HTC Sense: Custom Tab ? - HD2 General

Had a HD a while ago, and now moved onto a HD2 (with Iphone and HTC Hero in between!). What I would really like is the ability to add a custom tab to the list of current HTC Sense tabs. The custom tab would allow standard today items to be displayed, e.g. spb today plugins or new "widgets" similar to current tabs could be created.
I'm sure it would also make sense for HTC to publish a API to allow custom tabs to be written.

Spb 2.1 Suggestion - Notes tab - Sticky style - and more

Hey guys sorry to post a new thread but hopefully everyone can appreciate this suggestion.
Since you guys are genius when it comes developing for these devices I'll post here and not Spb.
I was hoping someone can develop a tab for spb where we can have 25% of the top screen scrollable showing the notes that have been created and the rest of the screen available to title and write notes. Sort of like a tab full of post its. I find it aggrevating that i have to locate notes to write notes. I know there may be isolated programs that perform this, but if I'm using a mobile shell that is offering integrated functionality why should we not have this.
Everything should be done from the shell. A Now screen with all the information displayed, a programs screen that is scrollable within the tab, a weather screen, a calender screen, a contacts screen, a notes screen, maybe a tasks screen, and lastly a dial pad screen.
Thanks for listening hopefully we can all band together and make something for everyone, you guys are great, btw shoutout to kareem9nba on the kaiser forums, he's making custom roms per requests, that's cool.
Thats not possible, mobileshell is very limited in adding new functions.
please post that the next time in one of the "few" moble shell threads. thank you.
lol "few"
i just wish we can all band together and create something productive instead of having to explore 10 shells that do the same thing but have bugs.
We all use a now screen, we all use contacts, we all use calender, we all use notes, we all use dialpad, and we all use the program folder. These are touch phones, that when stock are anti finger usable.
Maybe a mod can create a Windows mobile Custom Shell thread, where the only discussion is on creating that specific shell. It's possible, but i feel like everyone is off doing their own thang thang.

Feature requests - give them to me!

Hey,
I am parsing a list of feature requests for the next update on touch innovation
Basically post whatever you want to see on there to make your browsing experience easier!
Thanks
(see sig for link)
not sure if you have this already
but how about a mobile version of the site where you can
easily download the cab files to the phone
-=edit=-
Sorry you have already something similar
Keep up the good work
Yeah I do,
It will automatically re-direct you if your on your phone! But this feature is to be improved. I am also recoding the website's html to make it more cross-browser compatible!
Another feature soon to come will be "Add applications LIVE to the website" where you can add a program, choose the category and it will add it, with of course lots of security such as only cabs and zips allowed, and it will warn you when you download a "User-submitted" application, that it is liable for virus's. But each and everyone will be checked by our admin team.
Any more ideas?
Thanks
Specific descriptions of what the programs are and do. The "copy and paste" of the author's descriptions aren't always descriptive enough to figure out what the programs really do or if they're worth a try.
The names themselves are good clues, but it's limiting.
I would also suggest taking out the narrative and simply write what the programs are. For example:
HTC Home Customizer:
"Do you have a HTC phone, that has the htc today plugin? No? Ah well doesn't matter because this programs automatically downloads and installs it for you, not only that.. but it lets you customize it to the tiniest detail.
Enjoy!"
Why not just say that it "The program customizes and if needed, installs the HTC Today plugin."
One sentence that says the same thing.
Or...
iContact - Burt Edition:
"Truburt has done it again. Yet more features, including:
- Improved scroll speed
- Improved search feature
- Lots of small improvements
- Lots of bug fixes.
Enjoy!"
This should be in the features section and a description of the program (it's differences to the others) should be there.
You get the idea. There's a lot of good stuff there, but I might just be the only one that have a hard time figuring out what the new programs do. It'll be obvious to a regular user, but to someone new, it'll be hard to figure out the difference between the three... four... five? iContact programs.
On that note, I suggest removing the old versions of Burt's iContact.
And maybe put the Main Features right under the Information section.

