G-sensor games and apps - HD2 General

I tried some G-sensor apps for diamond. But none worked. It relies on some HTC DLL which is not present on HD2. Is there some fix to that ? Like copying that DLL to HD2 ? Or do we have to wait till those apps are fixed for HD2 ?
Anyway let's collect known working apps.

Resco Bubbles runs perfectly and is a great game.
Shame they charge £15 for a game which is available (identically) on iPhone for about 70 pence.
It's things like this which encourage piracy.

So what Games Work on WM Side?

OK, I know there was a thread that covered games before, but it focused on the Vista side. Though there were some posts about games on the WM side, it was limited.
I've been able to figure out that most applications work (though some REALLY SLOWLY like Touch Commander), but games? This is a completely different issue. I spend a lot of time in airports and would really like my shift to be able to play some of the games my phone (O2 Zinc) does.
Of course we have some problems here - no dedicated soft buttons or application buttons like on a phone (at least none without the Keyboard, and I don't even know if there are "keyboard" ones less the arrors and "Sym"/"OK" keys). Also there is RAM issues, but that should not stop all games. Should it?
So, the question stands - What games do and don't work. So far I know what doesn't:
My Little Tank (Astraware)
Revival (HeroCraft)
Gone in 60 Seconds (HeroCraft)
Of course I do not really why the above don't walk but it probably has something to do with the screen. It does not seem to be RAM as there is at least 15-18MB (pending on my application installation) of free RAM for programs.
Any way - thougts and opinions
Didn't find lots of games working.
Orion doesn't work, and machine at war has some funky touchscreen input.
I was sad finding The Quest from Redshift not working.
Grand Prix Legends runs like a dream.
Especially with the presevation society installer which includes all the latest patches.
I am happily watching my saved replays and they look amazing.
Edit - oh drat, I'm referring to vista side in a WM topic!
My granny says 'oh drat'

FPSEce now working at all on HD2 ! NOOB in need of HELP!

Typo: Meant Not in the title not "now".
Hello fellow smart phone users,
I am new to the deal, would be safe to assume I know nothing. This should be fun for some of you ^.^"
I've got the HD2/Leo from T-Mobile UK and currently on the 1.43.110.2 rom
I have the 3.5 .NET Framework thing installed as per the intructions on the tips thread here. God knows if that has to do with anything.
But the problem is, when I start the FPSEce 0.10, the loader thing starts alright, then when I click on on fpsece010.exe as instructed on Pdf, all I get is a black screen for 1 sec, then back to where ever I was, the app simply doesn't exists in the task manager. Tried uninstalling FPSEce and installing it into the device memory instead duno if that helps, but still no good.
Am I missing something here ? Was there something I should;ve done in the installation process ? Didn't find a video on youtube which is really a N00b guide, all of them assume it works first.
Anyone with the same problem ??
Your help will be greatly appreciated !!!
PEACE^^
The Post is sinking into te abyss with no replies ... Help !!!!!
my advice is to wait for newer versions of fpse as the current 0.10 is still unplayable in my opinion. the control functions have not yet been configured for proper use with the HD2 screen.
im not sure if .net 3.5 is required for fpse but have you configured your device (device policies) to use .net 3.5 in the .net configurator
before some one starts flaming! yes i have tried it and got games to work but the current controls its just to cumbersome to play in my opinion!
ignore due to repost

cheers for the reply,
But I have made the registry change so it uses 3.5 but no good ?
It simply won't start, any chance that it conflict with a specific app ?
Same problems and no answers
here same problem too
1. Do you have a PSX BIOS file in the BIOS folder?
2. Are you starting it from the FPSE icon in the start menu?
3. Do you have a PSX ISO ( game ) to load?
There is no reason to be clicking on fpsece010.exe since the Startmenu icon is handling this. With the correct BIOS installed you should see a request to select your ISO game file at startup.

The donation version works great with the HD2. Well worth the investment.
same here
i got supporter fpsece 0.10 version n still got same problem
if anyone needs bios files check the link below. I've been meaning to test this out so i got in touch with some of my old friends in the emulation scene and i have managed to obtain a quantity of of bios files of many different versions.
I knew all that time i spent playing mario, sonic and co on the pc as a teenager wouldn't be wasted.
I downloaded it and played around before doing the last T-Mo US update, but I could not get multi touch working at all. Until that works in the free version I will save my money. Otherwise it worked very well and I was pleased with the quality, but trying to race with only one button pressed at a time was not so fun

you need to use a bios rom (i am using SCPH1001). copy this file to /Programs/FpseCE/BIOS, then launch fpsece. when the loader shows up, tap "cancel", the program should start and you should see the playstation animation and hear the sound. if this worked, exit fpsece by long-pressing the [X].
then start fpsece again, choose your playstation image in the loader.
if you own the supporter version, you should use the hd2 optimized pack.

