Daylight Saving time issue in Australia?? - HD2 General

I have an issue with my HD2, running 1.48 firmware (but had the same issue in the 1.43) europe version
When I boot up the phone, it defaults to Sydney, Australia (which is 1 hour ahead due to daylight saving), and then I change the location to Brisbane, Australia (where I am living). If I reboot the phone it defaults back to Sydney and puts the time 1 hour ahead....
Does anyone know how to remove daylight saving on Winmo6.5? I remember there being an option in there in 6.1 and earlier, but I cannot find it on this one. Plus, is all of the above just a bug??

XDA2: screen sometimes switches on in standby for no reason

hello world.
my XDA2 (which has been in repair for 1 week, since O2 Germany is unable to exchange it for supply shortage) sometimes switches on its' screen for no reason while being in standby mode.
Does anyone have an idea about the cause for this behaviour?
By the way, has anyone experinced mechanical problems with the SD slot?
On my XDA2 the mechanism got broke as a spring hopped out after using my Sandisk WiFi SD card averagely daily once for 3 months (that's the reason why it is in repair).
Anyway, the mechanism didn't made a stable impression to me from the beginning.

Not sure if you are aware of this, but there is a flag on Start...Settings...Today...Items - Display Today Screen if device is not used for xx hours. This is turned on by default and the default value is 4 hours. I've never seen any use for this option and have had it turned off from day 1 and have made sure I remember to turn off after a couple of hard resets.
other possible reasons are for re-gaining the weak phone signal or the mobile schedule for sync with a server is turned on.
I had the same problem and actually searching the forums on this great site brought the solution to my problem.
Do you have sprite backup installed ? have you turned on the schedueled backup and/or to backup when battery level reaches a certain value ?
Sprite are aware of this problem. when these two optiones are turned on, the screen will turn on for no reason causing the battery to drain.
Hi
I see you have O2 in Germany and I guess Genion also...
In the first ROM Version die Homezone Control was buggy and cased this behaviour
Check your ROM if it is an old one (1.52) Update to the 1.60.52 here the homezone control is fixed ( and cleartype also good, I hated the 1.66 )
Alex
Thank you so far.
I hope O2 will return my repaired toy soon, so I can check your proposals.
I hate O2 Germany - they don't exchange $1000 phones, whereas Vodafone exchanges every customer's phone in advance at your doorstep. If GPRS is unaivalable, O2 won't even check what is going on and tell you to wait 24h and call again later. Sometimes the Multicards (up to 3 SIM cards with the same number) won't work for whole days, what means that you are not available and callers get a message saying, the called number was incorrect. Furhter the national roaming (which is necessary in Germany, since O2 has the worst coverage) with T-Mobile won't work for hours. I have had only bad experience with these guys!
Hopefully KPN buys up O2 Germany soon and makes their network and customer support work.

My X1a clock always reverts to GMT London

I do not know why, but yesterday, all of a sudden my X1 started reverting the clock back to GMT (London). I keep on changing it back to +8 Pacific time, but it will change it back....
I cannot seem to figure this out. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Cheers!
Do you have TouchFlo3D installed??
The TF clock has a bug with daylight savings times... something carried over from HTC devices.
I'm not sure if there is a fix. We had the same problem in Australia (on a TF based rom), but daylight savings has ended and the problem has gone.

Phone keeps changing time zones

Hi all, my TMOUS HD2 randomly changes time zones from EST to PST at least 2-3 times a week on its own when I have "my location" picked as a time. Anyone else have this problem? I flashed to the new T-mo ROM about 3 months ago...Tj
My device and a friend's device is having the same issue. This is irrelevant to the ROM as I am running a Artemis after the 3.14 and my friend is on 1.48
mine just recently started doing that..keeps putting me in the GMT -5 (Indiana) time zone instead of the -4 (Atlantic) I've had to change it like 3 times in one day. Never had a problem with this b4. Wonder if it has anything to do with the ThrottleLauncher WP7 theme i installed on it the other night..because that time setting seems to be changing to.
my uk hd2 keeps doing this over the last week or so, randomly jumping ahead timezones. it's persisted accross multiple energy roms and a stock rom.
weird

my HD2 was doing this but only when i would go home to visit in Richmond TX. When i would update weather manually it would switch to eastern time zone. I think this is because the phone thinks I am in Richmond VA so it switches to Eastern time. I havent found a viable fix for this but its not really an issue.
IS there a chance you are using your phone in a city or town that has a common name in another state? this might be the reason. While riding my motorcycle a while back i stopped in London Arkansas and my phone thought I was in London UK.

