Annoying Internet Confirmation. - HD2 General

Hi guys,
First of all, apologies for starting a new thread, but have asked this question a number of times and still get no response!!! (Mods, if this question is ever answered, please delete this!!!)
I've searched high and low for an answer to a very simple yet annoying problem. On the internet tab whenever accessing any bookmarks I always get the "Connect to the internet" confirmation, how the hell do you disable this????
For me this is the only persistent gripe I have with my HD2, can anyone help??
Cheers
RR

Notification Fix For Cingular 8525??

Does anyone know how to fix the voicemail notification on the Cingular 8525. I egt the intiial notification and it never goes away until after I chekc them, and it's annoying the hell out of me. I would also like to thank all of you for helping me out in the ppc world. I am definitely a newb and I am learning ALOT thanks to this site. One other question, I was reading wiki and what are the benefits of installing a different ROM. I constantly see that in threads and was wandering what the fuss is about. Thanks again for all your help.
Some people have found that calling yourself and leaving a message, then selecting the notification, calling the voice mail via the msg and then deleting the message fixes the immediate problem.

Please delete this thread

Has anyone had this problem where you can't open an email by clicking on an email from the Email Tab in Manila? I can open messages by clicking on Inbox. Does anyone know if this has been fixed before? Just HR the device and don't want to do it again. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.
PLEASE DELETE THIS THREAD. THANKS.
This happens to me!!
Its already answered on here somewhere, but here it is from me to save you searching
Just press the start icon; then lock the screen
unlock it and all will be fine until the next time it happens
2 times for me in the last week this has occured
LMFAO He has a link to the wiki in his sig which includes how to search and cant search himself. Its been answered a couple of times already that i have seen and I haven't been looking for it.
Thanks for that. I actually found it. Was looking for it and already found it. Sorry for the new thread.
Does anyone trim these posts to avoid having thousands asking the same thing

hermes 8525 att win 6.1

before i ask the question i will state long time listener first time caller.... i have searched the hermes page for the answer to my question and all over xda but to no avail... basically i want to set a different ring tone for txt message notification for each individual contact is that possible ? i have searched and found programs but i cant accomplish what i need ... am i missing something
It's definitely possible for calls, but I'm not sure for texts... if you have found programs which have a thread here on xda, I recommend you to ask in that specific thread.
And as this question is not device-specific you should ask it in the Q&A forum .
I've never tried it, but I think MortRing will do this and is free.

Problem with incomming text ringtone

Rooting the pone will allow you to remove all of the bloatware, but if you don't know what you are doing you may brick the phone. I would suggest going into application manager in settings and disabling the bloatware.
Root just gives you full permissions on the files on the phone and lets you administrate the entire phone as if you were the root user on a linux system.

The best advice I can give you is to take a little time and use the "search" function of the forum to learn as much about your phone as possible. All of the questions you asked have been discussed (some several times) in detail and answered when an answer is available. Always check to see if an issue has been discussed or a question has been asked before posting it again. You will learn a lot more about your phone this way. Asking a question like, "What will ROOTING a phone benefit?" tells me that you have a lot of learning to do before you do anything to your phone. Or, you will run the risk of a brick and be right back here with a new post entitled, "Guys, Help, I bricked my phone (insert crying emoticon)..." Trust me, nobody wants that. So read and read some more...good luck.

This phone has issues with certain routers, unfortunately, there does not seem to be a fix yet. You can try to mess with your router's configuration or you can get another router. I can't remember where I've seen the latest info about this but I know it is in a couple of threads already. For bloatware removal, I recommend rooting and then getting Titanium backup from the market (worth the cost) and then use it to "freeze" the bloatware instead of removing it. There are a few lists floating around of safe to remove apps, but I just freeze them to be on the safe side. Another option is the "P" ROM in the development section. In that thread the OP makes available a "bloat removal" tool. Just make sure you read the entire thread and understand what you are doing. Good luck.
