Hi all,
Really hoping someone knows the fix for this!
For no apparent reason the system clock on my Atom is not keeping time. I've had the device for three or four months and was fine until now. On Saturday morning I woke to find my Atom's clock was 15 minutes behind. Since then, I've been unable to get it to operate to time. I set it and it gradually falls behind again.
I've watched the clock in the settings menu and it appears to stall at random times. The seconds will count (for example)... 29, 30, 31, 32, 33, pause, 34, 35 and so on.
It will do this two or three times each minute, so over an hour I lose about three minutes. That's significant.
I tried a hard reset - didn't work. I updated to the latest ROM and that didn't fix it either. Everything else seems fine.
Because I tried hard resets and ROM upgrades I'm currently running my Atom with no third-party apps until it gets sorted - therefore it can't be anything to do with any program conflicts either.
Hopefully someone has a suggestion on something for me to try. I've only located one other Atom owner who experienced this and hopefully there are more of you out there with fixes!
Cheers.
to my mind, it's hardware problem
service center help you
More likely to be software
I suspect it is more likely to be caused by software ... system timer ticks ...
Have you installed any system type software eg. seems popular installing some anti-theft application that is hidden but keeps running in background even after a soft reset ?
Or some unofficial released ROMs ?
Try hardreset then flashing with official released latest ROM. After that use for awhile without installing additional apps and try to make minimal configurations and see if the clock still skips ... with each additional configuration / software, check to see if clock affected ... this will allow u to narrow down the cause.
If after flashing the clock still pauses then it is most likely hardware.
Hey friends,
i am using p3400 with windows 6.1 custom rom.
Recently i degraded from windows 6.5 to 6.1. I am not sure if this is the cause for my present trouble.
Now my phone's battery is misbehaving. My phone switches off with out any warning when i am talking or browsing or listening to music. The battery charge before these things happens are no where close to battery drain level. But when i try to restart the phone won't power up as if its battery is fully drained. Then i will have to connect my charger to switch on my phone.
If i have my charger connected when i am browsing , then i am not facing these issues.
If anyone have any information regarding this , plz do respond.
Thank you
regards,
Jerin George
Same here
same is happening with me.
am using 6.5
that's a problem of rom.
complain to cook. may be they has removed some necessary files !
Thanks for your reply.
I am using rom from the file "gene_wm61_wwe.rar"
I have used this for around 4 to 5 months before switching to "Ultimate V7 Old Gene Mega Manilla Version". I encountered nil error with the working of the device those days.
After using "Ultimate V7 Old Gene Mega Manilla Version" for around 3 months i though of switching back to my old rom version. After which i started observing these issues.
I have also seen one more problem. Whenever i restart my device , My clock setting are not saved.
I end up correcting my clock setting each time i restart. I think my backup battery too got some problems !!
regards,
Jerin
Hey guys,,
No one to point me out of my misery !!!!!.
Made one more observation.. I changed my rom again to confirm if its the problem caused by rom.
Even with the new rom i am facing this same problems.
These problems will make my phone "Less Mobile ". it always needs a chargers assistance to work !!
Few steps which i tried But no improvement
1. Soft reset
2. hard reset
3. Clear storage
4. Un checking today timeout
5. Disabling advanced network functions in USB to PC
6. disabling touch flow.
7. battery calibration.
8. Keeping battery disconnected from phone overnight.
If it was just a reduced back up time, then i could finalize it as battery problem. But with each reset the % battery remaining shown are random. Some times it reduces exponentially, some times it increases by 40-50%.
My present ron is "SumitsVanillaManilaUltimate_v3.1.1_OldGene"
regards,
Jerin
As you already done battery calibration, I guess you need test your device with another battery.

id rather suggest you to try something different.
1) charge your device to 100%
2) download my W.M.6.1 V.4.1 Pro series rom.And read the instructions in it throughly.
3) flash the rom and see your performance.
4) my W.M.6.5 Ultimate V7 you used included maximum of the HTC MEGA packages, that is the reason it was consuming more RAM.
5) My W.M.6.1 Pro series rom will provide you the best W.M 6.1 experience on GENE.
6) you wont be facing any switch off problems at all.
7) id suggest you to checkout your charger and battery too if you are facing frequent battery issues.
i hope this will help.
@ Ramersonw : Thank you for your reply. But i am the only one in my circle with this phone. So checking with another battery is not possible. Otherwise i will have to spend for a new battery just for the sake of testing this !!!
@ Karan : Thanks karan. i will try out this rom & let u know the results.

