G-Sensor Calibration - HD2 General

I have the NLD (dutch) stock rom, and Im having a weird issue with the HTC G-sensor calibration tool. When I start it up, the green bubbles are in the mostleft position (instead of in the middle). If I rotate/move my device, they don't move position, they keep the same fixed position (on my HTC Touch Diamond, if I run the tool I can see the bubbles move when I rotate my device). When I calibrate the HD2 on a flat surface, and run the tool again, the green bubbles are frozen again in the wrong position.
Do I have a faulty G-Sensor (since the bubbles moved on the diamond when rotating), or is this just a bug in the ROM? Can somebody with the same ROM test it please?

Just tried mine and the bubbles move. If you press calibrate with the phone lying flat on its back and that doesnt fix it then it sounds like a fault.

Mhh.. I hope it is because you got a WWE rom and I have a NLD rom. Could someone with a Dutch rom check it, before I send back my device?
The weird thing is: Screen rotation works in Opera, etc. So if it was competely faulty chip, it wouldnt work anywhere. But it works good, only not in HTC's calibration tool ??

I have an NL rom and I don't have the issue you describe.

Oops
I have soft-resetted my phone, and now the bubbles move again! So my problem is solved Don't know what whas causing the problem (as I dont have 3rd party apps installed).
Last thing I want to say about it: How am I supposed to lay the device flat on the table, when the camera is sticking out

I was about to offer soft/hard-reset... good to hear that your problem has been solved.
just put your device on the table, don't worry about the lens.

Problems with my Touchscreen!

Can anyone help me please !
I've got some problems with my touchscreen.
So.. it works perfectly but time after time (approx. 2-3 hours) the touchscreen adjust itself! This means, when I touch the mini keyboard for a word (e.g. "e") the "r" is highlighted! For a better view I took ScummVM to watch with the cross and it seems to me, like there is a failure in the touchscreen!
Has anybody the same problem?
How can I fix it ?!?!?
I send it back where I bought it, but the result is the same as before!
Thanks!!!
Hi mt2002,
Does re-aligning your screen (settings->system->screen) help, or does this only lasts for a few hours too?
Think you've got to send it back again, they didn't solve your problem in the first place and this feels to me like a warranty issue.
I have the same problem, and I cannot fix it, too.

Touch screen issues
Yeh had the same issue. Just seems ot be fairly randomm for me.
Hi, same problem here. I tested with a hard reset, another Rom flashing and instaling and desinstalling programs. The best thing I discover is that software like batti (add a line in the top of the screen with battery %) and vbar (task manager) accelerate the alignment problems.
I had ROM 1.11 and now 1.12 (no 1.13 in spanish language) and know I have less problems than before.
Another thing I realized is that the dealignment is not the same in all the screen: sometimes is ok in the upper part and a little bad on the bottom one and sometimes is the other way.
Anyway now I can work with it with no more than 2 realigments a day, depending on the use.
Hasta luego!
I am facing the same problem. Reinstalled the OS with version 1.11, and then 1.12 but both doesn't help.
After hard reset or reinstallation, the screen is ok for a while. But then disalignment happens. Re-aligning works for a while, and then sucks.
I think there is a problem with the hardware, not the softwares.
Do you think?
Try pressing on the back of the unit with your other hand,
(Holding edges with thumb and other fingers and pressing your first finger on the back)
While using the screen.
Also try making a new note and just drawing a grid pattern (Like a huge tic-tac-toe board)

Camera Problem - Broken Picture

I have problem with my camera after changing whole Main Board in Service. Unfortunately I didn't tested camera with orignal ROM so I don't know if it's HW problem or WM6 problem.
Picture is broken to (mainly) green boxes (see attachments). It already happend with my previous MB and WM6 ROM, but problem disappeared without any intervent from outside. Any Idea what it is and what to do?
I got the same Problem
I got the same problem still trying to find a fix.. flashed my rom a few times and still no change ruuning schap's 4.00 wm6.
Hope to find a solution..
It looks like a software fault but how or were can one find a fix..
I got the same but before it was working fine :s could be because i dropped it a few times to many? not sure though works fine on black satin but now i got the the green blocks to
That does not look like anything to do with the ROM or indeed any software setting. I'd say that's a hardware matter - BUT hopefully just the connection between camera and m/board. If you have no guarantee/warranty then I suggest removal of and refitting the camera.
You'll need to remove the scroll wheel assembly first.
Scroll wheel assembly removed exposing the camera multi-connector. (This connection is the problem I think).
Make sure this connector is flat and firmly inserted.
Mike
This happens to me occasionally. normally when the battery is low.
Though it did happen for a little while after my phone decided it needed to go play in a puddle last christmas. Once it dried out it was fine
i got this when i dropped my handset at first after i dropped this. with with a bit of brute force and a few dropps after it works fine again
Like the above post saying it it nothing to do with the rom or any software it is the connection between the camera and motherboard

G-Sensor dead?

