Change manila internet tab search provider to bing - Touch Pro2, Tilt 2 Themes and Apps

Is there a way to change the search provider from google to bing on the manila 2.5 internet tab?

what version of manila are you running

Ditto. Probably an easy change in the registry, but not sure where to look...

its not in the registry...its in the lua file that controls the functions of the internet portal page...i have tried to mod the file and have not been successful at doing so...

its in the XML file, im pretty sure. theres also a thing to disable your default browser in the registry, i found that. but someone else found something in the XML that might be worth looking at.. ill see if i can find it real quick..

Old topic, please remind me..

how do I change the applications my Cube calls for Music and Videos?
I'm using PHMRegedit to change the parameters and application paths but they don't "stick".
When I soft-reset, they go back to pimg.exe.
Don't really want to download the configuration app if I can manually edit the Registry.
Thanks,
It's impossible with original MediaHubMini. You must replace it with hacked one. Some info:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=325424
I've had a good trawl around...
...and found the manual installation files on the software homepage. Thanks for that, I'll have another go
http://ww2.fatattitude.com/software/software-item.aspx?view=download
edit: Still doesn't work though. I stop mediahub.exe, replace it with the hacked version and it refuses to open s2p.exe for music...keeps going to AudioManager, which is cr4p.
Never mind. I'll live without it until Santa brings me a nice shiny HD

[Q] Where does opera put its bookmarks?

I just can't find the dang buggers!
I want to be able to cab all my settings back in. I've already got most manila config stuff (registry), but I just can't find opera's bookmarks, only the homepage. Since I've got a load of bookmarks, it's very tedious having to put them all back in after a ROM flash.
Who can help me?
The file is called Opera6.adr and it is in the application data\opera9 directory on your device.

I saw an Opera9 map in \Application data, but I don't know which file(s) contain the bookmarks. It may be in there though, in stead of in the registry. I'll try to find them and report back here.
edit: I see someone beat me to that . Thx for clearing it up, now I now which file to backup (in stead of the whole directory)

Interesting, turns out this file was located in \windows\Opera9 for me. That used to be the fix to show bookmarks in the opera tab in TF3D, which doesn't seem to work anymore anyway
It's not encoded/encrypted, so wordpad opens it just fine. Each bookmark has two values of which I can't determine the value;
ID==12 (why 12 and not 1?)
CREATED==1236695305 (I'd guess when it's created, but that doesn't look like a date/time.)
Anyone know what the rules are? Else I'll have to input them on my phone which takes more time.
At least I know which file to look for now, thanks!
EDIT: I modified ID to 1 and CREATED to 0000000001 and it works just fine, easy!

Opera Mobile is a major pain to get bookmarks into. I had to install opera on my pc and import my ie faves into it. You can then copy the opera9.ard file from your desktop opera to your x1.

Hmmm there's one too.... probably the one in \Application data was from another build, or used in another rom. Now I've got my bookmarks back also

What did you do to get the bookmarks showing again?
---
A related question: Where are passwords etc. stored? I'd guess in the other .adr files. It would be nice to have such things saved as well. I'm going to check all the files and see what they do ^^
EDIT: My bad, there is no other .adr files.. only encrypted .dat files...

Could I get that in a simplified version? This is something I would really like to be able to do.

There are more cabs further down... Please send me a PM if anybody wants a compilation cab made for them, and i'll upload it onto this thread.
and feel free to donate!
Anyway I could get just the tilt2 data speed fix and raphael net speed boost cabs from you?
just a little tip: a lot of chefs use some kind of customization tool (for e.g. NRG uses UC, Sergio and Ark use Autoinstall, etc)
they are really convenient for flash addict like me
have a look at the top post of each rom...they usually have instructions on how to use these tools
Thanks for the cab, amazing job saved me a bunch of time trying to search for all this individually.
here you go
anyone else have any requests? i can make different cabs with and without edits.. just let me know!

X,
Does this cover the enabling of proxy settings and what ATTWi-FiforWindo.cab, and removehiddenproxy?
it doesnt, because i never looked into those cabs since i was using a custom rom, but im currently checking it out..
do you want me to add them in for you? i can reupload another cab with removehiddenproxy and the attwifi cab too.
What's this ATTWififorWinmo cab you all speak of?

