Hi, Ive been trying to share files between my workstation laptop and the HD2. I can transfer files between computers through wifi but not with HD2.
I tried VxUtil to make some tests. Apparently, I can ping nothing but the router Ip. My laptop cannot ping HD2 and vice versa ( filewall off ).
I need to share files between my Leo and my workstation through Wifi. I am using Resco 2010b. I remember It was possible with my old devices ( Himalaya, BA...etc.) Anybody knows what I'm missing? here's a small description below if it helps.
Thanks.
this is what you need I believe
http://www.julien-manici.com/windows_mobile_wifi_remote_access/
its just one way though ( download to/from laptop )
It's still in beta, but file upload/download works decent
if you find anything else, please do post it here

The problem is that the HD2 is not responding to ping but connecting fine to the internet so with Resco it did not work

Hi,
your issue interests me, as some of my users seem to have the same problem.
I have a HD2 too and I'm very surprised that even a ping doesn't respond on your device!
please answer to my post in this thread:

I know it's really weird. As if ICMP echo was blocked on the HD2.
You guys can ping your HD2 ?

Use Total Commander on your HD2. You go to 'Plugins\Lan' and add the connection parameters to your computer there. Then you can perform all the usual file operations through the new connection.

Dude, I did. I tried Resco, Total Commander and more stuff. I cannot communicated with my HD2 through Wifi. It is not accepting inbound connections. Like if a firewall on the HD2 is blocking everything but there is no firewall. I cannot ping the HD2. It does not respond. However the HD2 can ping the gateway.
Weird isn't it? on HD it was fine.
hi,
i have a similar setup here, and i can ping the hd2 from the pc and vice versa without problems.
so you say internet works fine and you can brose it with the hd2 via the wlan connection!?. that means your hd2 became the correct ip/dns/default gateway settings via dhcp from the router, or have you manualy setup the ip stuff?. hmm im sorry but i have no real idea then.
well, you can always put up a ftp server on the computer and access it through resco that way

Yep, the alternative way. Still pretty weird you know, HD2 is not visible.

very weird
did you buy it through your network operator? does it have a ROM customized by your network operator? that would explain why I don't have this issue with mine, since it is an HTC rom. Maybe some network operators put a restriction to avoid incoming connections on 3G, and maybe this restriction applies to WIFI connections too ...

how is that possible?
could it be a language issue?
I mean, I have a french (SIM free too) rom, so we don't have exactly the same rom...
that's the only difference I can see between our two devices.
did HTC do a mistake with your the regionalization of your rom? I heard that a new official HD2 rom is coming soon, maybe this will solve the issue (but I highly doubt about that since nobody seems to be aware of this issue, and this issue affects some HTC devices for years...)

I have an email id at my own domain which uses ports 1010 and 2525 (pop3 and smtp respectively). However I cant find out a single way to change the ports on my Xda II Mini from the default 110 port. Any suggestions or working programs? Any kind of advice or help or programs (paid and free) preffered.
mmm that's the same thing i need..... need to set the smtp port 25 to 2525 cause my provider is blokking port 25.
if you have any luck than please let me now
Look for pop3 in your registry, the port value is right beneath it in the same section. Couldn't find the smtp port.

