/you may have a problem during update - "Key failure..." or something like this (for EN version). Then use RU image, extract it (use 7zip) and put EXTROM.bin and FLASH.bin in the same folder (replace)... after- enjoy/

Been trying to reinstall acer version but after following above i keep getting SKU language fail, device=1.002d.00_EN_IN
Image version=2.003.00_RU
Any ideas?

Hi,
I bought Acer S200 from francem the issue is OS language is French, i liked the phone a lot so insted of returning it want to check possibility if i can change the language to EN.
Please let me know if it is possible and how to do if possilbe.

I tried the option you have stated in your post , i have downloaded the OS image in EN but when i try to update my phone i get the message stating the OS language is not matching then the wizard shows finish btton not the next button , please suggest what to do.
My Phone OS is french i want to change it to English OS.

i Tried this as well but getting registration key error , currently the OS on my phone is S200_1.002C.00_FR.
can i downgrade my acer s200 from 2.003.01_FR_SFR to 2.003.00_FR ?

ok you put 565.bin in the same folder as the 565to5x5.exe open the 565to5x5.exe and press enter it will make a new 5x5.bin but when i flash it to my c500 it was Chinese but if you go to setting you can change to eng.
but you get less memory because of the Chinese font

I tried it on my I-mate sp3, its very slow and even was not able to change the language

I can go back to a cooked rom to the original
unpack the original rom but don't update, go to the folder where the original files are and overwrite the original ACER_EUU.exe with the hacked one. run ACER_EUU.exe and follow instructions

temporary solution
I just tested with artermis v10 with the following

steps
1) download the attachment then extract all the files to a temp folder on your desktop
2) go files folder, copy & paste EzInputSettings.exe.0804.mui then rename the new file to EzInputSettings.exe.0409.mui
3) copy all the dll files from those folder name end with .ddl to parent folder (../files). you can skip HTCSipSrvc.dll
4) now go to your device, change SIP to other. change home to titanium
5) go to /windows folder and rename those dll file with same name you modified on your desktop temp folder to xxxx.dll.old( total is 11 files)
6) copy the temp folder on your desktop to your HD2
7) use total commander to move all the files inside files folder to /windows, replace all the dll & files (must make sure no overwrite error)
8) import app.reg
9) soft reset
Finally stock rom chinese support in WWE rom
Now just waiting for a kind soul to help to convert this into cab
UPDATE: Only pinyin and stroke is working...
ABOVE SOLUTION IS UNSUPPORTED NOW

Artermis ROM is using the global version of wince.nls, thats why make this possible. Eg: we can see the 5 chinese legions in setting....

i replaced the wince.nls, but nothing happened. i still dont get the 5 chinese regions in regional settings. also, can you check if your first post method works for google maps 4.1? in google maps, under settings, speech language, there is an option for mandarin. all i get are square boxes.. it should write chinese language, in mandarin of course. any fix for this?

Maybe try the following:
- rename the existing wince.nls to wince.nls.old then copy the new one.
- inside your registry... remove this key [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\FontLink\SystemLink] then import the reg file from 1st post, if everything ok, only 5 entries will be recreated as following
"HelveticaNeue LT 35 Thin"="\\windows\\UCSH00B-gray.ttf,AR CrystalHeiU20 Bold(gray);\\windows\\tahoma.ttf,Tahoma"
"Helvetica Neue OTS"="\\windows\\UCSH00B-gray.ttf,AR CrystalHeiU20 Bold(gray);\\windows\\tahoma.ttf,Tahoma"

replacing the wince.nls directly doesn't work. You need to use it with reloadnls.exe which will have to be in the startup folder. do a search for it and you will find your answers. I used to write a thread for this as well, so you can try to search for it.

cab 1: CHT display (mingliu.ttc, pretty fonts) and input (from Samsung HK keyboard),
cab 2: same as the above but added wince.nls with Chinese regions.

i guess it depends what you want to do. If you just want to upgrade your phone, then use the update-software provided by SonyEricsson. If you want to change language from one language to an other, then you need to follow the guides in this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=665564
I think that the original poster of these cabs is mixing numbers. We have now MR2 available, not MR3!

those are no issue...l dont have any lock to extract cab files from software they provide in other thread..l just download generic uk from thred where is all reay extracted...but my native mr1 was generic en...so that is why l wait to some extract cabs from generic en
Anybody got the Transcriber.cab ? With the latest Mr2 release the handwriting is gone. To get it back, we would need that transcriber cab.

Can't be, because all roms (that i have checked) are identical except those cabfiles that specify the language-version for the device.
If this is a special-rom, then please post here the device-info. If this differs from the list of device-infos i have on track, then i'll create a custom cab that you could use for getting the same look..

Kan you please tell me how you did? i have the same problem with mine
search for a cab called oslangnl.cab or something that looks like it, install it and you can flash back to the DUTCH stock rom, if your stock rom has a different language this doesn't help you..

you can use toolsbyanper.exe to dump the original rom. you have to download barin's kitchen and get the tool from it because anper's site seem to be down.
you can search this forum but if you're lazy, just pm me your email and ill mail you the stuff. you only need the 3.x hacked RUU and also download your official rom (your language) from acer.

Flash back to Original Rom
This is very simple !
Acer will verify that the system language mach the language of the updating ROM... So, if you want to update an NL Rom to an existing EN system, it will refuse to execute it...
The trick is to modify one registry in order to make ACER think that you've installed your system in the disered language (here Dutch or NL)
So grab a Registry editor and modify HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ControlPanel\ACER\SystemInfo\Software\Language from "EN" to "NL" ... then flash to stock ROM...
I can also provide you a CAB if desired ...
Worked great with me when I did the same from EN to FR ...
