Hi,
have used the search function but w/o success.
Have switched from HD to HD2 and copied my phone book.
With the HD the caller was recognized all the time didn't matter if the number was stored in national or international format. ( I store all number Int.format )
but know if somebody calls with national ID only he/she is not recognized.
Hope i could explain it that also the good / native speakers understand my issue.
Thanks and sorry for bothering you.
Greetings from Slovenia
Sorry All,
have been searching for hours and 5 minutes after posting the question I found the solution in an German board.
RegistryEdit and Decreasing the CallIDMatch from 12 to 7 solved my Issue
See below
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Phone" name="CallIDMatch"
What Rom code did you use?

Hello there,
I just read on msmobiles.com that not every HTC Wizard comes with the advanced 802.11g WiFi standard. There seems to be a little confusion.
T-Mobile GER says that MDA Vario has 802.11b
O2 GER say that XDA mini S has 802.11b
However the Qtek 9100 and K-JAM2 seem to have 802.11g
Isn't the hardware of those models identical or is there a hidden reg key which enables 11g on every Wizard?
Greetings,
Maui
Not sure about why the Vario seems to have g disabled, but g works perfectly on my KJAM. Might be a ROM thing.
sounds interesting.... any idea how we could figure out if its in software or hardware? would like to have 11g wlan enabled on my O2 XDA MINI S-Wizard ;-)
What is the difference between g and b ???
Wifi works well at home with my FritzBox. I use it to listen to Music streams, Chat with my friends over ICQ and MSN. And surf through the internet!
Its an MDA Vario!
holy ****... maresch, this is not some newbie-forum to explain basic terms like b and g wlan but a place where people with advanced knowledge discuss technical details.
i am not gonna explain you the difference between 802.11b and 802.11g wlan here, because people like you should learn how to google and find out general stuff like that by themselves instead of bothering other people and trashing the forum...
just a short info for you
g: is the state of the art 54mbits wlan standard operating in the same frequency band as b
b: the initial 11mbits wlan standard
Mine has b
I am the owner of a Qtek. Mine has only b. The add said that there should be b and g?
I-MATE K-Jam WWE not locked has G
Almost all in the title. Just purchased a K-Jam WWE in Dubai. No locks. G available. Currently using 802.11g with WPA-PSK/TKIP.
Just one downside: no support for EAP-TLS/EAP-TTLS
and no support for WPA2
They could really make an effort: the later was ratified long ago, and most WiFi chipsets now support AES in HW...
Just reminds me that I-Mate site mentions 802.11i support through future upgrade... would make my day!
Just a quick reminder for the WiFi Newbies around: DO NOT USE WEP.
It takes me 20 minutes to break such a key in a security demo lab...
Cheers,
Hal.
20 minutes!
15 is my average
Lewis
B or G - doesn't matter, because of Wizard architecture max. transfer rate is less than 200 Kb/sec (approx. 2Mbit/sec)
Oh Yes! It does matter!!!
Because a single 802.11b device on a g AP will trigger protection frame amd slow down the rest of my WiFi clients... So poor G is better that no G for me
15 minutes... Hehe, not bad
Cheers,
Hal.
Wheres the best place to see whether its using g or b ? Looked in the network settings and if its there I missed it....
Terran
PS I've set mine to best performace - I wonder if that enables b or g as well ?

Bist du jetzt was besseres..
Ok Guys back2Topic!
I tried to connect to my local Wireless Network but got some problems at the beginning with logging in. Took one time about 20minutes to login on to my Router (with WEP) Now it takes less than 60seconds to connect.
All this talk of WEP cracking in 15mins has got me worried!
I thought WEP cracking was based on number of packets rather than amount of time. So if I wasn't transmitting much data it would take ages.
What do you use to crack it?
I only seem to have WEP in my router. I can limit the MAC addresses allowed to connect but I guess people can still sniff my traffic . . .
Cheers
The 15mins number got me worried, but reading this:
http://www.tomsnetworking.com/Sections-article118.php
seems to suggest you're going to need some substantial throughput even with a 128bit pass.
And presumably your home OS is well protected?
Worst case on my system, there's not an enormous amount I'd lose if someone could use my network (although I'd be more concerned about compromising my home pc). Frankly, I'm happy if someone is getting some use out of my AP. I'm only downloading naughty stuff anyway
But there are a good number of ways to protect the system. Nothing is 100%, but most should deter most.
V
WPA is not perfect too... But, only 20 digits(letters) keyword (or more) makes WPA safe enough.

It *IS* a ROM thing. I have a Belkin Pre-N router set up for G-only connections. My Vario was completely unable to connect to this router, so I had to set up a separate B-only access point on my network.
This morning, I flashed my Wizard with the iMate K-JAM WWE 1010903_106_10110_ship ROM. It now connects with no complaints to the G-only Belkin router.
I therefore conclude that this is a ROM limitation, not a hardware difference.

No. Well it is in a way. You can trick most routers into continually spewing out lots of encrypted packets by listening for and then repeating encrypted ARP packets. So you only need a little bit of inital traffic and you can generate the rest yourself. Once you do that its just a matter of time.

