System Monitor Widgets - Hero, G2 Touch General

What do you guys (and gals) think are the best sytem monitoring widgets for the HERO?

I use Internal Memory Widget and SD Card Memory widget but I'd also be interested to know of any more like this. I see some people have a widget that displays battery info and CPU speed etc, but I'm not sure what it's called.
Also, if you want a decent sys info app then try OS Monitor.

aisystem widget is one, think it's $2.99 from the market?

Util to view memory usage?

I haven't been able to find anything in a search, so...
Is there any way (utility?) to view what programs are eating what program memory? I'm talking about stuff that doesn't show up the in the Task List. Stock Task List has a search function for "large files" but it doesn't show what background processes are actually using up your program memory. I'd like to see where it's all going and maybe figure out something I can remove/uninstall to free up some program memory.
Try PHM Task
I like this one a little better than the average, shows alot more stuff like all the "phone" tasks that run after a call. Try it and let me know.

Thanks, loading it now... I'll report back later!
I use Memmaid http://www.dinarsoft.com/memmaid/ It shows running tasks, Services, even allows you to shutdown hidden "Today" plugins, plus lots of other things.
I just found a great one called ResInfo yesterday, gives all kinds of goodies...

Nice looks like it runs very well.
Impressive
Thats how my phone works to =) smooth and nicely =)
very impressive indeed!
Very very impressive!
Now you can pretty much guess that there is dedicated RAM for the 3D chip on that device...
Awesome, now we got the best of both worlds
Anyone who has this applied on their Xperia... can you tell if it is easy to disable Touch Flo 3D? or uninstall it?

yes to disable start>settings>personal>today untick tf3d
not tried uninstalling it, cant see why you'd want to its fantastic!
i wouldn't be uninstalling - after i do get it - but just wanted to know if it is possible to disable. Thanks.
is everyone installing this to their device or storage card? the TF3D app is rather large.
is there a difference to installing to the device or storage card in terms of speed? i'd assume running it off the device would be faster, but maybe so minute that it's not even noticeable? i have never noticed a decrease in speed of apps running off the storage card, but apps i use very often, i always install to the device over storage card.
also, if your spare memory is full, will applications run slower?

We have huge amounts of space, dont even think about trying it on the storage card!
I have this and quite alot of other apps on my X1, I have 131 mb of free storage and on average 125mb of free ram! there's only two apps I run off my storage card, and mainly 'cos the maps are there.

Am new to android (x10 my first android phone) - few questions & somtimes slow UI:(

Am new to android (x10 my first android phone) - few questions & somtimes slow UI
Hey guys,
Xperia X10Just want to ask a couple of questions about this phone if anybody has the knowledge to help me out
Sometimes Slow UI
Ok, I have a lot of apps, on my phone. SD Card has 4512MB Free from 7552MB & my Internet Memory has used 351MB out of 465MB , according to my widgets :/ Im the type of person who saves EVERYTHING to my SD card, which makes me think that All of my internal Memory on my phone is used solely on installed apps due to the fact that 1.6 cant save apps to SD. Nt sure if this is the reason.
Anyway....
I have Advanced Task Manager, I have slected a few apps to be excluded from the auto shutdown of apps, these are,
TimeScape Provider
Timescape Plug-in M...
Mediascape Plug-in ...
Timescape Plug-in M... (Again)
MediaScape Plug-in (Again)
Sonyericsson,learningclient
Timescape (tm)
Home++
Beautiful Widgets
Internal Memory Wid
SD Card Memory Widge
Data counter widget
Advanced Task Manage...
I want my phone to have as much memory as possible. Am not to sure whether I have excluded too many things ???? or excluded things that do not need to be excluded from the auto shutdown feature.
But even, after killing all open apps (but the above). My phoness Home++ screen is somtimes sluggish... other times its fine and sometimes sluggish. Not sure why.
Turn On Phone & ALL APPS startupAnother question is that, when i turn on my phone, as soon as i push the Widget of the advanced task manager to kill all open apps, but the ones excluded it says, killed 40+ Apps. Why are so many apps open on my phone???
Do widgets have to be excluded from the list for them to work on the homescreen?
Another question i have is that do all my widgets have to be excluded from the advanced task manager list to make them work?
Thanks everyone
home++ doesnt run very good on my x10 either. very laggy
I have it open now, set to 5 screen's its working great really smooth, but for some reason, when i try again later it will be slow ??
Best suggestion I ever followed was to deinstall task manager completely.. my phone runs much better now than it did before.. Because Android is Linux based it will always hold things in memory until it's almost full (there's always a bit kept empty).. The reason is does this is because the apps in memory are likely to be the ones you'll use again and therefore it is quicker because it doesn't have to start them up.. if you try to load up something new then it will bump something that's not being used to create the space - theory being that empty memory is wasted memory..
Try it.. it worked for me.

Apps2SD on Froyo kills apps with widgets.

I am talking about the standard Froyo implementation, not a custom one.
I just noticed this. Move an app that has a widget, like Pandora to SD and the widget is no longer available and can't be re-selected. Even moving Pandora back to the phone memory did not restore the widget. Had to uninstall the app and reinstall it back to the phone to get my widget back.
So if an app has a widget that use, can't move that to the SD card...great!
This is a known limitation of the A2SD that Froyo uses. To get the widget back, copy the program to phone memory again and restart the phone.
Yes they even cautioned developers against implementing that feature to apps which have constant background process or widgets.
Anyway you've probably did the 'setInstallLocation' trick to move the app to sd. Which is not recommended if you don't know what apps are perfectly okay to move to sd.
Double post
Actually the Pandora devs have allowed it to be moved to SD. It's probably nice for people who use it without the widget, but they should warn the widget users not to do it.

Personally I like the choice, although perhaps a warning when starting Pandora for the first time when installed on SD would be appropriate.
Ah didn't know that... since I'm not in the US and pandora's only for the US. Oh well.
Google's implementation seems only to fail against the apps2ext version... it seems much better.
I really hope gingerbread copies the separate partiition of cyanogen and just adds encryption.

[Q] Widgets problem with froyo

Hi guys
I have this problem after froyo update...When I move some app to sd card or revers my UI reloads all over like when turns on phone and some widgets like message and weather widget doesnt work well. I f reset my phone but same again. Is there any solution???
Yes, move your apps with widgets back to internal memory. It's a bug or something, devs even warn you about in their app descriptions.
I dont have any app or widgets on screen that are in sd card...
