Can anyone tell me which one is the latest English QTEK ROM available?
I tried looking on myqtek.com but i'm assuming they wont accept my IMEI, so i had a look on the XDA FTP, and i couldnt work out which was the newest one (coinciedentally, when was the newest one released, and is there a newer one on the verge of release?)
Thanks!
That's the one.
Cheers

Thanks alot
Are there any known 'issues' with this ROM?
Is there already a thread discussing this ROM, i cant see one if there is
thanks again
Gah, i just tried to install that ROM (on a UK MDA Pro) and i got this error:
ERROR 120: COUNTRY ID ERROR
The ROM image that you are trying to use is not designed to work on your device. Please
check the vender Web site and download the correct ROM update.

I've just got all the files together, one question though, what should the screen look like when it's in bootloader mode? Is it mostlyblank, with some text in the middle?
Thanks again

Yes, the Boot loader screen looks blank with "Version 1.XX" at the bottom.
Sweet, i've just flashed my MDA Pro with the latest QTEK ROM..... seems really good so far...... alot faster than the CRAPPY T-Mobile ROM!
If it's fixed the problem i was having with the T-Mobile ROM, then i'll be very happy
Fingers crossed!

Seems pretty good so far, and quite a bit faster than the latest T-Mobile ROM. Haven't encounted the crashing problems i had with that ROM either, so fingers crossed, it'll be OK now! (although i won't hold my breath!)
I just need to skin it up now I hate the crappy standard blue windows theme (i kinda liked the pink+grey t-mobile one lol)
Another nice ROM is JWright's Modified ROM, which is a modified QTEK ROM. Personally, I think Jwright's ROM is better than QTEK's, because I experienced the lag problem in using the BT headset when I have QTEK's ROM on my exec. I switched to Jwright's ROM, and the BT lag issue disappered, I added some files from T-Mobile and it's the best so far.

Cool, well once i've confirmed that the crashing issue is totally gone (by sending alot more txts & e-mails) i'll probably start thinking about customising it a bit
I've seen some really nice skins around, especially that Windows Vista one..... i just gotta figure out how to install it lol

thx in advanced
OH MY GOD I DROPPED MY PHONE TODAY!!!!!!!!!
rofl omg im so pissed at myself :'(
Stupid cheap crappy plastic case.... it's sooooooooo deeply scratched and dented
Luckily it still works fine, and the screen/keyboard/buttons aren't damaged.. but still........ really annoying
Anyway, as for the speed... from my experience so far, the QTEK is faster
I m now using the latest O2 ROM. It the latest version of the OS. So, one shall try the O2 rom in corporate mode(0506)
Well i totally give up now, i've got the EXACT same problem using this QTEK ROM, so i'm assuming it's either a problem with the hardware (memory?!) or the OS......
so pissed off right now...... i have a externally and internally ****ed phone! HORRAY!!!!!

lol that line was pretty funny. On a serious note, that's a real bummer you dropped your phone
I hope you get the internal part worked out, I'm sure it's just a software issue.
This is the original problem:

Hi everybody!
The hd is my first wm mobile and I like it a lot.
It is proberbly a bit early, but is there a better unofficial ROM for it which is better than the original?
Can anyone point me to a link where it is shown how to change ROM

Hi
I´m sure very soon there will be some cooked ROM´s by the great chefs of this site as there are with many other devices, meantime read here:
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Blackstone
any word on when the first official roms are coming out? cause I really do think that some of the issues with the phone need to be repaired by HTC themselves so we get a more stable rom to base cooked roms on... like the freezes many people encounter, this is bound to get repaired on the first update.
someone posted that HTC knew nothing about this problem, this is nonsense, many people mailed them about it already.
Screwed up a bit here.
Can someone post 3a8e04af_manila and 7c60907d_manila here?
Preferrably from the WWE 1.66.405.2.
Please?...
You could just reflash the ROM

Reflash the rom seems bit... unnecessary, hard reset will do it. But, I didnt really want to do that right now so thats why i asked
So thanks a BUNCH john, highly appreaciated!
[Edit]
There, now it works a bit better than before
Again, huge thanks for that fast reply John.

