Why hs there still audio stutter during youtube? - HD2 General

Hi
I have had my HD2 for 1 week now. I have noticed that when I have my Wifi connetion and am watching a youtube video, there is still stutter which continues until the video has fully streamed. This is exactly the same problem I had with the touch HD and this lingered until I changed to Duttys 6.5 ROM and then corrected. How do I stop this and will I have to wait for a custom ROM to develop? I find it strang that HTC hae allowed this to hapen twice.
Thanks

I havent noticed any problems with youtube on wifi or 3g. You tried enabling wireless n? ormade sure you dont have like 20 apps open in the background?

Yes, I did no 39 on hints and tweaks.

I get this problem all the time too, especially with windows media player. Even when I am on the tube and its in airoplane mode with 1 or 2 small programs running.

laggy youtube videos on higher quality..

hi guys,
i just bought my brand new htd touch hd
so far am very happy with it.
but there is one thing, when i play youtube videos through the client on higher quality setting, there is a slight lagg after every frame, but voice sync is ok.
any ideas how to correct this problem?
problem also persists when i connect through wifi. I haven't installed any third party software or roms yet. and it shows 45% memory usage while playing videos.
cheers
Well ur not alone mate.. i have same laggery problem on every rom i tried. I found that it have lags while it downloading video in to memory! Try to pause it while it loading and keep it paused til its fully loaded and then play it.. lags gone!! actually i hate this bug and dunno what to do with it!! any help?
I also have that problem.
I think that it is probabily related with the qualcomm missing drivers. (?)

Could be for sure, as youtube is related to graphics.
I dont think its about drivers.. it have lags just when it downloading (buffering) video... it have nothing to do with video drivers..
It's related with video graphics, especially with video driver, because when you set to the low quality the lag is missing. I thing that internet connection doesn't concern the lag, because I've tried with fast internet and the lag also exists. If HTC create more suitable driver for Youtube, like CorePlayer, the lag will vanish.
This is NO driver issue.
When the Video is completely loaded in High Quality, there is no lag!
So this cant be related to the videodriver, it hast something to do with buffering and internet connection!!
well .. thats what i said.. nobody reads it seems
yes and nobody seems to really care about this, because this problem exits since the beginning of touch hd and there is no solution to this i know of

All of a sudden youtube is very slooow!

I have never had any problems since I have Duttys 6.5ROM(unlike 6.1 finale!). However from today the videos are becoming extremly slow to stream when I have Wifi connection. They will stream to approx 30-50% and then freeze and then go approx 50-53-56% etc. It is extremely slow. I have tried adjusting video playback to autoselect rather then high quality but still getting same problem. Incidently there is no problens when using internet,so not sure anything to do with connection. It seems the connection is stuttering.
Please help
New rom fixes it I believe
fixed now!
Somebody was downloading a movie on home PC !

Leo with 1.48 rom and core player

I have used core player flawlessy with 1.43 rom. I have tried various hi-res/hi-bitrate videos and it worked amazingly great.
Then I have upgraded to 1.48.
Now the same videos run really choppy.
I wonder what was changed...
On wmp videos still play good... but unfortunately it doesn't read divx/xvid s.
Anyone else experiencing the same thing?
Are you sure you use the same settings ? For me 'Raw frame buffer' seems to be the fastest.
Actually since I got 1.48 TCPMP doesn't run anymore. It crashes and tells me to send crash.txt to the developers, but I can't find crash.txt. Strange.

Yes... same settings.
Anyway it seems related to the audio not the video.
Playing videos with no audio results in perfect playback.
I haven't changed anything. I wonder why this happends.
Hi,
I've experienced similar, although since I've today re-re-set my device today and installed from scratch etc (and with a now pucka purchased copy of Coreplayer v1.3.6) it seems to be ok.
Nothing scientific here: tried it on 1.43 and it seemed to be ok, pretty sure zero dropped frames (though could be wrong).. tried it on 1.48 and exactly the same xvids unwatchable.. now re-done it and again the same xvids = seem fine, stats show a few frames dropping but all in all it's perfectly watchable to the human eye.
Not sure if this helps you at all - perhaps you might get better response in one of the two other Coreplayer threads on here running? Just an idea - good luck!
Man, i got this same problem. I've tried everything with coreplayer, all different settings, plane mode. Still drops on playing films.
I even convereted to mp4 and it still drops. I know it's coreplayer problem because the htc player and windows media play the mp4's fine.
The only video i've seen it play without drops is a low quality 3gp file.
I even tried different versions of core player but still the same results. I'm on rom 1.48 so maybe this is the problem, but i doubt it. I'm updating to 1.66 soon so we will see......

music player + opera 10 = lag/crash!!