Jerin
Hey karan,
I tried ur Rom , Got to say.. Its very impressive. I loved it.
But still my phone continue to show all the problems mentioned above.

which method?
I'd like to know as well. I'm getting around 1 to 2 hours on heavy usage. Tried all tips & tricks I could find on xda, nothing has worked yet.
Sent from my King LEO using XDA Windows Phone 7 App
i've reflashed the radio, and disconnected fron the charge at 8:00 AM. the phone said that the remaining time was 2 hours. now it's 6:30 PM and the battery is at 30%, always with 2 hours remaining.
i have always 3G/H and push.
EDIT 8:44 : the battery now is down, after 12 hours ca
The only solution that worked for me amongst all the options (based on my experience)
1. Tried the camera trick - NOT WORKED
2. Followed the steps below - NOT WORKED
* Boot the phone to MAGLDR
* Select "Reset" option from the menu
* Phone reboots normally
3. Hard reset the phone - NOT WORKED
4. Charge the phone in magldr USB storage option - NOT WORKED
5. Finally, flashed the 2.12 radio, did the camera trick (not sure if its relevant). The battery life has improved dramatically. It lasts more than 24 hours and still running (26% left) - WORKED.
Follow the thread below to download the 2.12 radio

I had the same problem. To my knowledge, it is partially caused by gps. That's was my case. Switch off the location services. That worked for me. I got an improvement on battery life (15 hrs. with data on, wifi off and bt off) but not totally satisfactory as with previous WP7 versions or even with Android.
i am also having same prob guys... nothing is working other dan going back to 6.5

I have a few questions concerning my newly acquired Note 3.
1) The device came running with 4.3. Is it worth updating it to kitkat 4.4.2 or should I just stay on 4.3 and what are the benefits of updating? I still have a few days to exchange out my device if anything should happen so if its worth getting kitkat and it I encounter problems, no big deal.
2) What is the average on screen time for a non rooted device?
I am only getting close to 4 hours of on screen time although the device lasts about a full day. I've seen some reported times of 6 hours which is incredible. I've already put brightness to 50%, turned off many of the apps I don't use, and tweaked many settings for better battery life, but still only get 4 hours on screen time.
3) I get a notification titled "Preventative information" which goes on to state "an application has been forced to stop for an unauthorized attempt to access system in your device." After playing around with it I figured out it had something to do with the knox app. I turned that off and it resolved the constant notification. Is this ok to do?
I appreciate the responses in advance.

1) I got my device on Feb 2014 and it was a recent manufactured and came with stock Kitkat. So 1st I will advice to check the manufacturing date, these days Note 3 doesn’t comes with Jellybean anymore. I will advice definitely you should upgrade it to 4.4.2, updated version always better than previous one, increase stability and security and functional upgrades. However clearly don’t know about the difference between Jellybean and Kitkat but there is few new added features and visual changes.
If you can exchange with a more recent manufactured one which comes with stock Kitkat that is much much better. As many user after upgrading from 4.3 to 4.4 facing many issues.
If you don’t exchange and upgrade the same phone, after upgrade hard reset your phone from boot menu. Not from setting factory reset. (I didn’t do this as mine comes with stock kitkat but I read many user recommend this to avoid issues after upgrading.
Only drawback on Kitkat I found it doesn’t let non-stock apps to write data in external Sd card.
2) I never tested the constant screen time but 4 hours looks way too low. However in this phone the screen takes the most of the battery as its large. So I think it would give around 6hours on screen. Mine give one and half day for an average use after full charge.
Edit: you can set the brightness to 40% as mine is enough at this. Also better if you use auto brightness, but I found it very low at indoor.
3) sorry no idea, didn’t see this notification so far.

