Skype, Yahoo, etc. WITH VOICE trough ear speaker (just as it should)!!! - Touch HD General

I hope this was not mentioned before, i searched but not very deep because i was very unpatient to let you know about this
A friend of mine showed this today to me, it is a chat multinetwork client, it works with Skype, Yahoo and many other networks and it is FREE also. and it works trough ear speaker too
http://www.nimbuzz.com/en/mobile/pc/download#
Touch HD is not mentioned, i got the Touch Pro version and worked perfect so far (only tested with yahoo).

Very nice find!
I was looking for a client that integrates all my IM-clients, including Skype, for quite a while and never found anything useful - but this looks really great!

fring does that too

Did Fring always support Skype!?!? I remember testing Fring a while ago and I'm almost certain it didn't support Skype back then... but I might be wrong!
Thanx for the tipp though!

Instant Messagers

are there any free IM's for yahoo messager that will alert you when you get an instant message?
mmmmm Instant massages.
Did you try Fring?
I am using Palringo. It's free and does some nice things, can quickly capture and send a picture (url to it), send voice files.
It also supports Google Talk, Hotmail (i think?).
goto beejive.com and try jivetalk. its a little buggy alpha but still pretty good.
the best one is Agile. it does all the messaging services, it has been around a LONG time, no bugs, very trimmed down but supports video, voice, and it's free...here's a link: http://www.agilemobile.com/

i must have downloaded an already regg'ed CAB file then, cause ive used mine for over 2 months.
#10, thanks for the info on Slick. I've been using it for a few days and I like it.
Best of all, for me at least, it supports custom status messages and "Idle" time on Yahoo.
Thanks again, I didn't come across it when I was searching for IM clients.
Id use slick but it has problems with away messages and does not play nice with clients such as trillian or pidgin. People dont receive your messages at all. IM+ seems to be the best solution. I tried jivetalk it crashed too much. Palringo was okay but did not support tabbed ims . My only gripe with IM+ is the screen flashes as you hit enter during typing. Almost like flickering. Slick or the others didnt do that.
But IM+ feature wise is very good, and has a today plugin for listing new received ims.
IM+ .Parlingo. Both very good programs.

my one gripe with IM+ is that when the person you are talking to is using the "official" AIM client it will randomly lock up when they send you a messege
i love that i can do voice chat over agile. it rocks. glad i downloaded a free version on accident, lol. works like a charm.

I've been using slick 0.38. I can explain to you how to uninstall .42 and install .38(it involves a reg edit). PM me if you want, or someone reply here if there's enough interest and I'll write up a quick doc for it.
On a more serious note. I am using Fring. But memory consumption is a problem.
Does anybody out there know if there is a way for you to be offline, and shown in your buddies contact list but in away mode, and then when they send you a message maybe it pops up a message on their contact list saying that you are currently away but if they would like to page you that the program would call your phone with an sms message to jump online and log into your IM program?
Confused yet? Me too.

I have uninstalled Fring and am now using Palringo. Much happier. The memory footprint is way smaller. I like the threaded messages and the ability to send recorded voice messages and photos thru IM. I dont use Skype so Fring is just more program than I need.

Skype fix !!!

Hi,
I just found fix.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=396829
run the program before skype and dont close it.
now sound will work from rigt speaker.
a good news for me.
Have you tried Fring? You get to use your Skype account as well as your sip accounts. I use it and luv it a lot. Works a charm when you're on WiFi.
Have you tried it? Does it work. The thread you posted only had 2 replies, not feedback on how it worked and it's from June.

Fring has the same issue as Skype, it plays trough the speakers instead of the normal "ear speaker".
only to confirm it works as it should
I tested it with Skype and also with Fring, on both the sound comes out over the earspeaker.
regards cHarOn
Works fine on Skype!
Tested running fix then Skype: OK

VOIP/SIP for HD2

Anyone get VOIP apps to work on their HD2? I have been researching and downloaded audioroute 1.20 and WM6VOIP, but what worries me is those files are rather old. I am considering flashing Laurentis' 4.0 (includes VOIP drivers), but I am not keen on the icons, so I'd like to test with Kumar's 1.6. I wonder if I can use Kumar with the old cabs I found to start this process. My goal is to use my magicjack SIP account with my phone, which would really be nice in other countries with wifi connections. Any advice? I will post feedback as I go through my testing on this, but a confirmed setup would help. Thanks.
edit:
I just found this thread - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=574521. Looks very promising. Will post results.
i mange to do setup after following the link. i can receive incoming calls over voip but unable to make outgoing call. are u able to make outgoing call?
I'm using fring. It works but it is as ugly as hell! Please let us know if you could make outgoing calls work.
At work, but found this link that seems real promising:

i tried your link same here also i can receive incoming call but outgoing call is not working.
I installed this stuff on NRG 11 Apr 23554, and it broke my connections (data, wifi), and I couldn't uninstall it, so I'm planning my next move. I have tried Laurentis, didn't work (don't like menu icons anyway). Tried some things with Kumar 1.6, so far no good.
To be clear, I am trying to use my magicjack SIP account on my HD2.
So far the incompatibilities I have been running into is with having to disable Sense to see the damn internet calling tab, and missing/incompatible voip drivers (I've found like 3 different ones through searching). It's gonna be a crapshoot of combinations, but hopefully I'll figure it out soon, while keeping Sense active! I may break down and try one of these softphone apps, because right now I'm just trying get the phone dialer to work.
i was able to see internet tab in sense ui with out any hick. i have tried portsip as well that is also not working.
PortSip works
PortSip definetely works on stock ROM. At least5 with "Betamax" family like voipraider.com
http://www.portsip.com/downloads.htm
I have native VoIP cab which worked for me on HTC HD. Did not test it yet on HD2.
works great

[SOLVED] A clean, working Skype client

Hi Guys,
I've just switched network provided and left three (uk). I used to use the 'Skype on 3' application and I'm struggling to find a replacement app for this that would work on my new provider - using normal data.
Fring seems to be missing Skype
Nimbuzz takes light years to get skype to connect
I just want a clean, working Skype app - just like the 3 one.
Any suggestions?
Thanks!

there's no skype for android besides three version ... i just got old skype lite beta to chat - but you're not able to make calls with it
errr how come? the skype on 3 app works great to be honest.
can't it be modified to work with any provider?
there are rumors the skype makers are working on a fully usable skype version for android - but that's just it ... don't have any further info on this
i have a discontinued skype app, that calls a landline in the uk and then allows all interantyional and skype calls to be routed, basically the same as the 3 one but witha different access number.
if you search the forums you should find the apk, otherwise pm me
Also there is Nimbuzz which can connect to skype (also allows skype calls to be made) and several other networks like yahoo, ICQ etc.

Is anyone using voip software like nimbuzz or skype ??

well, because it's NOT WORKING
searching on internet i found this

and
http://forum.skype.com/index.php?showtopic=725723&st=0
OMG this RUINED the phone for me
You can download the new Skype app in Android Market!
I used skype and never liked it-try this software this worked for me sipvoipsdk.com
Skype works good on the Flipout, the only problem is that it doesn't set the screen orientation correctly.
yeah but did you try a voice call ? worked or you ?
tried skype, fring, nimbuzz none work... always the same problem, other person can't hear me...
Has anyone used any other SIP apps? I've tried linphone and sipdroid to use an SIP account my ISP gave me. With both apps I had problems. I could call fine, but when installed I couldn't receive any SMS, once uninstalled I would receive 10 sms at once...
I'm using handcent SMS btw,
Had anyone else had this problem?
I'm using CSipSimple with total success in Motorola Flipout
The CSipSimple is easy to config, just put the login name, password and sip address
In Brazil i"m using voipalobrasil.com.
it seems SIP works, but i doesn't replace softwares like skype, i want call computers not phones
i'll send a email to motorola
The latest spype works on the Flipout. I tried it today, and the test call records my voice (which didn't happen in previous versions)

It happens with me too. the test call records my voice, but when I try to call someone they can not hear me
Deep
Try holding and resuming the call (on both sides), that worked for me.

Hey AndiDeepBlue
Have you had any problems with receiving sms once CSipSimp was installed? As I have said before, I've been having problems receiving them when I installed either linphone or sipdroid. I could send sms (although it stayed in pending status but they would still receive my msg) and I would receive them once I uninstalled the SIP app, or sometimes just randomly from 5 to 15hrs after the msg was sent to me...
Haven't had a chance to try skype yet, will do that tonight, but I read on the skype forum that another way to make it work is to initiate the call when the keyboard is closed and then open it.
According to tekki
http://forum.skype.com/index.php?showtopic=725723&st=20&
...After some experimenting I found out that it seems to work if you activate your call with closed keyboard and flip out the keyboard afterwards. If the call is originated with open keyboard then the mic does not record anything.

btw, I'm using handcent for sms.

I did not use Handcent for sms.
I installed Skype from the Market. And I plugged the headset. Usually I have to play with the flipout to open and close, and also when activating/deactivating the "loud speaker" it will enable the microphone on headset/mic. This happened when I made a call to a fixed phone.
Yeah, Skype is great for casual social interactions with family and friends. But for business conferences, I need more security, so I use RHUB, which works from behind my firewall (instead of outside of it). It also provides free audio conferencing.