Hello all,
I've the HTC Prophet called XDA Neo since a few weeks and I'm absolutly glad with it, except two points:
1. The accu really isn't the best thing... it only runs exactly 48 hours (two whole days), when doing *nothing* with it.
2. and this is much more annoying:
I'm getting so called "network message" every few seconds! They're only containing one large number, nothing more.
Every time when my Neo receives such a msg, it switches the screen on again.
How can I get rid of these messages???
Many thanks for any tip about this second point.
Sincerely
Alex

Alex
Could it be Settings->Phone->More then untick Broadcast Channels ?
Could also be part of the homezone service of O2. Do you have a contract with homezone?
>1. The accu really ...
What is the 'accu'?
>2. ...I'm getting so called "network message" every few seconds...
I've got this problem also with my Charmer with O2 network. However, I've only got it everytime I switch on my phone (soft reset). And once a while (as I suspect) it will came out every 2-3 hours, which may caused by the disconnection of my phone from the network (e.g. signal too weak). For my case, it is even worse. When the message appears, any other notification (including reminders for Tasks and Appinments) will not show (they will queue at the back of this network message).
I'm not able to solve the problem, even I've cleared the Broadcast thing as kevino mentioned here. So, I just got used to it and check my phone every once a while.
However, after the new Charmer ROM has been release, Ive upgraded my phone and the problem is now gone forever. So, you may want to check if you have any official ROMs that you can used to upgrade and possibily get rid of this message thinky.

In german this should be named "Sendekanäle" which means in english something like "Sending channels".
I've deactivated this thing now.
Let's wait for those network messages...

No. I'm a prepaid user without contract and so without a homezone (afaik).

I meant the accumulator or in other words the rechargeable battery of this device.

Hmm... I'm thinking about to flash my Neo with another ROM. But I'm absolutly new to this and so I still have to inform myself about how to do this and which ROMs I'm able to use for the german O2 XDA Neo.
There's an official rom update at the german O2 site. it's an .exe just start it and follow the instructions, very easy.
//EDIT:
searched the link for you: http://o2online.de/o2/kunden/technikundeinst/exclusive/xda/xdaneo/index.html?nidx=1

Unfortunatly, or in most cases luckily I'm not using Windoze on any of my PCs. I'm only using Linux (Gentoo) and an old G3 PowerBook with Mac OSX 10.4 (which will be soon "converted" into a gentoo box too).
Any other way to "flash"(?) my Neo with a new ROM without the use of Windoze and ActiveSync, which only runs on Windoze?

Btw. this seems to do the trick. Many thanks!
I've got no "network message" since about two hours now! Cool.
Regarding the battery:
The reason it ran out so fast for you is because of the messages that turned your device on all the time.
With push mail and Bluetooth off the device can sit on standby about a week (at least for me)
With push mail it's less than half that, BT about 2/3 I think.
Browsing the internet (over GPRS) while listening to MP3 about 3.5 hours.

thanks for this explanation, I thought so too.
Another question regarding the battery: Is it normal that it is fully re-charged again in about one and a half hour??!
I know from older devices and from my old handys that it normally needs much more time (From 5 up to 12 hours) to re-charge the battery.
I haven't fully discharged the battery yet, but your battery has 1200mAh and the usb is capable of max. 500mA (likely to be less) and according to "adam riese", you need at least 1200/500=2.4h to charge a fully discharged battery.
With the ac-adaptor it is possible if it's capable of about 800mAh and the device is capable of this. I haven't tested yet.
I also observed that the battery-driver of prophet charge the battery more (more remaining capacity) than others like xda-mini. I fully charged the battery of xda-mini and put it afterwards into the prophet and the prophet shows about 92%... leads to continue charging...
But prophets batteryload decreases very fast (100%-96%) after fully charged the battery. Fortunately only untill 96%.
[Update] I've checked out prophets ac-adapter and it's capable of 1A, so 1.5h seems to be okay

Hello,
that´s my first post in this board. I read them often, so i decided to register me, because i´ve got a problem with my MDA Vario.
In the last time (my sister have the same problem), my MDA is very unstable. When i write a sms, on the display are only stripes, like a barcode. This problems contains not only when i´m writing a sms, still if i want to make a phone call, the problem is there.
I want to use now the Original HTC software, O2, or Vodafone Software for my MDA.
But when i´m going to install this file (i´ve downloaded it from your ftp-server), my pc gives me message: "Error, you can not update....".
It would be very nice, if someone could help me.
Thans in advance.
P.S.: Sorry for some bad words in english, i´m not a native speaker
Hi
I just got my N1 and I'm very happy for it. But I got one problem, it won't log on the 3G/Edge. It won't make any APN settings at all. I can't seem to find the required APN and it kinda irritates me. Could someone please help me?
Hi, just call your phone provider.
They got all the info you need.
Is your provider not listed in on mobildebat.dk/showthread.php?t=167658 ?
I can't get mms to work on happiimobil either. Used the same apn settings as on my magic, but just won't work
Same settings as in cited thread.
I recently got back from Shenzhen China, and bought a V20 from the Market in Hua Qiang Bei area.
After using it in China, when I got back to my country, and connecting to Wifi, then this menu appears. I don't know any Korean LAnguage, but I suspect it's reported stolen ? or Security ? or other things ?
Anybody can help ? Thanks a lot.

You should at least attempt a online translation.
I did.
Yes, OP, your phone is stolen.
first line - find the owner
second - unlock
third - emergency call
Did you have even the slightest thought that purchasing a electronic device in a foreign country may lead to this very situation? Because if you did, you should have listened.
I imagine this device is on an international blacklist now. It is now mostly useless.
Edit - grammar
