I have the Athena and I want to know the best way to watch bbc iplayer.
I used to watch it on my nokia 5800 which was brilliant.
You click the link and it uses the nokia video player.
How ever I can only currently run it through skyfire and its crap.
Looking for an alternate option.
I would like to stream them not have to download them all the time.
Hi,
I have been using THIS ONE, and it works very well on the athena,

Very much depends what you are into - personally I like di.fm It has a range of styles and bandwidths.
I was looking for video streams. music and sport and news would be good, I found some music ones at findvideos.com. just haven't found many more!
It's March Madness time and my company WebSense's our network and will have this blocked out. Is there a way to watch the games on our phones streaming the feed from the NCAA/CBS? They have a service for this in place, i just have no idea what I need to use for my Titan
possibly CBSsportsline.com and sign up for OnDemand (it's free), then use your Skyfire browser
would Opera be able to handle it?
does it allow imbedded video like Skyfire?
I watch the games on my phone with my slingbox.
I use my Slingbox as well.
You could also try MobiTV.
This is one of the times during the year when SlingBox shines. I find the Skyfire embedded flash-video to be quirky/flaky. IMHO.
Ah, March Madness. There was a great post about this on WMExperts, over here
I'm using MobiTV Right now (watching ESPN Mobile TV) with a mix of the the webpages. I want to check out the Zumobi offering for March Madness. However, Slingbox is probably by FAR the best option available. Too bad I don't have a Slingbox
The webiste from the NCAA requires Windows Media Player - but when I log in with Opera Mobile 8.65 - it tells me I'm missing the Windows Media Player plugin - and oddly directs me to where I can download the Firefox plugin....
I tried in PIE, and it just crshes on the site.....
Anyone try NetFront ?
(Wishes he had Skyfire or an Opera 9.5 beta...)
FWIW it is currently working pretty good using skyfire, although Ive had trouble getting into skyfire today. The video is somewhat laggy, but overall its pretty good. Not as good as my sling though.
I also tethered a bit and used my Asus EEE in combo with slingbox and it works GREAT!
Go Vols!
i use orb to watch live and recorded TV on my tilt.... i did it on my wizard with EDGE also....
you need a tv tuner card.... i 4
http://orb.com/
This is a no brainer Slingbox by far.. I mean you shouldn't even use Skyfire in the same sentence as Slingbox when it comes to watching TV.
Chalk another one for the slingbox. I'm using it on edge and as long as I got 3 or 4 bars I get a smooth pic.
grr, you dont need sling box, i watch live tv, recorded TV and anyother media on my home PC on my kaiser with ORB.
you can get a $40 tv tuner card and your done...

Hi,
Is there a youtube player like the one for Iphone or Touch Diamond, for the HTC Polaris?
Thanks,
Rey
There is a ripped version of the HTC YouTube app taken from the Diamond floating around, but I'm not sure how stable it is on QVGA devices. Instead, you may want to try VTap (www.vtap.com) or my personal favourite which is Kinoma Play (www.kinoma.com).
Kinoma Play is by far the best one I've used, and also supports Shout Cast streams, Orb, Live365, Flickr and others. Very good, and worth the asking price, although you can use it for free with a reduced feature set. The free version does a grand job with YouTube videos, so start with that and see how you go.
HTH.
Playing back videos that are stored on my sd card, as well as youtube videos, are not clear at all. They aren't even close to how clear they appear on my ipod touch. Is that because the file source resolution does not match the HD2's resolution? Even when videos are played in original resolution, they still are grainy and pixelated.
You will find all videos related stuff here, Simple search can do a trick
Has anyone seen a chart that would be similar to this one for the Sony Ericsson:

I'd like to set up the optimum settings in my SUPER conversion software. If you have setting in SUPER that you are using and really like, could you please share? Thanks.
For Youtube, if you're using the Youtube client you should set the quality to the best.
Use Core player, I get very good results. Plays all of my divx/xvid movies without conversion. Better Quality than any ipod i have seen. Just search for best settings to use!
Has anyone test driven the "Kinoma Player"? It is supposed to be very good and works with Leo. I don't know, just trying to find out some information about the quality of this product.

For purchasing core player to use with the HD2, do you download the WM Pocket PC version, or the WM Smartphone version?
I believe these are the ideal settings once it's downloaded (correct?):
Menu/Tools/Settings/Select Page/Video and set :
1-Video output to DirectDraw (not GDI)
2-Smooth Zoom to ON

wm pocket pc version is the one you want, the smartphone version is for non-touch screen devices.
Those settings are fine. GDI works also.

I'm biased, of course, but Kinoma Play is a pretty great app.
The product page is a good representation of what it can do: http://kinoma.com/play/
You can see it in action here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LfYZ-bC20eM
Plus, there's 30-day money-back guarantee in case you're not delighted.

Hi there,
I was looking at how the iphone streams the channels on tvcatchup, the video format used is m3u8. I found a player for windows mobile that says it can play m3u8 video format, called 'Pocket Player'. Messing about with the setting i've managed to get it directly open the video from clicking the link on the website but my problem, ive got is that it only stays as 'connecting' and wont play it. Im not too sure how to get it working, but maybe its just a thing that wont work but any ideas would be great.
Thanks
Ryan_G
Skyfire will play tvcatchup within it's own window. however, yamgo.mobi will use the WM streaming app to play live tv.

Yep, myPlayer gets my vote as it has more streams and 3 different levels of quality. High quality is better than the tvc high quality imo.
