Having returned back from using an iphone for a couple of years I'm struggling with some basic windows functionallity.
Using both browsers I enter a search such as XDA and a page is displayed as normal showing the search results. If I click on any of the links I get a Google reformatted page not the original. Is there a way to disable Google intercepting my requests and just display the otiginal web page?
Click on the 'Classic' link at the bottom of a result page from Google.

My fone bookmarks wont access my facebook profile anymore. Any address starting with www.facebook.com Keeps clicking over to
x.facebook.com or something and saying Page can't be found, showing underlined text that I think should be links but aren't to the mobile and standard site...
Do I have a virus or something?
will the page load at all? because x.facebook.com is the android optimized page. if it loads, log in, then scroll down to the bottom of the page. where there is 2 small links that you can click,
1 is the facebook mobile format
2 is the real standard facebook.
Ah. Weird that it never did that before. Have had a G1 since last year and a magic for about 6 wks and not done that before, I've always been able to browse the full site.
When I get the page, I can see log in, Standard and mobile underlined but nothing o the page works...
Hate Facebook apps as they never let me do what i want/need to do.
This facebook app looks like a winner, not sure if it is available yet though:

I have been having the same issue.
It only happens on profile pages, the rest of Facebook works fine. Same issue on G1 using JF 1.51 and Dude's cupcake. Now using MyTouch 3G same results.
I guess its a Facebook issue rather than an Android one.
I normally use the full site option for Facebook since I hate that iphone wrapper or any of the mobile sires (wish I could permanenty disable the loading of mobile versions of sites) but since us facebook issue started the full site link is disabled on profiles.
I receive my Gmails via push on my HD and this includes facebook etc
When i clicked on a link in an email before, it would open up m.facebook.com even though the link was showing www.facebook.com/blahblahblah
Now however, it opens the full webpage which takes twice as long and i cant do a thing with it when it opens.
Is there anyway to set mobile email links or opera to open the mobile web version?? When i click opera on its own and open m.facebook.com it works fine.
Any suggestions??
Thanks,
Matt
i dont know what i did but when i open my browser (any and all browser), google search page load up. I install new and different browser and google search page load up on it too. On the web address it say "google.com/m?client=ms-{CUD}&source=android-home-hotseat". Any suggestion to get rid of this?
Go into settings and change your homepage. Set it to whatever you would like, www.yahoo.com or facebook or whichever.

nope i dont think it is that easy. Even if i install a new browser, it pops up as the first page. i have not even mess with the settings. Opera startpage is default screen. sprint browser is sprint.com as default, yet google pops up grrr!
Is this an isolated occurrence ? am i the only one having this issue?
Hi,
I got my galaxy note upgraded to ICS 4.0.3 recently.
I am facing a weird problem with my default internet browser when it comes to google website.
I access google website (www.google.com) and it automatically gets into the mobile site version as normal.
I type anything in the search like (yahoo) and it gets me the suggestions like ( Yahoo, Yahoo mail, Yahoo finance , etc.), beside every suggestion there is an arrow "used to write the web suggestion in the search area if needed" .. till this moment everything is normal.
But, when I try to press on the web suggestion to go directly to it, it does nothing. for example, when i press on (yahoo mail) the page doesn't act and still it stays in the original google site. I tried to use dolphin browser and it doesnt have the same problem.
I have resetted the default browser to its default, deleted the cache and the data... but it didn't help.
Please, let me know if anyone faced the problem and knows a fix.
Thanks alot,
Gano

you can try setting your browsert to te desktop version. This being done by going to browser, then pressing menu button, then select teh 'desktop view' check box. See what happens when you do that.
Assuming I've unerstood your issue correctly ...
you need to press on the arrow, NOT on the suggested text with which it is associated. Once you do that, the corresponding text gets automatically filled into the google search field and you can then hit the magnifying glass (or done on keyboard) to send the search query.
Thanks jeffs... I tried the desktop view but it didnt work...

found some one with the same problem
here is the same problem

When im inside the facebok application on my galaxy s 4, when I tap on an external link i.e. funnystuff24/7 it will navigate me to my internet browser then it will come up with an error message advising "please visit from your mobile phone! This page is made to work for mobile devices!".
I AM USING MY MOBILE DEVICE
I cannot fathom why this isnt working.
Troubleshooting I have tried so far:
- Deleting and Re-installing the application.
- Changing the default browser settings for facebook in case it was a browser issue
- tried requesting the desktop site wouldnt display.
- cleared data and cache both from facebook and the browser am using
- have used my friends samsung galaxy note 1st gen, logged her out of the mobile app for fbook and logged myself in tapped on the exact same link and it loaded just fine.
so all these had no success, it is clearly and issue with my phone but I really cant think what.
If you have any advice for me on this matter it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
