Previously clutter in this forum was not that big of a problem, we needed for major dev work, and we didn't have it. Now we have root, and serious dev work has began.
What belongs here:
1) Roms, Patches, Exploits, Code
2) News related to dev work
3) Howtos
4) Serious questions directly related to dev work
What does not belong here
1) Any question that has been asked more than twice already in our forum (use search feature, its wonderful)
2) Any question that could most likely be answered using http://www.Google.com
3) OMG THIS SUCKS threads
4) OMG THIS IS GREAT threads
5) New thread for each small feature request.
6) Fraud
7) Piracy
I am sure I will find more to add later.
In general this forum should be used for questions, answers, progress reports, and tools pertaining to development boards and non-device-specific hardware. This forum should be used for development relating to the hardware of devices and in many circumstances dealing with families of devices.
Questions pertaining to rooting and installing custom ROMs will be deleted imediately or moved to their respective device forums. No device-specific questions should be asked.
This forum is not a place to ask questions about operation or hacking of operating systems. Topics relating to bricking, bootloops, and other software related topics should not be here. Threads of this topic will be prompty deleted or removed to its specific forums.
If you want information, you must provide your own research first. Datasheets, Web-Pages, references.. If you would like a how-to JTAG or UnBrickable Mod guide be prepared to send your device or work with someone who can help.
Generally threads will be tagged with the related hardware ie... [hummingbird] [OMAP 36xx] [FSA928] or Series of related hardware [GalaxyS]. Software tools should have a descriptive tag [Source], [Tool], [Program] or [Release] and [Windows], [Linux], [Mac] or [Cross-Platform].
It is permissible to post non-original work as long as proper credit is given to the original author. The thread may be moved to general or deleted if the original author would like to take control of the discussion thread. This policy is applicable for this forum only as several tools are created during the development process of a piece of hardware and discarded, forgotten or left unsupported upon release.
Please keep in mind, this forum is for discussing hardware and methods of interface and/or modification. While the discussions may stray into specific devices, it is best to contain individual device related topics in their respecive forums.
With that said, please discuss hardware topics. It's nice to finally have a place we can go to and chat about cross-device hardware.
I think I might have posted my question in the wrong topic thread. How can I move it to it's proper place?

First of all, I want to tell you that, I absolutely agreed with what you had mentioned in this post.
Truly a serious forum to go through.
Thanks for clearcut rules!. I have been visiting XDA-Developers from more than a year. Yet, I did not get much opportunity to ask or to share. Somebody would always be there before me. This is not a disadvantage, it keeps the forum clean. I shall post only when it is crucial and relevant.
Regards

I was looking for a forum where I might be able to learn about how to move my messages erroneously posted to empty ghost town boards and it looks like I found my home. Lets get this discussion started.

REMEMBER THIS IS A DEVELOPMENT FORUM AND NOT A DISCUSSION FORUM THEREFORE PLEASE ASK YOUR QUESTIONS HERE:
Please keep device specific questions in their appropriate forums.
Please do NOT ask about any ETA's, status's or questions relating to the release date of any developments with a WP8 mod, update, or custom build.
Anything posted that is not related to WP8 will be either closed, or moved to the appropriate forums and infractions given if necessary.
Any spam will be instantly deleted.
Any unruly posters will be instantly dealt with.
Please keep the "thank you" posts and chit chat posts away from here, you can start a discussion thread in WP8 General.
Devs please PM me personally to request their threads to be added to the Sticky Roll Up Thread, with valid reasoning.
Posting questions about dev'ing and how to's should be done in the WP8 Q&A forum (link above).
REPORT ANY OR ALL INFRACTING POSTS! They will be can dealt with more swiftly if you do.
Please keep discussion of apps geared towards free apps when pulling them, signing them, and make them installable and functional. Any methods on how to do this, must be demonstrated with free or system apps from OEMs. Do not post links on where to get pirated apps, or what you pirated or you will receive an infraction or ban.
Thank you for your attention, please feel free to pm me if you have any queries regarding the above.
The below area will be used for WP8 D&H Sticky Roll up thread when things get rolling

Okay guys, it's been a bit relaxed in here up until now, but I've just had a clean up and not one single thread in this forum was in the right place. Once things start rolling in here (hopefully before too long) it can get very messy very quickly.
Remember, this forum is for development releases only. If you want to discuss something then post in General. If you want to ask something then post in Q&A. If you're releasing ROMs, tweaks, hacks etc. then post in here.
If you're unsure about something then ask first - I'm happy to answer any and all questions.
Thanks for your co-operation
Any chance for a huge cleanup? There are tons of posts about interop, making threads hard to follow.

XDA Forum Rules (excerpt):

5. Create a thread topic or post a message only once, this includes external links & streaming media.
As a large forum, we don't need unnecessary clutter. You're free to edit your message as you like, so if you do not receive an answer, revisit your message and see if you can describe your problem better. Not everyone is online at the same time so it might take a while before you receive an answer.

Always post in an existing thread if a topic already exists, before creating a new thread.
Use our search function to find the best forum for your device.