same Indiana time zone default issue. I HAVE THE LATEST 3.14 original ROM with c00kie's home tab.
Same here with the original ROM installed. I live in GMT+1 timezone and it sets my time one hour ahead at least 5x a day. Pretty annoying.
Hmmm... wondering if this issue has no fix, or if its not wide spread enough... It DEF has something to do with CUSTOM roms, because both me and my wifes HD2 worked like champs for a month straight out of the box, with location services and the whole nine with out ANY problems, I flashed ChuckyROM and here it is... No matter how many times i change the timezone, no matter how many soft resets, no matter how many ROMS flashed, the time keeps jumping... sometimes one hour, sometimes 2, it onlys corrects when i DISABLE all time syncs and locations... WHICH SUCKS and shouldn't be the fix... ANY HELP would be appreciated , THANKS IN ADVANCE
Hi folks!
Pls. check & use this!

It should fix all time zone issuse... Just give me a feedback!
Regards,
MrT69
That happened to me a long time ago. And I remember I fixed it either by checking/unchecking something on the Windows Mobile Device Center (or ActiveSync), something in the sort of NOT synchronizing Outlook items (no problem with me because I never use that anyway; I use MyPhone instead).
think i have a fix
disable the option in settings - menu - all settings - personal - phone - gsm/umys services - time synch
you can leave the option in settings - data services - internet time sync enabled.
not sure why its changed, i have stock everything....
chris
I know the problem
Hello,
I know this problem.
And I think I know the reason for this "acting out".
It started for my HD2 at the day of the
DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME change.
I believe the makers of that phone forgot to install
a daylight savings option.
It would be great, if someone could make a clock that will do that,
or that will verify the time with a different time service,
taking into account daylight savings time (winter/summertime).

Nope. Its a problem for org ROMs also. It probably has somting to do with the Internet-provider or the providers of weather-app etc.
In my case the "my lokation" in the weather-app is showing wrong place. This error appeared at the same time as the clock-problem.

Nexus one on Orange UK - Clocks changed but not my phone!

Hey all, the clocks have gone back an hour today to gmt. However my nexus one with cm6.1 is still showing the bst time. I have automatic time selected in settings, so it's supposed to be taking it from the network. I don't want to have to go to manual time selection if possible.
Anyone else seeing this problem?
I'm on O2 and it changed over without any problems.
Not sure if its a phone setting or it comes from the network but either way it worked
Orange here and time changed automatically
Fixed itself
Hmm... After selecting and selecting the automatic time option a few times, it seems to have fixed itself.
I wish out had done it automatically - my alarm went off an hour early!
You can use ClockSync to avoid such problems in the future http://www.appbrain.com/app/clocksync/ru.org.amip.ClockSync
I know that most phones sync without such apps, but I'm a bit OCD about exact time, so I sync my phone daily with atomic clock

HD2 Leo TMOUS Time Issue

So has anyone had an issue with their HD2 Leo giving the wrong time? I was visiting family back in Richmond TX for the week and everytime I went to Richmond TX my phone would move up an hour and when I went to check the time it would say Eastern Time Zone. Im assuming it thinks im in Richmond VA. Does this everytime. THen when I would go back to my other home in Sugar Land TX it would move back the hour to the correct time.
Anyone has a wierd issue like this with your phone? I would figure only people possibly living in a city that has a name common in other states might have this issue. I was in another town called London while I was riding and my phone would think I was in London UK.
im in sugarland, and my phones time has been acting weird all week, maybe its due to my android install but its too strange that this could be a coincidence..
you have to set the phone to local time and you can do that by going to the alarm clock and selecting the world clock and then put the green dot on "my location" and then the phone will automatically adjust the time based upon where you are.
I'm having the same problem. It seemed to go wrong after I tried to install andriod. I have re flashed the stock ROM but the phone is still acting very strange as far as the time is concerned.... Help?
DST?
im in the UK, and we have juyst put the clocks back by an hour after British Summer Time has ended (DST) on sunday 31st October.
since then my HD2 has attempted to reset the time and keeps randomly changing it, yesterday is was showing as no longer on BST and still showing me an hour ahead, today it has randomly changed from 10:30 am to 1:30pm.
not quite sure what is going on with it, when ever i request carrier time it keeps reverting to 1 hour forward but not on BST.
hopefully it will reslove itself over time. if not looks like will have to turn off some of the location services and stick to manual city location within world clock.