Yesterday I dropped my Touch HD. I was sitting down, and it was in the pouch, so I thought there wasn't any damage done. The phone seemed to work like it should. However this morning I noticed that in Opera my screen wouldn't rotate. So I tried different programs like the HTC Album, and the G-Sensor calibration. Neither of those give any sign of life, GSen doesn't work either.
I did a soft-reset, I don't want to hard-reset just now...
I didn't find anything using the search but did anyone else have (or hear of) this problem? Can I assume my G-Sensor is dead? I have warranty so its not that big of a deal, but still...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=457985&highlight=sensor
give it a good shake, might be that the part that moves in the gsensor could have gotten stuck
Thanks for the link Juggler (wonder why I couldn't find it), however the solutions there didn't help me. I tried altering the settings in Advance Config Tool like in the other topic, but its still not working (didn't think it was a software problem anyway, but I'll try everything that might help...).
I tried shaking, tapping, and hitting the phone as hard as i dared to (don't want to brake it even more ), with no success.
The people in the other topic also had one of the bubbles in the calibration tool stuck to the left, hitting it on that side got the sensor unstuck. However both of my bubbles in the calibration tool remain dead center, so it looks like the phone isn't receiving any input from the accelerometer at all Its either broken or disconnected then.
I guess I'll have to send it back, unless anyone here has a miracle solution?
The problem seems to be solved... I have hit the phone a lot harder then I dared to do last time, en it's working again
I think it's a strange weakness though, my previous phones have had much more to endure, so I hope this is not a sign for the durability of the Touch HD in general... Especially since I'm not the only one with this problem.
Anyway, problem solved. Thanks for the help!

In-call screen issues....

Hello, Im new to this site and trying to figure out what could be wrong with this phone.
I bought it(tmobile hd2) off ebay with a cracked digitizer. I just finished replacing the digitizer last night. Everything seems to work fine except when I make or recieve a call Im not able to access the screen. The only thing i can do is push the end hard button. When I push the other hard keys they light up and flash real fast but the screen does not come on. Once i end the call everythings back to normal.
I dont dont really know all the functions of this phone so maybe its something as simple as a setting?
The phone was already unlocked, but im not sure if the previous user changed the software.
This is what the phone reads:
OS 5.2.21892(21892.5.0.89)
Manila version 2.5.20121412.2
ROM 2.13.531.1 (90963) WWE
ROM date 04/28/10
Radio 2.10.50.26
Protocol 15.39.50.07U
Sorry for the long post, just thought I'd give as much info as possible.
Any help would be appreciated!
There is two proximity sensors, just the the left of the earphone.
The phone is designed to switch off the screen when your ear is near - so you don't accidentally enable something by touching the touchscreen.
Make sure nothing is blocking this sensor (ie screen protector, etc). It could be that you may have disconnected the sensor. There are tweaks that can disable the sensor.
oh, ok, i know what your talking about. Its a lil clear plastic cube next to a lil round one?
i did cover it with the clear adhesive tape that i used to put on the digitizer.
is there any way i would be able to fix this issue? I had a pretty hart time taking off the cracked digitizer that I dont want to try and remove the new one, possibly damaging it.
Same problem here. I think the adhesive now blocks it.
But you say:
There are tweaks that can disable the sensor.
Where do I find these for android?

[Q] hero in winter

During the cold times i got huge problems with my screen... I'm not able to press "L"
and also the border of the screen got huge problems to respond on my touch, and sometimes the screen starts to jump from left to right.. but when i lock the screen and the 'task killer' kills some apps (FB, google search) then it oks.. any suggestions, tips ? I'm using FroydVillain 1.7.2
Have you tried wiping (full wipe) and installing a new ROM? that might help, although its unlikely to really. I sounds to me like a failing touch panel, but I'm no expert
I started having the same problems after flashing cronos 009, but then my little boy had pressed the screen a bit as well so don't know what did it
same problem like you but i had problems with letters 'M' and the backspace arrow
I flashed the original Htc rom and it kinda improved a bit
I rerooted and tries other roms and still had to problem
Now what I did was hard reset my hero and running the official Htc rom and its a lot better now atleast the screen aint jumping anymore.
I still have root but decided no more custom roms for me now
how cold its winter for you?
please what is bottom level degrees for hero working and magic also?
ty!
Is it just the bottom of the screen, that isn't reacting correctly? It might also be a hardware issue of the touchscreen... I had this some time ago, seems to be a common problem/bug among heroes... but that shouldn't have to do anything with temperature. Just to let you know, in case it gets worse...
I had the same thing as you, only I had it all the time, when the screen gets warm (charging) then it worked fine (not moving by its self) , but I the bottom of the touch screen was totally dead, I had to rotate 180 to type and use the trackball to reach the menus :-D . A while after the track ball was almost totally busted, I purchased a new digitizer on eBay, it works perfectly, (this post is the evidence..) I had to open and move the connector about 10 times before it worked well, but this definitively fixed it
Hope this helps
Sent from my HTC Hero using XDA App
I had this exact same behaviour but I hadn’t attributed it to the cold weather. The stock ROM seemed fine but any custom ROM had the issue. Anyway I sent it back to HTC under warranty and they replaced it with one that works fine.
I heared this same stuff about the iPod. When putting it at a window when its very cold it brakes the screen.