No worries mate
Hmm... homescreen icons still seem a bit "out of phase", the first three. Wonder if it will be resolved by installing Vovichek&Jamrecords_16Shortcuts again? Any ideas anyone?

Yup, that it did. Thanks for helping out John

Hey, my long awaited HD2 is coming tmrw!!! WOOHOO! YES!
Okay, all excitement over, what is the first thing I should do?
As in, screen tests, setting tweaks, etc?
Also, can someone step by step go through how to flash a EnergyROM onto the device later, once I have it?
Thanks,
The Gamer in MYJ

Thanks man, I've heard so much good about it, but lately there have been so many bugs/problems being discussed on the forums, that I'm slightly scared.
Okay, thanks for the advice, will do. I just was looking at some ROMs, and saw how awesome Energy looked with MaxManilia haha
Hi there! Welcome to XDA Developers
I see your HD2 is arriving soon! Trust me it is SHINY!!!
And you'll love the way the device balances in your hand. Anyways, i'd suggest first of all to learn how to use the phone. Like, familiarise yourself with the layout, play around with the camera, and best of all flow through the Sense UI.
To learn how to flash ROMS, go to the HD2 Rom development section and head into the HSPL Guide there. Everything is mentioned step-by-step. Follow instructions carefully
That said, i'll strongly advice you try out more than one ROM, as each chef has his/her own unique taste and preferances. You're sure to find a ROM that's "just right" for you!
Remember to install Chainfire's HD2 Driver Patch, as that'll make your device run even smoother. Finally, browse through the General forum, and make sure you check out the Tips and Tricks forum, which is a life saver! If you want, also update your phone's Radio Version (found in the ROM Development Section)

Hey Gamer,
Congrats i'm sure you will be happy with your choice. I would see how the stock rom fairs up for a couple of days nothing against custom roms some of the do look great! A friend of mine uses the ENERGY Roms. But i'm still running on stock just upgraded to 1.66 today but still loving it even though it isn't modded.

I suppose that the cookie mod imitates the iPhone's app screen? Maybe people will be like "My device has 3 UI's in 1: iPhone home which is what the cookie rom seems to do, then there's the WinMo Start button, when you tap that, you get the Program menu...and last but not least...HTC Sense
Plus it gives a more wider base for the HD2 to stand on (if that made Sense)
Mind the pun

Well there are 2 ways of getting the 1.66 Rom, first would be HTC's website, then Support, and go to the ROM update (You'll need to enter some digits found under your phone battery) OR...you can go to the HD2 ROM Development section and then look under the Stock Roms (easier and faster in my opinion than going all the way to HTC's website!)
Ps. EnergyRoms are amazing...you won't know until you try and experiance it for yourself! There are many tweaks etc applied...and it has a cool theme set. You'll also get regular updates

As Mr Elemental_Fire says, I would go for getting the rom via HD2 Development section. I downloaded the from from HTC website and for such a small file it seemed to take ages.(Could of just been the shonkey EU server though)
Hi all.
While driving home today, I had the music player on connected to the car stereo, and it kept skipping tracks backwards and forwards, then started dialling a friends number!!
This happened two or three times, so I done a restart and it was ok.
Anyone else had this?
Is it likely to keep happening?
I'm new to the forum, and to the Leo, but really loving it and would like to keep loving it
Thanks, Andy
Hi there!
So you say you are new to the Leo, so it might be that you have not installed the latest ROM yet.
Also don't forget to install ALL the hotfixes, there is also a hotfix for music stability for the latest ROM.
You can download the official ROM's from htc.com.
Good luck!
Hiya.
Many thanks for that.
I got the HD2 second hand, so not sure what updates have been done.
I'm using ROM version 1.66.405.2 if that helps?
I'll have a look on the HTC site and see what I can find.
Many thanks
