls app from the market.
With it you can enable & disable just about everything the X10 uses (including the lock screen).
Basically I just want to use Tasker to turn on a PIN lock when I'm not connected to my home wifi. I've tried it multiple ways - using the keyguard on/off built into tasker, using the secure settings plugin, etc. I can't get it to work. Is there something I'm missing here? Does the Nexus 7 have problems with this function? Any tips would be appreciated, thanks!

It turns out that Android is no longer allowing applications to lock / unlock screen, this is a security feature (even Tasker has this info somewhere in the documentation). The way Tasker currently turns off the screen lock is by some messy work around. The closest I got to having this feature working on ICS and later on JB 4.1.1 was that it was working as expected most of the time, but whenever the screen lock was switched off by Tasker and I clicked on any notification in the notification bar, the screen would get locked and keep locking itself from then on. This is really annoying and makes this feature pretty messy and useless. So I finally resolved to setting the phone to lock automatically after a long period (eg. 30 mins), which is good enough when I'm at home. That way the chances are that if I forget to lock the phone and loose it, it will lock itself after 30 mins. I also created a shortcut on the screen (using Secure Settings plugin) to lock the phone manually whenever I remember about locking it. I doubt there is currently a better way of doing that.
