I have a mt3g I have ran cyan, some hero roms, and now have settled on dwang, but I have been on the verge of flashing eugene's eclair rom but he says in the instructions that "A. You must have the Danger SPL Installed 1.33.2005 or any Eng SPL above."
so ive been digging around, but am still a little blurry.
So correct me where im wrong.
1 a modded spl creates or uses less internal memory, depending on the rom?
2 it can be flashed just like a rom(through recovery)
3 you have to flash the spl, then flash a higher version of the rom that you are on right now.
so my questions are,
what are the advantages/disadvantaged?
should i flash a new spl? do i need to? will i need to?
which spl should i use?
so to flash a new spl; i am on dwang 1.13, with only a fat32 part, so if i format the card, put dwang 1.12, flash to dwang 1.12, boot into dwang, put a spl and dwang 1.13 on the card, reboot to recovery, flash the spl then flash dwang 1.13?
Thanks for the help

I got the latest SPL from http://code.google.com/p/sapphire-port-dream/ and flashed successfully, but now it just has the screen where it says "T-Mobile G1" and doesn't go any farther. Did I screw something up? I have the latest radio update if it matters.
Did you wipe after? Hold down Home+Power or Home+Camera, can you get into the bootloader or recovery window? If not... well let's just not go there yet.
The installation of a new SPL repartitions your phones internally memory. You must reinstall whatever ROM you want after a new SPL installation.
Yes you must reinstall your Rom must be reinstalled to boot. As usual .update.zip to sdcard....
I just got a new G1, but ive rooted my other G1's before but im just asking. normally i use Cyanogens method of rooting but at the point of me flashing his Lastest ROM, can i just flash the Eclair 2.1 instead? And for the SPL, instead of CYanogens HARD SPL, cant i just flash the DangerSPL instead aswell?

well first you have to update the RADIO THEN SPL (dont do it unless you already have, otherwise you will BRICK) then, just flash a recovery image, boot into recovery, wipe, wipe ext partition, and flash. YOU FLASH THINGS THE SAME WAY, IT DOESNT MATTER WHAT ROM YOU ARE FLASHING.
hi im very confused with tread how to make w7 working on hd2
becose i allready read many times how to but still confused
what is a problem i have stock rom with spl 3.0.3 and radio 2.15.50.14

can someone tell me which steps i can do with my stock rom and spl 3.0.3 radio 2.15.50.14
thank you sory for my english
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=611433
hspl and spl 3.03 is not compatible....uninstall hspl, then downgrade your wm 6.5 rom to an older stock rom with spl 2.10 or lower.... even spl 1.42 is ok..(get the rom specific for your region)..then flash hspl and magldr
i will explaine a litle
i have stock rom with spl 3.0.3 also i have stock rom with spl 1.66
when i flash stock rom with spl 1.66 and after when i try to flash hspl 2.08 i have problem after flash hspl my htchd2 random restart and not boot sometime boot but there is some problem i can see. if i flash stock rom with spl 3.0.3 then i can flash just hspl4 with this hspl i think i cant flash w7 rom
so question is with my stock rom spl 1.66 or 3.03 how to flash hspl 2.08 and magldr 1.13 to prepare my htchd2 for w7 rom. is it posible i flash stock rom with 1.66 and directly flash hspl 2.08 or should i upgrade firt spl to2.08 and then flash hspl2.08.
thank you very much
do not try to put hspl2.08 on spl3.03....it causes errors....do a task29first, then install the official rom with 1.66spl and then install hspl 2.08 and magldr
Ok guys... I installed magldr and partitioned to install an Android rom.
Suppose I want to reverse and partitions and remove magldr all together?
What should I do? I got HSPL 2.08. I would need to update to HSPL 3.03, and then flash the stock rom, and it all would be done, correct?
Thanks
get correct stock rom, flash it from sd card. nothing else needed.
Thanks =p

1. It's MAGLDR, not MAGDRL
2. You need HSPL2.08 for MAGLDR, not 3.03
This is the way of install NAND Android ROM; You must flollow this sequence;
first check your device if it is 2.08.HSPL,
1. do task29
2. install radio rom 2.15.50.14
3. install magldr 1.13
4. do recovery 5.0.2.6(or clk)
5. Format your sd, create ext3(or ext4) partition
6. do clear cache and dalvik cache.
7. Choose your android ROM .zip file and copy it to your sdcard, load into magldr recovery and enjoy...
and this is the tools that you will need.

Task29 isn't necessary (usually it does nothing to help), and there's no point installing MAGLDR then installing cLK right afterwards.

AFAIK, nothing different other than the fact that HSPL4 supports flashing from stock SPL 3.03 (i.e. Stock ROM 3.14) to a HSPL version (inc. HSPL 3.03)
