improve power of wifi
I don't think this is possible because this might be hardware and not software related
change battery setting
On my TyTn you can go to settings, connections, wireless lan, power mode tab and set the battery to either conserve power of give better wifi performance
My univseral has this option to but at the most power is very low at power. is there any registry trick for that is really important to me

volume key overrides keylock

I'm using an out the box Orange Touch HD (rom - 1.19.61.1 WWE)
I have found that the volume key still works even when the keylock is active.
I have used HDTweak already for other things and couldn't see anything relating to this. also searched forum to no avail (maybe not well enough )
Does anyone know of a way to fix this as it clearly seems to be an oversight.
Thanks in advance.

At a guess, i think its meant to be like that so you can adjust the volume if you are using it as a music player without having to unlock the phone. Does it affect you when you use the phone? (sorry i don't know how to help but I just thought I'd add my opinion)
thanks for the reply. i understand what you are suggesting but if i press the volume key then by default it adjusts the ringer volume and not the system volume. This is a problem as when its in a pocket i have already had more than one situation where I have gone to get the phone out and without realising, turned the ringer to silent.
I have a related difficulty... Hope you don't mind me adding to this thread rather than setting up a new one...
If my phone (Touch HD on ROM 1.56.405.1) is PIN-locked and I receive a call, I'm unable to change the in-call volume without telling the caller to wait while I unlock the phone and alter the volume... Is there any way of allowing the volume keys to work in this situation without having to unlock? I've search high and low for an answer or some suitable app to handle this.
Thanks.
Sorry - just done another search in these forums and have seen some similar questions and responses... I'll take a look there.

Hi,
I tried using the volume keys when the device was locked, you can indeed adjust the ringer volume whilst the device is locked, although if you try doing this after you switch the screen off by pressing the top power button, pressing the volume keys has no effect then.
Providing the screen is off, you shouldn't have any problems switching your phone to silent unintentionally .
Just thought I mention this.
it's a known problem that regards standard windows mobile locking system. Only solution is using another locking program (s2u2, pocketscreen, touch lock pro, lockmelite and so on). There are on this forum aplenty.
regarding to the other problem with PIN and incall volume i am not really sure but again iirc it's a winmo default locking "feature".
strange...
When I use the keylock (long press endcall-button), my volume keys won't work.. even when the screen is on.
This has been on my stock rom (1.14 NLD), new stock rom and on Dutty's 3.3 XT...

Only wakeup with power button

Hi
Sorry if it was discused before but I didnt find anything.
How can I configure the device to wakeup ONLY if the power button is pressed?. I cant find the option in this device...
Thanks
Hi Daniel, nice to see you migrating to HD2. Here's a discussion about this problem, for some reason it's in the Programs section. AFAIK there's no solution, and there's certainly some work to do in making this device behave reasonably with the hardware keys. HTC seem to have done some very quirky things in the key driver department. With regard to this specific issue I'm afraid they enabled wakeup on any key because there's no power key really... The End key hooks will not work in Standby mode, so my hypothesis is that in order to turn on the device they didn't bother to write a proper driver, but simply force this wake-on-any-key Windows feature.
Well, its a pitty. We will ve to do something about it...

Tmobile-USA volume remap not working?

I'm trying to remap the volume to d-pad up & down (mostly for book reading).
I'm using the version of AEPlus I just got off the web - and after a reboot the keys still do the normal volume control. I also tried voldpad with the same lack of results.
Anyone able to get the volume keys to remap, or are they hard locked?
Oh - using AEButtonsplus version 2.6.6.2. If possible I'd like to confirm one way or another before I write the developer.
No luck with remapping yet, but I'm trying a solution to pass on in case someone else hits this thread on a search:

Gpad. Turn your accelerometer into a d-pad by tilting it to turn the pages. I'm using the switch option for my reader, which means it will only turn 1 page when you tilt it until you put the unit back into level area (so it won't turn 50 pages when you tilt).
Will mess around and see how well this works!
I am also interested in getting voldpad working on the US HD2.
Doh, didn't see the date of the OP, silly me