It's a cab that allows you to see and access all the WiFi hotspots that at&t offers anywhere you are for free (only includes DSL subscribers or customers with a $30+ data plan).
Thanks thinkblu. This will definitely come in handy

That would be excellent. I'm on Deep Shining and I notice he has a new version coming out shortly (X3) that may already include some elements so if you don't mind let me revert back to you after he releases that this wekeend.
Of course - a worker is worthy of his wages and I'll be your payPAL shortly. thanks very much.
i've spent about 3 hours so far trying to figure out how to incorporate the hiddenproxy settings into the cab..
usually i use wince to compile my cabs, but since the hidden proxy settings are not a wince function, i've resorted to recompiling my cab through MSDOS. please give this cab a try and let me know if it works out alright... i cant guarantee that this will work..
otherwise I have also attached a cab that creates a folder on your start menu that has the hide and remove proxy shortcut in it, but you'll have to go through another cab install to remove the proxy... but this one will definitely work.
let me know , the first cab cab should directly disable the hidden proxy, as well as install all previous cabs and the attwifiwindo cab.

Sorry if this is a stupid question, but what does the AT&T proxy disable, and if I have a Tilt 2 and flash a custom ROM does the proxy still block anything?
honestly im not sure haha
i think all it does is let you connect to att services.
but i dont know if you have it or not when you flash a custom rom, i'd think not, if you flashed a touch pro 2 rom, but im not completely sure.
i extensively tested the data cabs today (with the exception of the youtube one)
my overall results were that the stock energy rom was faster without the data fixes, i've attached a version with no data fix in case anybody wanted it.
(this one doesnt have the youtube fix either)
mms
does this fix the mms problem i cant receive any mms on my phone or will i have to wait for the x3
there are so many problems to mms... you might want to go with an individual cab, or if you want me to, i'll add a mms fix cab in esp for you. let me know!

Is there any danger of overwriting a cab (like enable camera modes or whatever) that is already cooked in the rom we are using?
Hey X: Here is my order that will be useful for those of us on X4 Deep Shining ROM (which already has Kybd Control and Cookie Tabs):
At0mang Enhanced D3D driver (At0mang)
ATT_aGPS_Settings_511_T-Back (??)
jh20001_Tilt2_Data_Speed_Fix_1.0 (jh20001)
marcini.thinkblu-tilt2 vol increase (thinkblu & marcini)
SH4Ys Raphael Net Speed Boost (SH4YD33)
thinkblu.Enable MMS Limits (thinkblu)
Vendetta_Youtube_Fix (xredjokerx)
ATTWififorWinmo
remove hidden proxy folder
MMS Fix (M2.5) (ATT) (Valkyrie) (1.43) cab,
Is there a way to incorporate the ISP settings here? (or here:
Is there anything I'm missing that you've needed to cook for ATT fixes for Opera Streaming or marketplace support?

I would be interested in a good CAB for fixing up MMS for EnergyROM on Tilt2 (At&T). Now i go in with a registry editor and change all send sizes to 614400.

Location of Sense 2.5 slider ?

Could somebody please tell me where the image file for the Sense 2.5 is located ? I would like to alter it slightly,bI could do it easily in regular old MS Paint, no need for me to download HDWalls unless thats the only way to change it for some reason. I searched all thru /Windows, couldnt find it in there. If its in one of the million manilla files, how would I go about getting it out? Sorry if this has been covered before, I searched the forums, and all I found was HDWalls but I'd rather avoid using that if possible. Thanks!!
It will be buried among roughly 700-800 manila files. Unfortunately, I don't have Sense 2.5 so I can't tell you the exact name. But you can use CFC GUI to find and extract the png: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=470798
As far as I know, MS Paint will open the png and save it, but you will any transparency. So if your slider is a bit opaque, MS Paint won't do the trick.
crap...
thats kinda what i figured, that it'd be buried in the manilla files somewhere. i didnt consider that i'd lose transparency. guess i'll be going with hdwalls. thanks for your help, i appreciate it.

Quick question re Manila

I use only a few of the tabs on Manila - but I seem to remember reading somewhere that I have to edit a certain file in the core if i want to simply not include the tabs, becuase it will crash if it cannot find the tab to which it refers.
Could someone point me in the right direction?
Many thanks
You need to edit 26948339_manila in Manila core.
Open with NotePad and delete what you dont need then change the number sequence of the other tabs.
Anyway ( reading CC sticky threads worth) in this link you are explain how to add extra tabs, just make reverse.

You can check here http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/index.php?title=Manila_Tutorial_1
Edit: af974 was quicker
Thank you both. I seem to struggle with Manila generally at the moment. I knew I had read it somewhere but could not dig it up.
Hmmm. Did this and all worked except that my weather tab has stopped working. Made no other changes and have checked I have not deleted more than I should.
Any suggestions?
Cheers.
Update:Never mind. Updating my weather tab package to 2018 seems to have fixed it. Not sure why.