You need the supporter version for multitouch. I would highly recommend spending the few dollars it costs to get that if you have the hd2.... its well worth it. This is one of the best programs out there for gamers.... you have the entire playstation library in the palm of your hands. You can even get a psx iso with a nes emulator and every nes game and it plays pretty well with fpsece. The multi-touch controls make a huge difference. Also with the supporter version you get realtime saving and g-sensor support. Well worth the measly 5euros it costs.
strange one here but isnt against forum rules to upload the bios here seen as you're not supposed to be able to get hold of one even though a quick google and you can find it

games dont work on HD2

Hi,
why games with openGL dont work.
i installed NetFramework 3.5 , but the games still dont working.
Is there any solution?
thanks
idoz1977
What games? Some will work and others won't. Check compatibility from the games' developers...
"the games"? Mind pointing out what you are on about?
some games and apps even from marketplace dont work.
like:
Days 2 Birthday, WiToss, Bubble wrap, and more.
That's the "problem" with Windows mobile and the huge number of devices with very different hardware - some apps don't work on all.
Windows mobile 7 should theoretically solve that problem by unifying architectures and setting requirements for compliant devices...

Generic on screen controller ?`

Hi all
Ive downloaded a few games like Worms on my HD2 that seem to work great jut wondering if there is a generic controller that i can download to play games ?
whethr it be faintly over the game screen or whatever ?
thanks
Jack
I use this one here. Im not sure about the compatibility to all the games out there (was designed for worms classic --> the FAR BETTER WORMS BY THE WAY , but im sure they need to support onscreen gamepads to work properly (p.ex. in worms you could/had to assign the keys to the functions of the pad) and unfortunately have to be in/support vga. You need to start the exe inside always before you want to play a game or even better: make a short mortscript which always starts both - the game and the keypad. Enjoy and maybe you want to tell us if it works for other games as well.
Greets
EDIT - One thing: the "X" always closes the keypad-application
o brilliant thanks for that ! works great with worms havent tried it with others yet but will post on how i get on
again thanks alot

Already tried it some time ago and didnt really like it Classic Worms World Party is still my favorite --> Close to PC-Version, better movement if you ask me, more configurable things and in my eyes still the cuter graphics (apart from the fact, that in worms 2010 even the wvga version is still pixulated which would not have been necessary as the game doesnt need a lot of hardware power)... But thats a matter of taste...

[Q] Old 6.5 apps to WP7 is it possible

I've just bought another HTC HD2 had the power supply on the old one packed up and I can only charge the batteries ( I have 4 now) out of the phone, I've previously installed the Energy Rom and it was working brilliantly with its 16 gig microSd card and Tomtom installed.
My question is, there are links here to HOW TO INSTALL WP7 to HTC HD2, even I can follow them BUT, can I use my old apps "6.5" in the new WP7 OS, I'm not sure if its worth changing to WP7 if the old apps wont work like Skype and such.
Thanks in advance.
Rikki.
No, it's bit like asking if you can run iPhone apps on WM6.5 - just can't be done unfortunately.
Thx alot....
I was hoping that some apps were backwardly compatible, but I guess not.
Thanks again, I might play around on the phone thats being returned, it wont matter if I brick it lol.
Sadly not. There are some that have been recreated for WP7 but there is such a disparity in the underlying software architectures that porting just ain't gonna happen...unless someone writes an emulator.
But half of the fun of WP7 is playing with the new apps, some of which are quite sexy and a big step on from WM6.5.
^Maybe but i dont have igo primo for wp7? anyway is there any app for wp7 like igo ?
things are moving fast, every thing is possible but as mentioned above WP7 is made to be the new face for Microsoft and the past is past.
as for emulator, it could be the right answer.
but i don't think it would be for the HD2 and HD7 in their current hardware versions.

If you live in Europe then you can try Navigon Select. Pretty basic but does the job quite well and has the same map source as iGo
For the USA there is a free sat nav software in the Marketplace called A-to-B. This app has european maps (at least for my country quite good ones!), but turn by turn is US only for the moment. European voice guidance is coming soon.
I recall reading that WP7 is based on Windows CE 6.0 (R2, I think). I've also read of GPS devices with CE6 that run some CE5.x apps (after unlocking). In fact, no CE version has ever broken compatibility with previous versions. What usually gets in the way is the layer on top of CE: Windows Mobile before and WP7 now. With WM, problems attempting to run an app in a different version than it was designed for are usually due to 1) version checks during installation failing, 2) version checks at runtime failing, and 3) missing DLLs. I have a lot of experience with overcoming all three in order to get WM apps running on plain CE devices (like GPS devices), so, once I install WP7 on my HD2, I'll see what I can do. Microsoft has made a lot of changes to WP7 to cripple the underlying OS (ex. CE6 supports multitasking), so they may have removed or implemented something that I'm not aware of to lock the phone down and purposely break compatibility (afterall, if WM apps can be made to run, it'd undo what they're trying to accomplish, security-wise), but I'll give it a shot.
there is nothing to stop us having 6.5 apps run on here, both software and hardware are compatible BUT WP7 doesnt use the same set of APIs, so WM6.5 programs would need to be reprogramed (mostly around the UI and hardware interface) to work, of course if they were going to do that then they may as well just write a native program.
This also would mean your phone would need to be unlocked, soooo unless someone developes an emulation layer as a go between you'll not get them working im afraid.