mmmm damm it doenst work on my tmobile mda vario... still using the smtp.gprs.....
I've upgraded my Vario with the tmobile
ROM VERSIE 1.6.2.2.NLD ( I had the ROM VERSIE 1.3.2.3.NLD) and now it works for 1 smtp account. The other one doens't. That one still goes trough smtp.gprs....tmobile
strange thing is that there are 2 accounts on my vario that connect to the same smtp server with the same settings (tripple checked it.) one is working like a charme and the otherone.....smtp.gprs.tmobile.....
But never the less. It works for one. so maby the next upgrade it will work for both (or more)
Hi guys,
I have the XDA Neo for a couple of days, I really love the device, and everything works fine (not counting the many hours until I finally got it to sync with my laptop), however one last thing remains to be done - to finally get on the internet using WiFi. I'm experiencing the following problem:
I can connect to the Access Point in my home, however, I can't open a single page, nor does Skype connect. The access point uses MAC-Filtering, but my MAC has been entered in the table and I do get a valid IP-adress. I'm not sure if it is the correct MAC though, but it should be, I took it form Settings->Connections->Wireless Lan *Second tab. When I open IE and enter a web page (google or anything) address it displays "searching" in the status bar, and after a while sais that the page cannot be opened. I tried the WLAN on campus at my university, and still can't get in, I know I need a vpn client, but without it I still should at least be redirected to an info page, as it happens with my laptop when vpn is not activated. On campus IE remains with "opening" in the status bar, but no page is displayed even after around 10 minutes of waiting...
So I'm wondering if it is something software, or could it be a hardware issue? Any help would be appreciated!
Greets,
Boyan
Really, no idea? I'm still experiencing the same problem...
mmm.. well I can't say for sure what your problem is, but i can take an educated guess... maybe you set one of your connections to use a proxy? if i recall correctly when you want to use the o2 flat you have to set up a proxy, this may very well be the cause of your problem! you also might wanna try out to delete all connections you set up already...
please let me know if i pointed you in the right direction.
Hi Dater,
Thanx for the reply! There's no proxy set up on any of the connections I have tried, and I have tried deleting them numerous times, without change. The thing is, I do receive a valid IP adress, but never get any page opened... I use the same settings on my laptop, and can surf the net just fine..
Thanx anyways!
Greets,
Boyan
Can you see the windows network and your other pc's? Use something like Resco file explorer to map a drive.
Problem solved . Actually Dater's post pointed me towards it, I'm not sure if he meant the same thing I did, but definelty got me thinking. The deal was that
Start->Settings->Connections->Connections->More and then Properties was set to o2Wap, changing it to ISP solved the problem. Anyways, it is fuctioning now, thanx a lot for the help
Cheers,
Boyan
Of course, that is exactly what I meant!
I was just not able to properly express my thoughts since English is not my native tongue hehe... (that's always a good excuse!)
Bin auf jedenfall glücklich dir weitergeholfen haben zu können!
Have a wonderful day!
I suppose it was I who misunderstood what you said . I thought that the proxy settings should be somewhere in Netzwerkkarten or Drahtlos, but they were somewhat, mmm, hidden, or at least I had some trouble finding them easily (fun thing is, I am a communications technologies student, lol ). Anyways, it works like a charm now.
Also nochmal viellen Dank, speziell an Dater!
? help, wlan problem ?
Hallo,
i am in Germany too and i have a similar problem with o2 neo (Prophet):
my WLan works only one time!? This means e.g. in IE, i see the first website, but i cannot see any next links/websites. In order to procede to the next page i have to switch wifi off and again on. I use a home wlan-connection WPA-PSK with TKIP.
Thanks for your help

Hi guys,
I have an Imode subscription with BASE (it's a Belgian network), but with imode your traffic is only allowed over the standard HTTP ports (80 and 443). So no other applications for me.
The desktop version of msn allows me to connect over http and so I was wondering if there is a application which allows me to do the same on windows mobile (6), or maybe there's another sollution?
Thanks in advance

Hi MRSnowFlake,
I am a Belgian Base user too, why not using a full data plan with base ? They now cost the same price as Imode : 6EUR > 10Mb, this would solve your problem.
If you still want to use imode, and if you understand French, find on this site good hints : http://mobisit.blogspot.com/

it's the best and sponsorised by Belgacom maybe it's usefull for you.

Dit you know how i can configure my network configuration for Base, in each time i do a soft reset it ask me for a network wizard i don't understand why.

But I got ping only if use ping from router (telnet to router, than ping android device)! I playing with it and it is priority high for me, if I found fix, I will post here!

echo 1 > /proc/sys/net/ipv4/ip_forward
busybox iproute flush table main
busybox iproute flush table wifi
iptables -F

- disconnect wifi and then connect
If not working first time try again until get it working