I just installed that app and tried what you said but can't get the serial number. There's no serial number behind the battery or on the box so I tried all the other numbers like HEX, DEC, IMEI but none work. However I did notice that after a message pops up that says invalid number, it says that the device is refurbished. Not sure if its correct or not because it then says my serial number is 000000000.

1- There should be the S/N on the back plate of the phone, under the battery. Please double check, or can you show (or PM me) the picture of the back of the phone (after removing the battery)?
2- Anyway you can skip the S/N check by pressing the Skip button.
3- If you still get the refurbished result by skipping the S/N check, you can post all screenshots from the app (or PM me) for more investigations.
I will tell you if your phone has any issue with the refurbishment.
After a lot of waiting and holding onto the reviews to find out if I am going to install the oreo update or not, finally I did the installation. The reviews of the people having tried were quite mixed and I never got any full review of the update from anyone so I thought to write it down for someone like me looking for such review.
The installation went well and smooth. I have a Korean version of LG v20 with f800 model. I installed the f80020e with security patch level of August 2018 and then I checked for further update and found that there is another update of around 650mb which then changed the software version to f80020f. I did the factory reset (hard reset with button combinations) to start fresh.
Now here are the things which I liked and which I didn’t like and then the things which I miss from android noughat.
Things I liked:
1. The whole UI is smooth now, with flattened everything. There is a good change in UI but not a major one from nougat. You might find some changes very interesting but there are just some color changes and nothing much.
2. The system settings menu is bit changed. Some settings locations have been changed. For example, the lock screen settings used to be under display tab but now moved under system security settings. I think LG felt that lock screen is not a part of display but rather security. Strange though.
3. Apart from settings menu changing and flattening of notifications panel, there is nothing else. Everything is pretty much same as that of android 7.
4. App permissions settings is now very well organized. I have a good look onto which sensor or permission is given to which app by default and which is necessary and which is not. For example, a text app has nothing to do with my location so I turned it off. Similarly, a phone app has nothing to do with camera. So, on and so forth. App permissions can be controlled very well.
5. Notifications panel now categorized the notifications into tabs. Though I didn’t feel it very useful. The reason is, I go into each app manually and customize the notifications by myself. This way I know which notifications will come and which will never show up. For example, I don’t like push notifications from Instagram because I don’t use it much so I have turned them off. This feature is useful for those who install the app and use it with their default settings and then their notifications panel is clogged and then oreo comes into action.
6. Navigation bar can now be hidden with the dot button in the extreme left. I really liked that.
Things which I didn’t like:
1. The first and the most important. Battery life is bit weird. The battery now drops more frequently than noughat. This thing is quite frustrating as I was extremely concerned about this by reading the reviews and was afraid of facing the battery life issues, which happened even though I did the factory restore and started fresh.
I have been noting the battery usage in the battery section and mostly it is the OS parts which are using battery more rather than apps.
2. The battery saver was always there from android lollipop onwards. I loved this feature that when the battery level hits 15%, it kicks in and status bar and navigation bar will go orange and battery saver is turned on. The transitions are turned off and this way I could survive for some time until I reach home and charge it. This feature is somehow changed now. The battery saver is there but it doesn’t kick in automatically at any lower levels. It is either ON or OFF. If it is ON, then it is working even when battery level is in upper limits and it will turn off every animation. So I have to turn it on manually when I see battery level going down. This is what I hated the most.
3. Another frustrating element is, LG’s screen ghosting feature is still there and I have installed the sfilter app which keeps it away by running over the screen. Now the oreo keeps pinching me that sfilter is running over other apps (which I know) but that notification popup is annoying. If I turn that notification off (by sliding to right or left on notification) it will turn off every such notification from other apps which are running on top. Android noughat was very simple.
I am not very happy with the update and might go back to noughat. But it depends. I am giving oreo sometime to calibrate the phone so that the battery drop can be calibrated and trying to adjust myself with it. Let’s see.

I confirm the above. Especially the battery saver behavior is strange. I hate this.
I also have a feeling that that when switching between different pages of settings menu the phone is slower than with Nougat.