I've just realized a big problem with opera 10.
Indeed, if I surf the web using opera 10 while listening to the music using the HTC music player, music lags and, in the worst case, the telephone crashes.
This problem doesn't happen if I use opera 9.7 in the place of opera 10.
Do anyone has the same problem?
hi,i notice this on my HD2 too. When i'm using the HTC music player and open Opera 10 sometimes the music stops for 2-3 seconds and some kind of lag appears in the browser. This happened to me only a few times and never to the point of a system crash.Maybe you have more apps in background.I'm using the last version of Touch Extreme rom if it helps you.
With Windows media player the problem not happen.Pd:excuse me for my bad English,i'm a spanish user.Regards.
Testing................. No lag for me, everything works fine.
Maybe the problem it's 3g related. In my case the hiccup occurrs surfing one heavy website and when the 3g connection turns to GPRS.When the website was completely load the music player worked fine and it only happened on more time under the same circunstances. For me it's ok.

Which ROM do you use?
I use Michy's 1.2, based on windows mobile 6.5.x
I've just done another experiment; I have the lag problem when heavily scrolling the page. The problem occurs even when the internet page is completely loaded, even when using wifi, so I don' think it is 3g related..

I'm using Vodafone 1.66 rom.
Is there anyone with this problem?
Hi!
I got Music player crash for ~2 secondes too , i did not try Opera.
And this crash is very often.
Rooted G1 UK
CyanogenMod 4.2.15.1
my HD2 crashes with opera 10 + music player
My HD2 freezes when i'm listening to music and when i'm surfing with Opera 10. Can't figure out why, i hardreset a couple of times. Don't have much apps.
Every time it gets stuck and then it reboots. Pretty annoying!
I use
Dutty creme de la creme V5 NLD
radio: 2.12.50.02_02
little note:
Got the same thing with Android marc 1.5
I just tried flashing another rom (artemis) same problem, maybe HPL or radio bug?
After loving Opera 10 for a while, I've gone back to 9.7 due to the random crashes.
If it is set to full screen, when minimised and then maximised, the start bar (including all the network, battery icons) disappear, leaving a black bar.
If it is in landscape and the screen switches off, the phone locks up or freezes for a few moments only to have the phone stuck in landscape.
If I use 9.7, I don't have any of these issues.

I don't want to switch back to 9.7
Music will pause/skip for me when I browse heavy websites (eg: Engadget, Kotaku, pocketnow) in Opera 9.7.
I've been putting it down to Opera being too much of a CPU-hog; when it's busy rendering the page or doing javascript, I suspect it uses up 100%, starving the music app (the sense music player in my case) of CPU time.
Same problem here
I am listening HTC player and browsing in landscape in Opera 10 pretty often, and when I touch accidetly back(<-) HW button, middle of the screen freezes, on the bottom and top are black bars, bottom menu is changing when i press MS button, but nothing else. I can't even turn it off, I have to pull out battery. I never noticed it with 1.66 ROM, but now I am on Duttys Redemption.
Probably the reason is some ROM tweek in register which has these consequencies.
It is pretty anoying. Since then I am extra carefull when I am browsing
I'm getting a weird error with the music player also, for some reason it only plays the first 10-15 seconds of the song and then nothing. I have to fast forward for it to play another 10-15 seconds.
Don't recall changing any settings on the phone, using a stock tmo hd h2
something wrong with HTC music and surfing?
What i tried:
ROM Dutty's Creme de la creme V5 NLD
radio: 2.12.50.20_02
Playing music with HTC music and surfing with opera 10 = HD2 crash
Playing music with HTC music and surfing with Opera 9.7 = HD2 crash
Playing music with HTC music and surfing with internet explorer 10 = HD2 crash
Rom dutty's creme de la creme V5 NLD
Radio: 2.10.50.26
Playing music with HTC music and surfing with opera 10 = HD2 crash
Playing music with HTC music and surfing with Opera 9.7 = HD2 crash
Playing music with HTC music and surfing with internet explorer = HD2 crash
Rom Artemis V28.0 NLD
radio: 2.12.50.20_02
Playing music with HTC music and surfing with opera 10 = HD2 crash
What should ik do? What is the f*ck problem with my HD2?
Also upgrade HSPL from 2 to 3, nothing works.

[Q] Performance Degredation

I've had my u8800 for about a month now and in the past two weeks I've noticed an odd performance degredation; Youtube HD videos will now no longer play properly, instead they will stutter, skip and sometimes just won't display anything at all. I've uninstalled the new programs that I've chucked on in the past couple of weeks (I've been trying out a lot of media players) yet youtube is still failing.
Is there any chance one of these media players (V media player, rock media player lite were a few among the number that I tried) have left behind something that is messing with my youtube HD video playback ? Am I going to have to re-flash?
Thanks, William =)
Ps. I'm running B136SP02 Australian update, rooted with Z4root
Sounds like you might have to flash the Rom...Try one of the latest, perhaps 138, you'll notice a lot of improvements.
Thanks - will do =)