Possible to have people-centric communication in Blackstone?

HTC announce touch pro 2 and diamond 2 with the people-centric communication function. Is its function also possible in Blackstone? Or maybe available in a cooking ROM?
this is available in duttys extreme rom 1.8, although I personally don't think it's as good as it looks (the new tf3d, not duttys rom). the people centric stuff only seems to be able to be accessed from selecting from contacts, and then selecting their messages (eg for the threaded sms view). Takes several presses and isn't intuitive. Hopefully these things reflect the fact that the devices haven't yet been released, and still need a little tweaking.
you can find duttys excellent rom here

A n00b question
What is 'People Centric Communication'? can someone please explain?
Thanks Ahead

Today Screen - new Tabs?

Hi,
I am quite new to the Iolite (as i had till the day before yesterday still a Prophet) and have to say that i am quite happy with it except that the new today screen (TouchFlo, Manila? TF2D?) is disappointing compared to HTC Home...
After doing some research on the net i found someone who added (at least) a calender tab to the Home Screen and now i would like to ask if there are people here who know if it is possible to add any custom tabs of which the content is programmable (quite like plugins for the old HTC Home. Say i made a C# app that is being run in the Tab and shows certain information or something similar).
From what i read this seems not doable although i am simply unsure about it as there is some custom(?) calender tab out there...
In the end this is the only thing i so far miss on the Iolite since HTC Home just gives me shell errors and there are things i really would like to have with only few keystrokes to see...
I don't know about custom tabs on manila(but it lacks on customization), but I can suggest you a freeware alternative to touchflo UI that can satisfy your needs and it's highly customizabe, especially if you know how to program, cause you can create plugins(if the available are not satisfy you) that meet your needs. If you're interesting take a look here:

Thanks! That thing looks exactly like what i was searching for!

HTC Hup V 1.2 (Build 2020.36209)

so here's the question :
will it be possible to mod HTC Hup ?
or ad some extra tiles/tabs to HTC Hup .
and is there someone that can tell me how sense look (is it one app or is it something like 1000 manila files)
i dont know much about it, but i assume it will be possible, anything is possible if you work at it. Sense however is one app or "hub" as they are calling it on WP7 so im not sure how it would work but i doubt it will be just manilla files, i reckon some hard coding will be needed.
I agree, someone on here will probably re-engineer them, but what's the point?
Previous versions of the Sense UI laid over (and hid) the OS, in this case it is just another app based in a WP Hub, it will have a much more minor role.
In fact from the previews I've seen in my opinion it will be pretty useless. In the past HTC used Sense UI to give glanceable info to Windows Mobile, now that Windows Phone does this from it's core, HTC have gone in a completly opposite direction by putting on an overly animation heavy interface onto a glaceable UI!!! Now it takes 2 to 3 seconds to get into the HTC hub because of all their fancy animations.
Someone may port it to non-HTC devices or copy the latest versions (going forward Sense 3.1, 3.5, etc) onto all the phone.
I'm sure the developers here are more interested in WP7 itself rather than Sense UI which has well and truley become an animation bloatware on WP7.
actually looks like MS and HTC declared that no custom home screen will be available fot WP7 phones

Hi,
There are no manila files (yet).
See post #13 in the thread:

Regards, ansar.
From a programmers point of view the Sense App on HTC's WP7 devices is just another app (although it seems to have the possibility to access more than regular WP7 apps built with the public tools (sound settings on the Surround and HD7).
HTC currently mainly uses it to add Weather and Stock-Updates as those are not part of the base OS.

Short answer no.
Long answer:
"Sense 3.0" is based on Silverlight. Which won't run on Windows Mobile 6.5 or less.

Well... it is just another App... although a WP7-App that won't run anywhere else - what I meant to say: I don't see why anyone would need this thing anyplace else, what it provides is little and could easily be done by just writing a simple App.
Thread cleaned up.
Stay On topic please.
