Bootloader version: I9020XXKA3
Baseband version: I9020XXKD1
Build number: GRJ22
Android version: 2.3.4
When i go into Settings in Android the IMEI number is unknown.
I'm trying to revert back to the Stock ROM, but i'm having problems, because when I try and boot in recovery, I get an error from the boatloader saying no boot or recovery img found.
is there a way to flash a full rom with fastboot? Or why can't I boot into recovery anymore?
If you don't have a copy of your EFS folder you are out of luck.
Besides that restoring an IMEI is mostlikely a punishable crime in your country (changing is in almost every country, restoring in most).
I'm trying to restore from stock via the one_click_method, but it fails trying to write the radio partition.
>$ fastboot-mac flash radio radio.img
sending 'radio' (15232 KB)... OKAY
writing 'radio'... FAILED (remote: Write Fail)
So I tried to erase the radio partition but I get this error:
>$ fastboot-mac erase radio
erasing 'radio'... FAILED (remote: No Allowance on This Partition)
I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong here.
Thanks,
@rentaric, I don't understand? Isn't the IMEI number just a number burned into the hardware like a mac address?
I thought maybe I flash the wrong radio or something and that is why the IMEI isn't showing up.
Well that's strange if I can't ever have a IMEI number...
You can have it jtag which will restore the imei. There's a guy on YouTube who does it many times. Mobile tech videos is the channel name.

Yes and no, it's what identifies your phone. Eg a criminal fakes your phone's IMEI, police gets hold of the criminal's IMEI, which is basically yours, checks with carriers who is the owner of that IMEI, you are in trouble initially. To prevent ppl from doing that in the first place it is illegal to change the IMEI of your device, some countries added more strict laws on top and also don't allow restoring of (your own) IMEI.
Also carrier blacklist phones via the IMEI, eg if the phone was stolen.
I am getting the "No Sim" Error and was told that I needed the boot and bootloader from opp4, does anyone have this?
Thanks

How is flashing an older boot.img and bootloader.img going to help? There are plenty of places to find the old image file, just unzip and extract.... but don't think that's going to solve anything. Are you on the current stock .019 build?

I have tried flashing latest firmware but same problem.
Have you unlocked your bootloader, yet?
Try to unlock and reflash latest firmware then.
If yours is unlocked, please capture images of the error.
You should describe the situation that leads to this error.
I'm sorry for replying so late
No problem.
Bootloader was unlocked but now shows locked with status code 0. I think the cid partition is damaged. How can I restore it?
I haven't heard this error before, but Status code 0 means that your phone has not been unlocked yet. It's still a locked bootloader one.

Therefore, you cannot flash gpt. Please skip it, boot, bootloader and recovery. Only reflash system, modem bluetooth... and clear userdata then.
Took it to service center. They said they have to use box(jtag, octopus box etc) to repair it.
So sad

FAQs
I'm getting the "The current image (boot/recovery) have been destroyed and can not boot. Please flash the correct image or contact customer service to fix it." Error, what should I do now?
Flash the vbmeta using this command :
Code:
fastboot --disable-verity --disable-verification flash vbmeta vbmeta.img
I'm getting the "Invalid sparse file format at header magic" Error, does that mean that the images are corrupt?
No! Just ignore the error, if you get the "Finished" message it means that the image has been flashed without any issues.
Can I cross-flash images?(CN -> IN & vice versa)
Some users have reported that the images can't be flashed due to different partition sizes, proceed at your own risk!

I'm unable to understand your current situation, but if you're facing issues on locked bootloader, flashing stock .ozip should help.
If you're on unlocked bootloader, you can flash the provided images(CN variant only)

Hi, a dumb question but I have the CN Version. Can I just unlock the bootloader and then fastboot flash the EU version to switch the ROM?
