I have tried Microsoft My phone and I cannot get my SMS messages sync online. The SMS option is greyed out, I cannot check or uncheck the option. Other options are working fine.
Any help would be appreciated.
I also posted a thread about this. No respons tho yet.

Seems this is a general problem to HD2 users
http://social.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/MyPhone/thread/3ae55b4d-3c6f-4f43-b896-8afad8eb8772
Don't think it's a general problem, as it works fine for me.
Do you have HTC messaging disabled? That's the only thing I can think of (I do have it disabled, due to SMS messages not being sent).

I'm using default htc Sense for SMS
And, although the SMS check box grayed out, but text message sync (btn server & HD2) is still success indeed.
for some reason the latest My Phone client installed and assume that the SMS is sync'ed via exchange server, so the way to override this assumption is by modifying the registry value
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\My Phone,
change the registry value "DisableSMSDataType" from "1" to "0"
SMS sync
Thanks for the tip! The registry hack sorted it on my HD2
Apparently M'soft are 'still working on a fix'

Thanks alot zenkinz, that did it for me!

You need a registry editor, not file explorer.
Try Total Commander (just google it, or search in the xda forums).

Many Thanks:
Only One thing to confirm: I should install "Total Commander for Windows CE/Pocket PC" on my HD2?

Yep - when you run it, theres a button in the top right like this "\" that ensures you're at the device root. Click that, then double-click on "\\plugins", which is normally top in the list. Then double-click "registry" to get to the registry root.
and another thanks here too.
not before I wiped my exchange server (2007 which doesn't support SMS anyway) partnership and finally did a hard reset to remove the sms fix that i was convinced had started this problem since it worked previously. Perhaps it was the mandatory update of the myphone app?
Anyway, working now. thanks again.

Hey yall,
I'm trying to figure out what happen here. I believe on most pocket pc phones - when you press messaging you are brought to a screen that shows the options
----------------
TEXT MESSAGES
----------------
MMS
----------------
SET UP EMAIL
----------------
What I would like to know is on my phone I had all those things however just recently all I would see after pressing the messaging shortcut is
--------------
SET UP EMAIL
--------------
Where did the text messaging and mms option go? Are there ways to fix this without hard resetting? I sure hope so - it'll save me a lot of time. Thanks a bunch guys.

I don't think the rom has anything to do with this - I could be wrong though. :-/

That is all the shortcut has personally I like:
32#:"\windows\tmail.exe" -service "SMS" -open "inbox"
That is a direct link to SMS inbox I programmed it to my right soft key for fast access.
Hope I helped ya!

Thanks for trying however that won't solve the problem I am having above. Using file explorer I would click on tmail.exe - the only thing that will pop up is
Setup E-Mail
SMS and MMS are not there to choose from. Originally when I click on messaging I would get 3 options to choose from. Now I would only get 1. Does that make any sense?
Looks like you might need to install Arcsoft again to get it back if it is gone.

Well that didn't work. Thanks for trying though. One thing I do notice though is - when you hard reset and check the process section under taskmanager you will see tmail.exe running in the background. With my problem - the tmail.exe is no where to be found under process. Clicking on the actual tmail.exe file under /windows doesn't do anything either. :-/
what version of acrsoft MMS did you install?

Maybe there's no fix for this - probably would have to hard reset and then take the 7+ hours to reinstall everything :-/ Thanks for the help though
Have you installed any mail/sms software?
My original german o2 branded ROM used to pop up a window to confirm that an sms text message was sent. I flashed a non-branded german stock ROM and now the phone does not give me any confirmation after I send a message.
I tried searching the forum because I could have sworn I read about this a few weeks ago, but I can't find anything.
I would rather avoid installing tweaking programs because I had problems with them (HD Tweak as well as AutoConfig) in the past.
Is there a registry entry I can change?
EDIT: For solution, see posts 4 and 5.

Thank you, but that is still different. With your suggestion I actually end up receiving an sms from "system administrator" saying that my message was sent. BUT that is a bit annoying because it ends up being a new sms message in my inbox that I then have to delete every time.
In my o2 ROM, I had that option turned off, and the phone always popped up a little message window that said "sms was sent". It would hide automatically, and I never had to erase anything from my inbox.
sms sent...

Thank you!!! Yes, that was it!
I did not install your cab, but I looked inside it and found the registry key needed.
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\Settings
Change "SMSNoSentMsg" value to 0 in order to get the confirmation!
I'm sure installing the cab, would have done the job, but I was still curious about what registry key it was.
Thanks again.
there's an option it hdtweak as well (it does the same registry work)
schap's advanced config can also turn this on/off
Huhu,

I just started using Microsoft MyPhone. And had to update it twice before it could actually work.
Initially it had version 1.01, then 1.05.2128. Both of them had the option to sync sms/mms enabled.
Now in this new version, 1.05.2317, the sms/mms option is greyed out!
Is there a workaround for this? Is it because it's not the official WM6.5 message client?
Greetings, Lennart
Sms Syncing
Hope this helps - it sorted my HD2 - Try a registry editor
Navigate to: HKLM\Software\Microsoft\My Phone,
change the registry value "DisableSMSDataType" from "1" to "0"
Sorted?
As stated in the other thread, it works!
Thanks for the heads up tho Appreciate it!
most recent update sorted this out for me!
Anyone knows how to show/create the folders in sms inbox like blackstone/WM6.1
In previous version i can just sort out different person's sms into different folders, I think it can be done by just change the registry, anyone got it? Please share to others. thanks.
Hi there,
I have the same question.
Any guru out there can help?
Many thanks!

Dears,
How can i know my sent SMS status on my HTC Diamond 2 mobile??
(Sent - Received,...)
is there anyway to know that?
When writing the SMS, go to options- there is the option for a delivery report.
Sorry to hijack this post.
But I have just updated my phone with the official windows mobile 6.5 from the HTC website. For some reason I now can not set the LED to stay on until I have read the message like I used to be able to. The tick box is greyed out. Does anyone know a way around this?
SQueal. there is a regedit to fix this. get a regeditor,if you dont already have one and navigate to HKCU\Controlpanel\Notifications and find entry A877D65B…
change AvailableOptions value to 15.

Thanks codhunter, is there a registry editor on the phone, or can I access it through a PC one when its hooked up via active sync?
While I am in there, is it also possible to change the text message alert to something I want, I notice that they have removed this on the updates as well which is quite irritating.
