You could always use a video encoding program to get your subtitles and at the same time be able to play them on the HD2's own video player.
TCPMP with subtitles plugin works fine too.
Encoding video takes too much time. I don't want to bother. And none of the TCMP versions worked at me. All of them crusing. Thanks anyway.
Get Coreplayer... It's the best

Do a search...there's a specific version that works for HD2.
And coreplayer has ZERO subtitles support. Pathetic for something that's not free.

hi, i am lookng for a video player supporting subtitles in text format or other ?? is there anything like that ??
cheers, matt
I'm relative sure that TCPMP has you covered here.
i am using TCMPM and cannt see this option.
Don't think the core player supports subtitles and have not seen another player that includes this. Why not do what i do and encode the subtitles with the rest when i am encoding the video - comes out fine on my device - just about read the text. I use fair use wizard (free edition) for straight ripping from dvd to xvid including subtitles. http://www.fairusewizard.com/lang_en/fairuse_wizard_dvd_divx_xvid_backup_tool_light_edition.html
thats fine if i wanna rip dvds but i am tolking about avi format. i mean i usualy have avi movie in eng and polish subtitles in seprate txt format. i use vpaler on my desktop. any ideas ??
I think it does - in the version 0.72
Hi.
You may also try:
http://pdaclub.pl/forum/index.php?topic=58491.0
it's in polsh, but pictures are also.
Quite simple and it works.
And you will need the newest version of TCPMP: 0.81 with such support.

How can i play avi and divx on HD? plz some help?
As far as I know you will need good player. I will wait for CorePlayer 2.0
try this
http://www.4shared.com/file/51243023/beaf1cb8/TCPMP-072RC1-ARM-PPC-recomp-03CAB.html
This worked with my blackstone
I also used CorePlayer from CoreCodec... very good player, but you need to pay a small amount of money to be able to use it legally.
Plays probably anything you care to throw at it, most notably normal divX files, like ~800mb .avi aXXo rips and such.
I used the DIVX player for mobiles downloaded from DIVX.COM for free! Seems to play any Divx and Xvid .AVIs I've tried so far without problems! Give it a try!
http://labs.divx.com/MobileDownload
and since I posted that message, more digging around has pointed me to an updated version of TCPMP that works on WM6.1.
You'll find a link to that thread below...

Hope this helps!

does divx player mobile play flawless standard divx (for example 700mb divx) or did you convert to phone format?
I've read that the Core Player sometime has a choppy playback. Anyone here experience that?
And I'm also curious about jackthekayman's question as to how flawless the Divx player mobile plays videos.

Yes they are. Somehow they have the same source but core is faster while TCPMP supports more formats as like AC3.

CorePlayer is the only player worth using.. I bought it for my Nokia and have now transferred my license to WM6.1 (for free )
No conversion of formats is needed. Even Full movies etc.. Best framerate.
When coreplayer reaches 3.x in the near future it will also have hardware support for HTC phones.
Great program, great developers.
FYI... I haven't used TCPMP yet, but it is possible to convert an AVI file to MP4 which can be played with the HD's built in player. The easiest way to convert is is by using VLC to do it, here's a quick tutorial: http://appleclinic.wordpress.com/2008/04/20/convert-wmv-to-mp4/

Is there any steaming media player can support 320x240 h.264 format?
Can anyone share the cab installed file of steaming media player?
Thank you very much!
Have you tried CorePlayer? Personally not tested it's streaming features but by far, the best media player out there..
I've tried coreplayer V1.25, but my mobile phone hanged....
diamond? works on mine perfectly with h264 streamsfrom the web. just lags a little and the resolution is different tho.

I'm sorry, but I couldn't help myself. The term you are referring to is called 'stReaming', and not 'steaming', which brings a whole new meaning to the phrase...
lol no wonder it looked awkward, reminds me of the iSteamy app on jailbreak iPhones!

Hi, I am using diamond too, you're using coreplayer to play h.264 streaming video? I used coreplayer to play that, but after I pressed the "play", the mobile will freeze on the screen.

sorry, it's only a typing mistake
I've read that the most efficient player on the HD2 is the Windows Media Player Mobile, despite the fact that other applications support more video types and whatnots...
If I understood correctly, it's because the WMP uses some sort of hardware acceleration.
(If I'm wrong in any of this, please correct me!)
With this in mind, I wanted to prepare a few videos for my HD2 with the following tools at my disposal:
- Camtasia
- FFDShow
- Anything that's free
So far I was trying out Camtasia with FFDshows encoder, making XVID, DIVX or H.264... almost all of these rendered fine (with the exception of the H.264, which for some reason was not in synch with the audio), and could be played on my computer... however, after copying the files over to my HD2, WMP couldn't play any of them.
So... what can I do to make nice quality video files playable on my HD2?
Try this ...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=467112
Just be sure to set the resolution for the HD2

I beg to differ on that ....
It plays More but not better as coreplayer does not yet support hardware acceleration on the HD2, the built in player does ...
Personally I wish they would fix coreplayer, it is a very nice player ...
Also coreplayer is a retail app, so the link you posted is technically Warez, which are not allowed ...
Thanks for the link, watcher64!
EDIT: Albeit I tried it, and the audio was out of synch...
If I may ask a stupid question... what format IS supported by that WMP anyway? I mean, I assumed that at least ONE format generated by the FFDshow codec would work... while all of them failed.
MPEG4 / MP4 I know they work for sure. all the BRrips go str8 in to my TMOUS HTC HD2. not on my laptop now but I saw/have a SD/HD movie converter for this phone will upload for you asap.
Try XMedia Recode
It has a setting for HD2 use, and to be honest, I've copied a couple of Blu-Rays using this, and it is flawless within the HTC Video/Picture tab...
+1 for XMedia Recode. Easiest tool so far.
XMedia-Recode is better then the one I use...time to switch THX
The best player on my HD 2 I ever had, playing almost all formats smooth and brilliant is this one:
